As long as the sites aren't being used to set up some perverted sort of things, who needs an age limit?

That's me and Juru in a year and a half then, Ren. Say bye bye to two of your assistant admins in 2011 if that is the case...we'll be taken outside and shot for being "too old for the internet".

I'd say there is no limit - it's not about age, but behavior.
There is nothing wrong with 30+, 40+ or hell, even 85+ members, as long as they follow the rules of the site they registered at. But that is the case for everyone, whether 13, 33 or or 73.

Well I just joined and I'm 21...22 in a week. I think too old is when you're too old to see the tiny text on the screen! Just kidding, that's why they make glasses. I know at Gaia I sometimes felt like one of the older ones (at 21, JESUS!) but I really don't feel like there's an age limit. Sites like this turn into hobbies and who doesn't enjoy making gold and spending it on whatever they wish?!

I think it depends on the kind of site it is. You can never be too old for games or striking conversations with others.

Also, having an avatar can be useful if you're online with the possible security concerns and the inadvisability of posting an actual photo of yourself on the net.

For the most part, I think it's the site itself and who it gears itself towards that determines the age limit, not avatar sites in general.

By the way, I'm thirty-two.

I don't think you can be too old, just as long as you're not flirting with the young-uns
Though at 40+ you should be spending more time with your family and not strangers on a forum.
So my verdict is- You're never too old for an avatar site as long as it doesn't rule your life and is just something to have fun with in your free time.
You could probably keep in better touch with your child (if the person has one) if you both go on the same or similar forum sites.
You can keep up with the newest slang, know what's considered cool to kids and teenagers. ect.
Amen to that. I'm 21 myself...going on 22 in November...and as you said, as long as you don't let the forum site rule your life and you aren't flirty with minors, then it's fine.

There is no such thing as too old. Mene holds a lot of different things for a lot of people. From dressing the avatars, to playing games, to participating in discussions. There shouldn't be an age limit on how old is too old to play any more.

Pet sites with older people on them seems a little creepy to me.
But Mene isn't like that.

I mean, sure, it's an avatar site, but it's also a forum. And I think forums are ageless.
Forums are a place for people to come together and talk.
Just because Mene has an avatar next to your post doesn't mean you have to be young to post.

Why would it be weird to play here? Since when does having fun roleplaying have to be exculsively something for young people? We have imaginations too you know. And I like writing My friends know my age and don;t have a problem with it. I don't hide it. My grandson thinks I'm cool.
You are cool and it is cool that sites like this bring all people together and like many say as long as you not trying to rob the cradle its cool just to chat cuz hell you going to meet older people and vice versa everywhere you go and its the content of character that is to be truly judged not the age.....:sarcasm:

I'm 24, married and have an almost 6 yr old. I hang out with the church youth group...these sites keep me up to date on what is out there as well as keeps me having fun when adult things get too stressful. I don't consider myself too old for fun...and even my mother has a blast online on occasion.

I think you can never be too old for a site or a game.

People who enjoy video games as a children sometimes enjoy them as adults and well into their golden years. It's not as if there is an age limit in the rules.

This is the first avatar site I have ever been on. I am 34 and have been involved with online social networking since I was 17. That was before the world wide web became a place to be social. I don't think I will ever be too old. Will other people think I am? Probably. I am willing to stick my tongue out at the people that are sitting around getting old. :P

I think the age thing has more to do with the kind of mindset a person had, for instance I am 21 and yet I still watch cartoons(Saturday is sacred) and I play video games and I play avatar games; I can't help it it's how my brain is set up I have a extremely childish side of me and a extremely serious side of me and those two sides are the ones most often displayed by me because they show who I really am. I think if someone is on a avatar site to just play it and make friends and have fun then they can(I have over 300 friends on facebook and only 6 of them are my friend friends the others are just there for gaming purposes and they know that) it is when people go on avatar sites for dubious reasons(and there are obvious signs) that you have to worry. I am just a naturally helpful, curious and intelligent person who likes to play avatar games and video games in general, I am the kind of person who is okay on pretty much any avatar site; hoever a 46 yr old man is kinda iffy because he may be up to something bad. Anyway my view of age(coming from a 21 yr old girl who looks like she is 16 w/ no makeup on or any use of moistures) is it is all in your mind and as long as you keep that childish part of you alive you can still play games like this..
But I would be worried about that 46 yr old man anyway, I mean why is he on Gaia.
PS I am on Gaia too, under the name Tigrosharu..

I think a 46 year old man is on Gaia for the same reason anyone else is. If he was on there pretending to be a 16 year old boy, I would have really large concerns about his motives. If he is on there harassing children, I would report him. Other than that...I think we have to assume he is having a good time. It isn't childish to enjoy games and hanging out with friends.

Im 18 now and I dont know about you but i have the personality of a kid even when im im 85. I will probly still be here. I dont think there should be an age limit i do think they should divided things some how so that why your not getting an extreme age gap talking to each other. Other wise it might attract pedophiles or something.

I don't think that there is a too old age. There is something for everyone on avater sites and THe older people have more experience in things which is a good asset.

I don't think that there should be an age limit. Just that if there is someone who is older that they conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Like if someone is talking to someone who is well underaged then they shouldn't be flirty or suggestive. Treat it like real life and know that there is consequences to behaving all pervy.

It does not matter to me what age you are. It can bring a lot of people with different experiences from different walks of life together for good discussion. As long as you are not coming on to someone that is underage or sexually soliciting people, you haven't done anything wrong.
