Ebony smiled and getnly stroked the horse. "This one is starfire.... The fire in it's eyes is very bright... And this one..." she said turning to the brown mare. "Champion.... Starfire and Champion..." she said smiling. They seemed to just have a ring to it. She handed Ivan his black cloak and smiled. "Can we ride them?" she asked looking at the sadle hesitantly. She had never ridden a horse before so she was a little scared to mount one now. But Starfire nudged her seeming to want to be ridden and it made Ebony smile.

Ivan put on his cloak and then jumped onto Champian. "yeah we can." he said wtih a smile. He had riden before and he could see that she never have. He then slipped off the horse and smiled at her. "if you want I can teach you how to ride, it isn't very hard." he said as he looked at her and smiled.

Ebony blushed feeling stupid and nodded. "that would help.." she said softly and raised her foot into the loop on the saddle. She pulled herself up and gasped hanging on tight to Starfire's mane. The horse let out a breath and she blushed. She straightened up and smiled down at Ivan sheepishly. "Its so high up..." she murmered a little scared.

Ivan laughed slightly, "yeah it is but it is very fast." he said then got onto his own horse. He moved closer to her and leaned over, kissing her cheek. "now hold onto the reins, you use that to direct the horse and gently tap the sides of the horse when you want to go and when you want to stop pull on the reins slightly." he said as he looked at her.

Ebony nodded quickly memerizing Ivan's words. "Okay... I think I get it..." she whispered. She getnly taped Starefire's sides and the horse began moving forword at a slow pace. Ebony smiled seeing it had worked and rubbed the horses neck lovingly as she held to the rien with the other. She smiled and ounce she was comfortable she kicked Starfire harder sending the horse into a eased gallop. She laughed as the horse began picking up speed and looked at Ivan. This was fun.

Ivan smiled and tapped his tapped his horse on the side to catch up with her. "your a natural at this." he said with a smile. If he hadn't known better he owuld have guessed that she had been doing this her whole life. "now lead the way." he said with a smile. He hoped that when this was all over he could go and be with her and have a house where no one would bother them.

Ebony nodded blushing and smiled. "Alright..." she said and looked towards the mountains in the distance. Far off in front of them was a forest. She set her heart and gettif there and held onto the rien tightly. "Lets go Starfire..." she whisperedto the horse.

Ivan smiled and followed her happly. They would get there a lot faster now that they had horses but he would also have to feed them and make sure that they had enought water. But that would be easy and he really couldn't wait till this whole thing was over with and he could be with her forever.

Hours passed and the sun began setting as Ebony riened Starfire to a halt. they were on top of a hill and she looked down at the small village confused. SHe didn't remember a village being anywhere near the woods yet there it stood. "We should stop in that village for the night." she said and stroked Starfire making her nodd and look back at Ebony happily.

Ivan nodded as he looked at the village. "yes but we should stay on high alert just incase something happens." he said as he stopped next to her and patted Champians side. She was a nice horse and very strong. He then smiled at Ebony, "but it looks like we are making great time with these horses." he said happly

Ebony smiled and nodded. "Yes... about another two days at most... But I'd say a day and a few hours of riding and we should enter the kingdom of the elves." she said happily and spurred Starfire again into a trot to give the horse a break from it's long gallop. As they cam e closer to the village she noticed that the people were walking along side many different animals. Every human seemed to have an animal walking besides them and she looked at them confused and then at Ivan. "what are they?" she whispered.

Ivan looked at everyone and smiled, "they are sprit animals or animal companians. Some humans have grown attached to animals or born with a animal spirt that sticks close to them. But this is the first time in a while I have seen so many." he said as he looked at her.

Ebony rode Starfire into the small village and people smiled at her. She was surprised but returned the smiles with a warm smile of her own. She saw the stables and rode over. She got off of Starfire and led the horse to water. A hand touched her sholder and she looked up surprised to see a man not much older than herself smiling at her with a black wolf sitting at his feet. "Let me," he said poiletly and he watered the horse expertly. "Welcome to Animon, what brings important travelers as yourselves here?" he asked looking Ebony up and down and noting her armor. "We're off to make peace with the elves." ebony said smiling. "Would you happen to know a good inn. My husband and I would like to stay the night." she said and the man raised an eyebrow. "You're so younge...." he said his words trailing off but he dismissed the thought. "Yes, the tavern is also part inn. A very homely place but the bar is very exotic and exciting. There's a party tonight. You should come, drink your worries away." he said poiltely.

Ivan thought for a second and then looked at Ebony. "we might come but we have to be out of here by tomorrow. We have limited time to stay." he said as he looked at the man. He looked nice but he stayed alert just incase, he didn't want anything to happen while he wasn't on watch. "by the way I am Ivan and this is Ebony, who might you be?" he asked as he looked at him.

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. How silly of me. I am Samous, and this is my animorf Fang." he said kissing Ebony's hand and then offering his hand to Ivan. "Pleased to meet you Samous, Fang." Ebony said smiling. "The pleasure is ours my lady." Fang said without moving his mouth. Ebony was surprised but composed herself. "I have never seen an animorf before... They seem to be commen to this village." she said. "That's because humans here are rich in their spirits.... As I am Samous's...." Fang said and she looked at him amazed. "Really? and how do you come to be?" she asked. "I grow as he grows.... I am born as he is born... We grow old and die as one.... Its quite simple, but some humans obtain their animorf as well." Fang said and Ebony looked at Samous. "Its true, some times it takes people time to become one with their spirit and letting it become its own being." Samous said smiling.

Ivan nodded, this was all very interesting. "but can anyone have a animorf or do you have to be from your village or of human blood?" he asked, he always liked ot learn as much as he could and this was facinating to him. He wondered if this could apply to werewolf, vampires and other magical creatures.

"It applies to all creatures except shapeshifters who are already in tune with their animal spirits. But I've only seen elves that trade with us that have them.... But they had animorfs long before we did.... Elves practically live forever and their knowledge is vast..." Samous said happy to answer their questions. "But they have grown arrogant and self centered like your human breathern...." Fang said and Samous shot him a warning look. "Dont speak of our friends that way," Samous warned and Ebony tilted her head to the side. "They have? I thought they were always ready to help and put others first." she said. "They do but power and knowledge has become greed and sense they are immortal they believe now in these dark times they are almost devine.... And that anything they want they may take..." Fang said in discust. "have you witnessed this?" Ebony asked concerned. "Yes, a few of the younge women in our village were taken by some elves in the middle of the night.... They write but we haven't seen them in years... But they are married and have families...." Samous said trying to make the better of the story.

Ivan shook his head as he heard this. THey may be marryed but who was to say that they where happy. He then looked at Ebony, "I think we will have to talk to the head elf and see what we can do about him controling his people better." he said and sounded sure of himself. He was going to make sure that every person and creautre was safe from others and from the vampires.

Ebony nodded and looked at Samous who seemed to be comunicating to Fang threw their thoughts. "The king you mean? No one has had a concil with the new king in years...." he said and Ebony raised an eyebrow. "And why is that?" she asked adn Fang spoke up without opening his mouth. "Prince Trickyious..... His name is a perfect fit. He is a trickster and twists words and people to do what he wants. He took the throne when he was very younge.... Only 500 I think... Now the power has gone to his head." Fang said and Samous threw him another look. "FAng." "They're royals Samous. They have the right to know." Fang said and Ebony looked at him shocked. "You know?..." "We'll keep quiet princess, we sware..." Samous said bowing.

Ivan nodded and thought this over. He would have to have a talk with this new king. He had known the old king but not on a personal note. He had seen him on bussiness when he was with his parents. "I think we should still go. I can probabaly beat some sence into that mindless little thing he calls a brain." he said and looked at them. "and please do keep it a secret, we dont like people treating us differently." he said softly

Samous stood and nodded. "I told you they were the ones..." Fang said quietly. "Yes... I think youre right Fang... Good luck princess, Prince..." Samous said and both he and Fang dissappeared amoung the people. "What did that mean?" Ebony asked confused at the mysterious duoe.

Ivan shrugged and looked at Ebony. "I have no idea." he said and thought long and hard about what they had said. "but we should probabaly leave very early tomorrow so that we can talk to the elf king. He sounds like a trouble maker." he siad as he looked at her but still wondered what the two ment.
