☼ A Few Words... ☼
Before I begin, I wanted to start off by thanking all those who stepped up to participate. After hosting the Relay Race in the first Celestial Paradi, I knew how stressful it got for some. But because of the positive feedback I received, I decided to host it again. And the timing was perfect - after last year's Celes Paradi, I had gone on a long hiatus to join the US Army. When all my training was completed, right on time, I got to work on this celebration.
I wanted this game to try out some things I heard people speak up on. One of the things was that they didn't like their assigned tasks. They found others far more interesting or better catered to their skills and talents. So for the Deck Party, I took away that responsibility. It was up to the TEAMS themselves to delegate tasks.
Then, I made the decision to give a shot at Work Games. People liked the aspect of having a race. So I tried to bring in that aspect, upping the difficulty to make them more challenging. The only requirement was that, unlike the Chore Tasks - which focused on the individual's efforts toward meeting the team's goals, you would have to work together with each other. The one thing I love about Menewsha is the sense of community. In a couple of days, I watched three teams of ten people each, many of whom perhaps never knew each other, work together so well. I am definitely impressed by all of your efforts.
For those who participated by completing chores, doing work jobs, or playing trivia in at least three of the four game days, they qualify for the prizes. Those who missed a day or two will be given a complimentary gift.
All names with a * beside them qualify for the prizes.

☾ In third place...The Moon Team! ☾
Despite many members being missing in action, I'm very proud of az_stars, sushi_mew, Siti_hajar, Suicidalpete, Miro, Katzzie, Zernita, nekomorty, and dystopia for still doing their best. The biggest problems that can't be helped is the issue of time zones and personal obligations. They still gave it their all and did their best without complaining or being downtrodden. Congratulations!
Here are some highlights from the game!

★ In second place...The Star Team! ★
The Star team had many motivated and dedicated members. I definitely saw a lot of Star pride! They interpretted many tasks with great talent and skill. Even after being short two members, they still performed very well. Congratulations to Bani, Cadiwyn Bree, Leviathana, Nickle4apickle, nikijay88, Troubledfox, Waffle, and wish!
And here are some of their outstanding works!

☼ In first place...The Sun Team! ☼
Out of all the teams, the Sun team managed to rally into action more of their members than their competition. They even hired a member from last year's Relay Race. With good teamwork, communication, planning, and delegation, they definitely deserved their victory. Congratulations Cami, Hadsvich, Hatake Ayumi, .Jazzed, Katurine, Kent, Knitted Doll, M i n u x e, Popcorn Gun, rampartte, and The Chased Centaur!
Here are some of their work throughout the game!

☾ A few comments... ☾
Here are some hints for future games.
1. Read everything before beginning. Before signing up, read the rules! Before starting a round, read all of what the game entails! This is your individual responsibility to know what you're getting yourself into.
2. If you don't know or understand something, ask. Unlike last year's Relay Race, I was not available for much of the game and there wasn't much I could do to change that. I tried my best to make the rules, chores/jobs, and mini games as clear as possible. I'm a human, not a machine. I definitely could not foresee some issues that arose.
3. When playing a group game like this - especially one that requires teamwork, reach out and meet your fellow teammates! In this particular game, there were three days of sign ups. That gave players an opportunity to contact one another and get to know each other. Some things you could possibly learn from each other would probably be things like what time zone they're residing in, what their skills and talents are, and how much time they can be on Menewsha.
4. Work together to make a strategy. In this particular game, it would have been most profitable to participate in the Work Jobs first, the Chore Tasks second, then the Mini Games, and finally the Trivia. The Work Jobs obviously gave out the most points. Chores and Mini Games are stable and not reliant on who finishes first. Trivia was put into place as something to do if the Work Jobs portion was done and you finished your Chores. They were made random, because of the hosts' schedules, and because the players had such diverse time zones. It was an attempt to give as many people possible a chance to play. It was meant to be a 24 hour game to keep you all on your toes.
5. Have fun. I tried compiling tons of different things into one to meet as many as your diverse tastes and talents. Some of you enjoy drawing, writing, answering trivia, competitions, and so on. I hope you all found something you liked in this game.

★ THANK YOU! ★
Before I conclude, I want to give a thank you to Rosebleed. When I was first brainstorming this game, I realized just how much work it would entail. I asked for a volunteer, and Rosebleed stepped forward. She gave me a hand when I was at work, came up with her batch of fun trivia questions, and took time from her schedule to host trivia rounds. I really couldn't do everything I wanted to without her help!
I am overall satisfied with the outcome with the game considering how much fun I had hosting it, talking to you all, and watching you all play. I do hope it was an enjoyable experience for you all too. Thank you for playing! Take care and enjoy your time here on Menewsha! ^_^

☼ Have any comments? ☼
Here's your chance to let me know what you would like to see in future events!
The feedback from last year's Relay Race had a big influence on the Celestial Deck Party.
Be sure to put all spoonfed questions in quote tags!
1. Do you enjoy team based games? Would you recommend others to join? Would you play a similar game?
2. What made you sign up for the Celestial Deck Party? (Did you participate last year, the prizes, the game itself, etc?)
3. Did you prefer performing individually (Chore Tasks) or as a team (Work Jobs)?
4. Were the games broad enough? Did they fulfill your artistic, writing, trivia, competitive needs? Any suggestions on types of tasks to do?
5. Did you like the mini games? Would you prefer just playing mini games, not having any, or including them alongside the tasks?

WAHOO! :boogie: :boogie: :boogie:
1. Yus I did enjoy the games, even though I didn't get to play all of them.
2. I didn't participate last year, but I stumbled on the thread during the event and thought it would be allot of fun. (I wasn't disappointed)
3. I performed individually... I did one work job at least, but mostly I did chore tasks. I think the Sun Team was well organized! But I wasn't on enough to participate in most of the organizing... I just did as I was told :sweat:
4. I thought the variety was a great concept! Gave everyone the opportunity to provide their best qualities. For example, I can't draw but I can photoshop pretty good! Etc...
5. The minigames were fun, but once again I only did one or two or them.
I think the large amount of work involved was super impressive, way to go Tori! Even someone who didn't get on much could get involved and play their part! =3
Sorry I don't have much constructive criticism for you... I think there are a huge amount of great qualities in this event, but I understand how it's competitive nature and the intimidating amount of work involved could generate angst and frustration. Hense the small quarrels that occurred.
I think the fact that you still get a prize even if you only get third place sort of solves that issue... but I know I would still be disappointed had I been the one in second or third.
As for the Trivia Questions, they were hard! I only got like one... and that was pure luck! Maybe you could include some more "random interval" events like "first poster every ten pages" or something. For the people who are loitering and the people who just show up randomly and luckily at just the right time!
Just some ideas...
Thanks for making the thread! It definitely won my vote! =3

1) I love team games! If I new my friends liked them too, I would probably ask them to join. And most definitely will I be eager to play a similar game.
2) I saw the thing, reminded myself of Jeryk's (sp?) Ninja vs. Pirates game and how fun it was and how everybody got into it! I wanted to have fun, and it sounded like fun!
3) Work jobs were fun, and so were the chores. But with work jobs everybody rallied to help out so we could end in first.
xD;;
At least in chores you could take your own jolly time in finishing, and have a greater choice in tasks since they weren't all taken. The party favor challenge was super fun and I was amazed how inspired -ish I was by it.
:heart:
4) The tasks themselves were very varied and fair. Everybody who had a talent in a creative field could focus on one others could not do because of lack of expertise. All I have to say is, maybe next time have less "take a photo of ____" ones. We ended up with a bit of a lack in cameras.
xD;;
5) I actually don't know if I participated in any of the minigames... Though some of my team did.
:sweat:
AWESOME JOB, Loved participating, love you!!
xD;;

1. Do you enjoy team based games? Would you recommend others to join? Would you play a similar game?
|
Yes, I love games like this~ & Yes, definitely, everyone should experience one of these kind of games at least once in their Menewshan life~ >w< & Of course I would, I enjoy participating in games such as this one~

2. What made you sign up for the Celestial Deck Party? (Did you participate last year, the prizes, the game itself, etc?)

The game, definitely, I don't think I've played a game like this in real life, so it's very interesting~ & Also because I participated last year~

3. Did you prefer performing individually (Chore Tasks) or as a team (Work Jobs)?
|
I had no preference, I enjoyed doing both.
As you said, the work jobs were like a race, so we tried to finish those as quickly as possible. & Then we enjoyed our time with the chore tasks.

4. Were the games broad enough? Did they fulfill your artistic, writing, trivia, competitive needs? Any suggestions on types of tasks to do?
|
Yes, they were~ & Yep, they did~
Maybe you can include tasks where you give riddles and we search for a certain post in a certain thread? I'm not sure how to explain this. o 3o;

5. Did you like the mini games? Would you prefer just playing mini games, not having any, or including them alongside the tasks?
|
Yep, I loved them~ Though I didn't really like making people put a banner/pic in their sig.
But I definitely loved copying other people's avatars and posting the mecha~
I like them included alongside tasks~

1. I really do. I've played in three of these types of games now (last Celes, this Celes, and pirates vs ninjas), and I've thoroughly enjoyed all of them. I usually force people I know to sign up on my teams. I'd definitely play a similar one.
2. As I said, I did last year's Celes and the pirate ninja game. As soon as I saw there was another one like this, I knew I had to join.
3. I don't think I really preferred one over the other. It can be frustrating sometimes to wait on other people to finish things, especially as the deadline draws closer, but it also builds camaraderie and in many ways is much more fun then competing alone.
4. I thought they were plenty broad, especially when you consider all four parts of the game. I do agree with Hatake that the camera thing caused quite a few issues, but it was also nice having physical, real-life challenges because that provided for more possibilities than just what you could do on a computer.
5. I liked the mini-games a lot. They were sort of like a bonus. Not the first thing you focussed on, but could help you get a lot of gold if you were missing team members.
The one other suggestion I had was that I think the work tasks should have had second and third place prizes. So, 500 for being the first to finish, 200 for being the second to finish, and 100 for being the third to finish (or something similar. I chose those denominations because that way the first team to finish still won quite a bit more than the other two, but the other two teams still got something for their efforts). I saw multiple times that teams put a lot of effort into finishing the work tasks, only to feel like it was all for nothing.
You also might consider, if you do this for a game other than Celes Paradi, having more teams. I feel like a lot of people didn't make it onto a team who would have liked to, but also if the teams get too big it's less fun and harder to organize everyone (plus a lot more work for you to come up with all the tasks). Even for Celes Paradi, maybe next year you might consider having sun, moon, star, dance, song, and feast teams.

1. Yes, I do. It lets people participate in the game without having to devote their entire time online to it, because they have teammates to help with the tasks and help out and stuff.
I would recommend people to join, but I don't think I'd have to. The slots were pretty much full when I joined.
I would probably play a similar game, but only if I'm not busy at the time. I felt like a dead weight on my team because I did so little. ._.;
2. I participated last year. I was on the Moon Team. Do you remember the Moon Bishie? Best mascot ever. Ever. We should totally have gotten bonus points for him. xD
3. I liked doing the Chorse Tasks better, because I could just work on them on my own and turn them in. No setting up meetings, no hindering my teammates. Yanno?
4. I didn't get a good look at the list, but the ones I saw seemed broad. But I wish there weren't so many 'Take a Picture' tasks. My parents don't let me post my pictures online.
5. I was so busy I didn't get to see what the mini games were. D:

1. Yeah~ It's definitely fun to work in a team. :D And yes, I would~ And yeah~
Games that are similar to this should be just as fun to play, right? :3
2. Mostly because I participated last year. >w<
But also because the game sounded like fun and I wanted to see what you'd have us do this year. o wo
3. I liked both! <3 Though the work jobs were done in such a rush. :gonk: So they weren't too much fun.
I love how you can take your time with the chore tasks~ = w=
4. I think they were broad enough. o 3o I loved drawing things~ 8D
Maybe there can be a task where you give us riddles that lead us to threads we could search for?? o 3o
5. I loved the last two mini games~ I don't like making people put stuff in their siggys. ; 3;
And I prefer including them along with the tasks~

1. I really liked the team based game!! I would definitely recommend this to other people, and in the future, I do hope that even more people would want to join!! I would love to play a similar game again, and am definitely going to, when it comes around once again. I really hope that you have something like this in the future Celes Paradi!!
2. This was my first ever event on Menewsha, so I wanted to participate as much as I could in this awesome celebration. The games seemed very interesting and I wanted to be part of all the fun the other members seemed to be having!
3. We divided most of the tasks between members, but interaction with others was quite amusing when you had to gather information about the other members.
4. The ideas were great! They definitely fulfilled my artistic competitive AND trivial needs. I am kind of sad that I didn't get to use my artistic skills all that much, because I was at work and didn't have access to any drawing equipment.
5. I missed the mini games ): They should be included along side of the tasks.
I would just like to add something. I think that we should have been awarded if we completed the Work tasks. I understand that it is fair to give the team that finished first a big amount of points. But it was kind of disappointing to not get any points at all for tasks we worked hard on.
