You can never be too old to escape reality by dressing up a avi, role playing a bit or even just chatting with the younger ones.
^^
I'm sure when I'm raising my own children (I'm still a bit too young, 21.) That i'll be on avatar based sites. And hopefully get them hooked onto rping and expand their knowledge. Hell, hopefully even my grand kids!

No. There is no age that's "too old" for sites like this. I find the idea hilarious!!

I don't think there's an age limit. I mean, as long as they're nice and having fun in the community, it shouldn't matter, right?

I think people in general who like talking on the internet like avatar sites. I'm about your age (lover twenties) and like avatar based sites. You can find older people on them too, I know several people who are 40+. As time goes on you'll probably see more and more of them because the tech-savvy generations are growing up.

I am 37 so I am on the older side of things, and I have no doubt that one day I will just stop coming back, it is just the way I seem to do things, but until then, I am enjoying every moment I am here. Also the events keep me coming back, it is always fun to read what everyone is into, and I have been exposed to some wonderful things here. I read a lot in the book forum, and have gone out to get many of the books that are being talked about.
Plus now that I have figured out to play The attack of the fan girls by not watching the game and reading forum posts instead, I think I may be here more than ever before.

I'm 21 with a toddler and I still have time for avi sites. I started playing Neopets when I was 11 and it got me sort of addicted.

I too am 21.
Though I didn't start out at avi sites, but a gaming and rping addict at the age of 11. I don't think I will ever grow out of these kind of things. I enjoy them too much to just completely stop. Though I have to say I do take 'breaks'.

ok I'll be 58 in 4 days and I have been online in Gaia and other places like that for at least 5 years and I expect to keep doing it for quite some time. The only reason it took so long for me to join is we were in the military and didn't actually have internet

I used to RP a lot too. I started that in elementary school with Sailor Moon, fantasy, or Vampire rp's. Everyone has technically rp'ed at some point though. Think about when you were little pretending to be other people. I used to play "mafia" with my brother a lot. It's fun to be someone else sometimes and avi sites can help with that.

I don't think it matters as long as they aren't doing stuff their NOT suppose to.
Then why not? If they enjoy it, why should age stop them?

Personally, there is never a age too old to go on anything really. I am only twenty-one years old. I am still recently new on this website. I have had things like gaia since I was 17 but I have some friends on there who are like in their thirties. It really depends because all my friends who are older are very nice to talk to and very opinionative and I appreciate that. I don't appreciate creepers though which I seldomly find which is great.

Personally I do not see anything wrong with any age attending these sites. I mean what else are you going to do? Watch a movie, read a document online? Sure you can spend time with your family but should you spend EVERY waking moment with them? I don't think so. I think that it's good to have people join these types of sites for any age.
I'm 26 and I enjoy meeting other people online. Is that lame? Personally I don't think so, I think it's lame that we have to live our lives in a mundane world and work an 8-5 job, go home, eat dinner, watch a movie with the kids, and go to bed... Every night. Disconnecting yourself with your imagination is not a safe or desirable thing in my opinion. People die overworking themselves... So why not enjoy my life for a few hours online?

No I don't think you are ever to old. I'm older than a lot of people I talk to on the websites, and most are suprised by my age , I am well over 25+ I simply enjoy the conversations I have had and conversations I have listened to over the last few years. and It has amazed me to see that sometimes some adults that I talk to online act more childish than some of the younger members.
I started off because O loved creating the little dolls and then thought it would be a great way for me and my sister to talk online. it evolved to more after that.

I'm over 30 and have been RPing for over 14 years. I have to say that age is just a number in many instances. I mean, yeah, the 50-year-old man hitting on teen girls is a little creepy, but the 60-year-old grandmother that's just in to have fun is another thing.
Granted, I AM married, as well, but my hubby and I are both on Mene. We don't have kids, so we like to hang out in different ways, and we enjoy this site. And, I stopped the flirting and unnecessary "relationships" many years ago -- there was a time I was too young to be able to discern the difference. I know, I know, pretty sad.
Most people I meet, both IRL and here (InterWebs) think I am much younger than I am. One person even commented to me yesterday that she thought I was like 10 years younger than here (she's only one year older than me, but then ... she has 6 kids). Partly it's good genes, and the other part is because I think I have a very child-like zest for life that translates into younger, but not less-mature, years. ^_^
Besides, my hubby is six years younger than I am ... and most people think HE's the older one. Hehehehe......

I'll be 30 in a few months, and I play on 6 or 7 avatar and dolly sites. I love them, gives me something to do with my spare time.. and there's nothing wrong with a grown woman (or man for that matter) to want to socialize! Er.. Or play with dolls!

Speaking of this, I remember watching the news and some lady who looks liked she was in her early 40's she always spending money on sites like these. and she said she does think it a waist of her time or money.

No I don't think anyone could be too old. As long as they don't try to get anyone's personal information, or do some kind of pedophile stuff, it doesn't bother me.
not that I expect older people to do these kinds of things. I just know it's the common worry of most parents and younger kids.

You are too old for avatar sites like this when you mistake your computer monitor for a billboard and start putting stick it notes on it that say buy cat food.

Doesn't really matter, though I think 10 and under wouldn't really belong in a forum, not to offend any ten year olds ( or under ) I just think this site is more for chatting and so on, But I dunno, I guess it depends? XD

I am 28. I don't think you can be too old. We are people chatting about some of our favorite things. I think it is nice not to have to see faces and have no one judging anyone at face value. Menewshans are so nice and squishy and loveable! *hugs*

i'm 26, and i think i like to guide people on avatar sites when i reach 40-50 +
these sites shouldn't be viewed as to restrict people just cause of age, these were created to give people intellectual fun.
i would like to be here til i'm a wise woman giving advice on how to protect yourself from internet dangers.
that's my aim, and hopefully become a mod in at least one of these community sites.

I think it's valuable to have people of varied ages on forum sites such as this one. Just like any community, the different ages all have important things to bring to the table, and it is a way for different ages to connect and perhaps overcome prejudices and ageism because of the nature of chatting with people you can't see. Ageism extends both ways. I am 28, and I sometimes have to roll my eyes at the antics of the younger set (and quite frequently some of the set my own age). However, I have also encountered mature teenagers who are able to think for themselves and have their heads on straight. I'm a teacher, so it is always a value for me to read the opinions and concerns of teens and apply that knowledge to my students.
