@Fuyumi: What it's used for or where to get it?
I should answer both: So it can be used like jasmine rice and just eat with meat and vegetables but it's also used for sushi because it holds together better.
@Fox: I do that when I have no homework. I tend to stick to one thread if I don't have to multi-task.

@Risika
who's Alton? *blinks and tips head to the side*
Yeah, I am kinda like that. Not knowing what I want. but at the end of the day I figured I'd most likely end up marrying a guy anyway, and it might as well be a guy I'm attracted to, and I have an Asian fetish so *shrugs* yeah XD
@Gaijin
oh, Jasmine rice? i used to have that. I'll just have to buy more. Yeah, I was wondering if I could make rice balls with them ^^ I'd also like to learn how to make sesame balls..but the thing is, is that I use sesame seeds in my spaghetti sauce, so I'll have to buy more. They come in such small containers though >_<
@snow
Oh I see. Wow, that's really weird. I'm surprised there's a school that doesn't considered science required. I wish I could have gone to a school like that, might have had a better GPA if I did.
It sucks that you have to be held back a year, but stuff happens I guess.

@Fuyumi - You learn something new every day.
Alton is most likely Alton Brown from the cooking show Good Eats. And to make sticky rice you have to buy sticky rice. Well, more glutinous rice. The gluten is what makes it sticky. The vinegar doesn't make it sticky as far as I know, that's just what makes is sushi rice, but I'm not a rice expert, so maybe it does. *shrugs*
Anyway, I'm making dinner now, some crazy experimental cauliflower and pasta dish that I'm making up as I go along. My mom bought two heads of cauliflower and then just left them in the fridge to rot as she went away for the weekend, so I had to scramble to think of something to do with them. *sighs*
I'll be back later to let people know if my kitchen experiments didn't kill me XD

Hmmm, interesting logic...

@Cookie: I don't like working with cauliflower... It's yucky, gross, for lack of a better word. It is especially frustrating when my mom buys something for an experiment or she says we need to eat more healthy things and then we never use it.
@Fuyumi: I don't really know how to make sushi or rice balls. Maybe because I lack the patience...
Do you just add the sesame in the tomato sauce?

Yes I do. It's really good actually, you should try it ^^
Oh I tried making sushi once. I bought a sushi making kit and the sushi was so dry it was gross >_< I will have to use fresher ingredients next time I try.
@Cookie
Oh! Okay XD
Ah *nods* I don't think the store I shop at has that. I'll look into it at other stores though. Have fun!
@Pink
really? *blinks* well..it's just I know what kinda person I am. And while I have honestly dated a girl before, I also want to have kids. I also want to adopt, and a lot of adoption places don't like same-sex couples T_T so really it's more about practicality at the end of the day.
I want a boyfriend, but I don't think I'm ready to be married yet.

@Risika - Thanks. I think it turned out pretty well considering that I was peeling open a half a dozen mini babybell cheeses to add to it since we're out of other kinds XD
@Gaijin - I like cauliflower! It has an interesting texture, kind of crumbly and the flavor is so mild, it goes great with cheese. I looked at it and said "Well, I have cauliflower, aside from cooking it and just eating that, what can I do with it? It goes good with cheese. Cheese goes good with pasta. How about cauliflower and pasta in a cheese sauce? :D" And so here I am, eating just that.
@Fuyumi - It's such a pain in the butt to find Asian ingredients sometimes! Most grocery stores have little Asian sections. I can get Pocky from Walmart! And our Super One Foods carries ramune soda in six packs! :D But some things I just can't find and our local Asian Market is Korean, so they have their own kind of ingredients. Or at least, I can't figure out if they have what I need XD

aww..I would hate being allergic to cats. Well I'm sure you won't be a lonely old spinster. I bet you'll figure something out eventually. Maybe move in with a friend or something.
@Gaijin
I put in a little. Like a tsp. Aww...well..you can always just practice ^^ hmm. I like making my own sauces, it's fun. They never taste the same twice though.
@Cookie
Oh at the mall, you can get ramune soda at a cd store XD it's funny. They have like strawberry and chocolate pocky there too. it's a bit random. Yeah Meijers has pocky too. I love pocky. I love chocolate in general though so >_> my favorite is strawberry pocky though. I think it would be cool if there was like a strawberry chocolate kind. I have only tried two flavor,s there are so many more.
I just looked and there really aren't any asian markets in this city. Maybe the one near by will have one. It's much bigger there.

@Fuyumi - Here the World Market store sells ramune soda by the bottle, but it's much cheaper to get a six pack and pay maybe $3 than pay $1.75 per bottle O_o I prefer strawberry pocky as well. I don't like the chocolate as much because it's a darker chocolate and I prefer milk chocolate. I've also had blueberry pocky, which is very good and chocolate and coconut pocky that is awesome :D
Did I see you say earlier that you were near Boston?
@Risika - Thanks. I'm so stuffed now! I don't even know why I'm so full, I didn't eat that much! D:
I read your little story (finally >_>) And it was adorable :D

@Cookie: I think I just don't like it raw. It has to be done well for me to like it I guess. I don't like cooking it though. >.>
@Fuyumi: Yeah that's frustrating. I tried to make this sauce for chicken a while ago. The intention was to put just enough different flavors to make it interesting because I find chicken to be very boring unless it's cooked perfect. A good solution to boring chicken is cheese. :)
So I put maple syrup (for thickness), salt and pepper, curry powder, and dehydrated sharp cheddar cheese. IT WAS EPIC. Although, I can't duplicate the recipe! Dx

oh wow. I didn't know such a magical place existed *starry eyes* No I'm afraid someone else is near Boston. I am in Michigan.
Blueberry pocky sounds neat. I love blueberries. We have so many blueberry farms here XD
@Gaijin
Oh wow, that sounds really interesting. I would never have thought of using maple syrup. That's pretty cool that you did. Yeah, chicken is pretty bland. I try using terryoki sauce, but it makes it taste very bitter T_T I can't seem to cook it right.

@Fuyumi: When I cook chicken, I usually either bake it or fry it. Frying is good because you get that crust on the surface and it's all crunchy and delicious and you don't need as many spices, just salt and pepper. :)
Sadly, I must depart. I'm going to go watch a play with my friends ;) See you later WALLFLOWER PEEPS!

@Gaijin - I don't eat it raw really. It's ok raw, but I eat it cooked more.
Bye bye.
@Risika - You're welcome :D It was cute :heart:
Ah. I used to live in Rhode Island. I went to Anime Boston for a few years. There's a nice little Japanese grocery store not far from the convention center that sells all sorts of stuff. I used to buy Calpico there. I love that stuff waaaay more than I like ramune soda. Calpico is awesome!
@Fuyumi - Oooh. Where in Michigan? Are you near Anne Arbor? Cause that's where Wizzywig's is! My friend from there used to talk about it and last year, they had a booth at our local anime convention (In Louisiana! What a drive!) And they had all sorts of awesome stuff. I got mochi and other snacks from them. :D
I love blueberries too. They're yummylicious!

Eh so what sort of books do you like to read?
@Cookie
Mochi..I want to try that. OI know what city you are talking about. It's a bit more east than here, and it's more south Michigan too. I hear it's nice there though.
I live in Muskegon right now ^^ that's where my college is, but before that I lived in Holland. So I'm on the western side of Michigan.

@Fuyumi: I read all kinds of books. My favorites tend to fall somewhere in the fantasy genre though. ^^
