I'm 31 so age don't matter to me I only suggest that the older people keep stay away from anyone underage try to stick to someone within you age group cause let's just face it someone 46 has no business chatin with someone under 18. That's just my opinion

Seriously? You don't think the different generations should mix? Isn't that a little bit harsh? Some of the people on here that I have the best relationships with are people who are young enough to be my children.

I don't think any specific age is too old. As long as you aren't some creepy old person trying to hook up with kids, then you're safe. :]

This strikes me as somewhat of an odd thing to assert. Indeed growing up, it has been highly common for me to have at least one person I talk to who was significantly older than myself. If anything I would see it as being a highly positive thing!

Too many young people are afraid of older people as it is. If they're discouraged from making friends with the older generation, they lose out on a lot of vicarious experience/knowledge and exposure to different types of maturity/culture/etc. Nevermind if they're afraid of older people, when they reach that age themselves they might have issues associated with growing up.

It really depends on where the person is at on the community website.
A forty year old in the GD on gaia-he needs to go somewhere else. Maybe the Life or Extended places. S/he should be more mature and not being in forums in the GD (Gaia only here)
But, people like to recapture the glory days so what do I know?

I agree with this very strongly! Understanding the past is an extremely important part of understanding the present. Not only that, but personal experiences can be an extremely beneficial and interesting means to such an end. From your posts here, I think I like you a lot. Indeed it is a good time to use a quote, which I have been quite fond of lately. :P

I personally have a great deal of respect for people who are able to strike a nice balance. By this I mean, the person who knows when to be mature and when to be immature is subject to my admiration. My Uncle is a key example of this. More often than not, he is quite immature. But whenever something is wrong, he can absolutely be depended on. Besides someone who is occasionally immature is much more fun than someone who is always uptight!

Age should never, ever be a barrier on the internet. Infact, the internet is a stellar way of removing that barrier and hopefully opening some people's eyes as to how closed-minded and judgemental they are being, maybe without even realising it.
Back in April of '08 when we switched to this software I had a desicion to make, because on this software you have the ability to display your age. Previously I hadn't told anyone but the other staff my age quite simply because I was afraid of getting the kind of judgements that are prevelant from younger people online; that I was weird/a sad loser/a paedopile etc, and obviously I had no wish to be judged so.
But in the end I thought sod it! If people are so narrow-minded as to think bad things about me simply because I'm older than they thought I was then that's very much their problem and they need to deal with it.
Personally I think it's a very big eye-opener for some people to find out that someone they've been chatting away with and naturally assumed were a similar age to themselves is actually over 20 years older. It makes people realise that older =/= dead and people don't suddenly become boring old farts that you don't know how to communicate with once they get beyond a certain age. The internet is awesome for that!
For the 13 year olds who are all "GTFO ur 2 old" to anyone who's over 20. Well they just need a good hard kick  But they have all the opportunity in the world to grow up and develop some sense xD

I think that no one should let age affect their opinions on someone. You never know how much you might enjoy a conversation with someone who is older or even younger than you. Yes, you should be wary of perverted people (stalkers, pedophiles, etc.) but those people come in all ages. Not just older people.

I think if you've been on the site for a long time it's not your fault that you grew up you know? Like I started gaia when I was 14, and that seems like one of the most common ages to be on it but now I'm 19 and still on it. xD I don't mind if older people are on the sites it's all just fun stuff as long as they aren't creepers or anything it should be fine. Also some times parents join these kinds of sites to keep an eye on their kid, you gotta keep that in mind too. :]

Your only to old. If you yourself believe that you are to old. I turn 30 this month; and i have just entered the world of online socialization. So i view myself more as a young child who needs to be guided. So here's to being young at heart. :poke:

lol Well, I'll still be around even when I'm in my thirties. I don't care, I may not show up too much, since I don't know if I'll have a busy schedule, but it's all in good fun. Sometimes, it's the smaller kids that need to grow up. They're gonna be the same age some day. And they'll be arguing that they're also never too old. ^ ^'

you're old because everyone says that,
is there an limit age for everything on society?
i don't care about what people think because i like playing with my Nds, xbox or reading comics.(my stepfather is 55 years old and he plays game on computer ) i'm 32 years old, and i don't feel too old for menewsha or gaia site-like.
quite the contrary, i met some friends on gaia with my almost-age

I don't think anyone is too old for avatar sites.
My mom is 57 years old and she goes on Gaia all the time. She mainly goes there to make friends or Roleplay - which is kind of surprising in my opinion.
And, I'm 18 and I still get a kick out of these types of sites.
Mainly to interact and get away from the real world for awhile.
