It seems like every day, the internet spirals farther and farther into a cycle perpetuated by hate, insults, trolling, and discrimination.

Is it so weird that I find that surprising? I mean, in the end, every kind of person on the planet can gather here on the internet (except the technophobes, I guess) so why do we all have to point a finger at each other and shout about how annoying or wrong or "fail" everyone else is?

Of course, most of you will probably just roll your eyes in that practiced-perfect elitist way, but at the same time, you know on a basic level that by ranting about another type of people, you're only increasing the hate and bitterness inside yourself, instead of releasing it.

In conclusion, let's talk about the kinds of people you admire and find to be fascinating and interesting. Or maybe you've a story about something that happened that make you feel better about yourself/someone else.

It's because people are looking for fun. If you've never done it yourself, you might think trolling is rude and ridiculous, but it's incredibly fun. XD -hides-

However, the love can be found at these two websites:
www.givesmehope.com
www.operationbeautiful.com

I love them lots and lots. C: They make me so happy and help me get through really tough times.

I've dabbled in trolling before. But it just made me feel ugly on the inside. =/

I'm not a fan of hurting other people for my own amusement.

well, it is the internet after all. you'll have your love, and you'll have your hate. and, all i can say is, if you've seriously have some kind of problem with that, then i suggest getting off the internet and staying off. :/

i usually don't dwell on things, especially over things on the internet. the love and hate in my real life is more important.

Spiteful people do spiteful things where ever they go, and the internet is no exception.
The best thing I can say is to take it with a pinch of salt.

Often it can be easier for people to be mean on the internet, as in a way it estranges them from the person(s) they are ridiculing, or making fun of. Therefore, that is probably why people feel less guilty about doing so even though they may never do something like that in real life.

I honestly try to keep on the god side of everybody. Recently, a nineteen year old over here was jailed for bullying on facebook, and so it is good to see that bad behaviours can have its ramifications, either from on site moderation or the law.

I'm not trying to whine and make people stop being mean to each other. That's not my intent. I'm nobody's keeper so their business is their own.

My point is just that's its nice to remind ones-self every now and then that you don't -have- to be mean just because its the internet.

Well I just think that people are not afraid to say what is on their minds on the internet.
:/ who knows.
But there are millions of kind users on the internet.
It is just the bad ones that stand out is all.

I looked at those websites and it made my day. I'd been really depressed because my boyfriend is being so distant...all of my friends and family say he is going to leave me soon...I read those quotes and it made me bubbly inside!

Because people can hide behind a screen, so they're more willing to be mean than they normally would. Even if they do feel ugly inside like you did, I mean even you were curious and you're not a bad person, you just expressed your inner bully because you don't have to face the victim.

I mean, in real life I've noticed a big downslump even recently. It's probably since I'm not 12 anymore, but like, more people than normal seems so 'life is meaningless, people are evil by nature' Which just annoys me.

It's nothing to apologize for, it's just bad to see people be stupid. D: It's like seeing people walk into a wall. Sucks for them but they got themselves into it.

i agree. i made a group to fight against that, but there's a lot of those if you look hard enough! i think hateful people are just asking to be hated right back.

i dated someone that was an 'e-bully' a long time ago, it made me believe that what they say about bullies and insecurities is true. they usually have more insecurities than they let off and want other people to feel that way too.
