@Risika: xDDD I know this was directed at Fuyumi, but I laughed when I saw your comment. I have to say, most sewing machines are more well-made than that, but I can't promise anything because all the ones we've had are ancient and they really DO break down if you look at it wrong. xD It's so hard sewing ANYTHING at my house, because our machines are all broken, ancient, and stupid. lol

@BB: Well, ours is at least an antique. >.> It used to be my Great Aunt's. But it's made of cast iron, so unless I drop it out the window, it should be pretty indestructible. Should be.

@Sexy: Hi! And, no I have no idea. Where would one find out?

Hi, Candy! I don't have a clue when the event starts. Actually, I'd like to know that too. xD

@ Risika: lol, yeah, 'should' being the key word. I think ours is made of cast iron, but it's not so much that IT is broken, rather that it's very... tempermental. It doesn't like being used. ^_^"

@Risika
yes I do ^^

aww, don't worry about breaking it. It really isn't that hard. I learned to sew by watching project runway. I watched how they sewed their clothes, and did the same things they did while working at the sewing machine. Which is guiding the fabric front to back. I really enjoy making clothes, especially when they end up fitting like a glove XD it's awesome. But some material is so expensive, so I stick with cheaper stuff(though it's not as stretchy normally)

Anyway, you should probably take some classes in school, cause that would help. If you're not able to, there are probably a lot of tutorials on how to sew on youtube. I think the funnest part of sewing is picking out the fabric and the end result.

@Candy
hey. I think the event is starting like early this week. So monday-wednesday. If not then idk XD

@Fuyumi: I know the basics, and since I'm not in school, taking a class could be difficult, lol. I have a ton of patterns in a box, I've just never gotten around to using them. I think part of it is me hoping to lose weight before I start making things(because stuff wouldn't fit anymore if I lost weight), and it never happens. Dx

@Sexy: Darn, now I want to know too. xD Wait, I knew Cookie was awesome, but how could she know what we don't know? Does she have psychic abilities that let her see into the minds of The Powers That Be, or do they just start the event around the same time each year? O.o

Sooo.... what exactly IS an event? Is there a thread for newbies somewhere explaining it that I missed that I could go read?

@Risika
honestly, I never use patterns ^^" Unless I make them myself. I think it's fun to create something from a piece of fabric. I first draw the picture out in my sketch book, then I try to find fabric like it, then I make the clothes. It's pretty fun.

Oh, well you could still make things that would look great on you now, and tailor it later when you lose weight ^^ I am also trying to lose weight. Not on top though. On bottom. I'm one of those people with a small chest/stomach/wasit, and big hips/butt.

@BBChan
I don't know if there is a thread. but it is where a special forum opens up and the site has a bunch of contests and stuff. It's really fun cause you get special items. You also get to umm..whats it called. talk to the npcs too ^^

@BB: Though I've never participated in one, what I've gathered is this... There's a special event forum where you post. Usually there are items given out during the event, and some you have to work for. Also, there is sometimes a shop update, and all those new items are half-priced during the course of the event. ^^

@Fuyumi: Oh, see I'm not awesome enough to do that, haha. For one, I can't draw. And secondly, I find it easier to follow guidelines. I might be able to alter the design, but I couldn't fully create something completely new. I don't know enough about how clothes work. xD

Ah, see I'm just roly-poly all over. I mean, I'm not huge, but the fat is everywhere. Even my feet are pudgy. Dx

@Jelly: Awww, that stinks. I always hate when that happens, but i would love to weigh 130. That's probably actually my 'healthy weight'. Alas, I'm nowhere near that, and I have no motivation to exercise.

Oh, really? I guess it could be confusing... I really hope I don't get too confused.

@Risika: I think the problem is that I don't have a job so I can't buy my own food and the people I live with eat very unhealthy. It's a lot of throw it in the microwave and zap it kind of food. Or pop it into the oven kind of stuff. It's horrible really.

It really didn't help that I thought the Event would be similar to Gaia and that I wouldn't have to work for anything. xD I'm excited for this years event though.

@Risika
well I'm sure if you want to lose weight you can. I am going on a Japanese diet myself ^^

Yeah I'm not really a follow guidelines type person when it comes to creative things honestly. I think that's why I either end up making something wonderful, or when I draw, something not so pretty. I'm actually talented at sewing. It's so sad I've only discovered that this past year. but oh well, I will probably only ever do it for fun. My dream is to make fancy clothes for my future children. dress them up as cool vampires(not stereotype ones or twighlight ones) for holloween, or visual kei people when they are young and hope they embrace it when they are older XD

@Jelly: Ah, yes. That could be a big issue. Luckily, living at home like I do, I get proper meals cooked for me daily. Dinner at least, anyways.

Ohhh, yes, that could make things confusing. Gaia just does not prepare its users for the real world. :no:

@Fuyumi: I'm mostly managing to maintain right now. I can't really drastically change my diet because I don't make most of my own food, so for me it became a matter of changing when I ate, not what I ate. I know eat my dinner warmed up in the morning, and breakfast(and apple and yogurt usually) for lunch. then I have small snacks throughout the day. The weekends kill me though, since I have no set schedule. >.<

You do that, it would be fun. ^^ I really hope I can get into sewing myself.

@Risika
omg one of my babies grew!! It's huge now O_O

Oh I guess you could always try eating smaller portions then. I hear that helps. It hasn't helped me though, but the place I have most of my fat at is one of the hardest spots to get rid of it. I can easily get a flat stomach though, but what is the point if it just makes me hips look bigger XD

I see..well exercise also helps. I'm trying to exercise 30 minutes a day. so far I fail at it though XD

Yeah, I wish you the best of luck with losing weight and sewing ^^

@Jelly: So you're vegetarian? hat must be really rough. I mean, I've never tried it myself, but protein's got to be hard to come by, especially if there's no real cooking going on...

@Fuyumi: I do try to exercise, I just tend to forget. I motivate myself by watching Pirates of the Caribbean while riding the stationary bike. And I only watch it then so if I want to see the end of the movie, I have to ride the bike. xD

Thanks for the support, and hopefully things go well for you too. ^^

I know a habit I've heard is actually healthiest for your body is to eat what you want when you want. Since I've only ever craved junk food, I'm not sure that applies to me, but apparently that's supposed to be healthiest. I guess your body will crave healthy things when it needs something.

Something that's always worked for me is 'grazing'. I have a hard time sitting down and eating a full meal, but instead I eat little bits constantly throughout the day. I've heard from other people that that's supposed to work well, too. *shrugs* I don't know how true it is, but it's worked for me.

@BB: 'grazing' can be a good option, so long as the munchies are good munchies. xD Unfortunately, we can't have food on the floor at work, so I can only eat at my breaks and at lunch. If I had an office job, life would be sooo much easier. >.<

@Fuyumi: Whoa! Big baby! :P

@Risika: I eat some meat, but it's few and far between. I get nearly no protein. Although my Mother bought me protein bars the other day (they really aren't that great) and we have protein powder in the pantry. I'm just too lazy to make it into a shake.

@BB: I do that same thing, I mostly crave junk food, and fruit, and bread, cheese, and eggs. What kind of diet is that? Have you heard about this eat for your blood type thing? Apparently certain blood types should only eat certain foods because they are best for them.

@Jelly: Have you tried Odwalla? A couple of their snack bars have 7 or 8 grams of protein each, and I think they're yummy. I also like the Vanilla Crisp PowerBars, but the rest of their stuff is kind of ew. I think it's a texture thing, lol. Do you like peanut butter? It can be high in fat, but any kind of nut is a decent source of protein. Also, do you eat fish, or no? I know some people who don't eat red meat but will eat fish and poultry, and then there are others who won't eat meat period.
