"Is mighty generous of ya to offer me space. I dun wan ya ta feel obligated, I ken tuff it out on deck. But since ya offered I think I just may take ya up on it as long as," Sela paused to wink at Adelia before continuing "as long as ya promise not ta slit me throat or keel haul me while I'm sleepin."

The captain hadn't been expecting her offer to be accepted, but smiled when it was. She even gave a full out laugh from her belly at Sela's joke, "So long as you promise me tha same." she told her. She looked up at the sky. The sun was beginning to fall from it- it must have been about five, five-thirty, she guessed. Adelia looked about, then thought of another idea, "If yah'd like, we kin fin' yah a crater er somthin' to put your share of the goods in an' yah kin stash it in my quarters with tah." she offered.

Sela smiled back and nodded, "A crate 'll be nice for sure, be good to have ma stuff where I knows it is."
Sela pushed herself to her feet and looked at the men sorting through the stuff, "I trust yous ta be splitten this like discussed." Sela took a moment to look each sailor that was gathered in the eye, and satisfied with what she saw she gave a nod and turned towards Adelia. In a lower voice so as not to be overheard by the gathered men, who had gone back to the sorting, "Is there enough food and water on this here tub to last us to port? Do we needs to be discussing rationing?
2 months is a long time of not posting - I'm sorry. If you want to quit I understand - especially since I left you hanging like that.

Adelia watched as Sela gave the order and made sure it would be carried out properly. When she turned to her and asked about rations, the captain nodded, lowering her voice, "Tha way I fig-er it, you couldn' 'ave come aboard at a better time. We jus' stole tha rations from anotha ship, so we got plen'y tah spare. Tha men were lookin' for a little extra at meal time, but I'm sure they'll undastand." she said. "If it need be divided, tha cook'll do it. Jus' tell 'im how many came aboard an' 'e'll make sure there's enough tah go aroun'." she informed the other.
((Eh, I don't really want to quit. So long as you still want to keep it going, we will. If you want to bow out, I have no problem with doing that either. =] ))

Sela smiled and nodded at that news, at least they wouldn't be starving and cramped. "Lemme check with Pete on the headcount- but I thinks there were about 10 of us that made it over. We were sailin light anyways so we 'din lose too many I thinks."
I'd like to try and keep it going now that I seem to be getting back into my Mene groove. - Does 10 seem like a good number?

Adelia nodded and stood there with her arms folded across her front. "Good to 'ear you didn' lose much then." she said, knowing that was lost was just as important: the first captain, and seemingly quite a bit of the crew.
Then we keep it going. 10 makes sense for the amount that could jump ship-to-ship while it was going down, I think.

The talk of the lost men brought back to the front of Sela's mind what had just happened. Her captain was dead, her ship was gone, her life was lying under the waves and she may not find another ship to work on for jabber knew how long.
Clenching her jaw and fighting the wash of cold that came over her at these thoughts Sela reached up and hugged herself and nodded at the captain, "Ifen ya don't mind, I thinks Id like to have some time wit ma men. Take a head count, properly find out who we should be mournin."

Captain Amelia nodded, "O' course. Do it wherever you kin. I'm not sure there's anywhere all yer men'll fit, since I'm not sure how many there 're." she replied, noticing a disturbance in the other woman. Deciding not to press whatever it was, Amelia offered, "Maybe below deck."

Sela nodded and turned away towards the small cluster of pirates that had come from her ship.
When she reached them she took Pete by the arm and led him away towards the stairs to get below, stopped and waved on the rest of the men, and then continued down.
Once out of site Sela turned to the crowd of curious men around her and spoke quietly "Ok, are wes all here? Is this everyone? Do we have any idea whos lost asides the captain? Please, please be good to the men and womens on this ship - they could of left us for dead. Once we land you go and do what you want - but on here I'm tellen ya that ya defer ta me and Capt. Adelia. Got it?"
After some time of quiet conferring the men came up with a list of who was missing and Sela wrote the names down on a scrap of paper she had in her pocket. Nodding at the list Sela took in the few men who were left, "Sunup we burn this list and spread the ashes in da mother ocean. No need to keep the names, ocean took them it can take the names. Sound good?"
I'm so sorry for your loss - take as much time as you need - you know there's no pressure from me for you to get on.

Captain Adelia nodded to the men who looked at her as they followed Sela below deck. They obviously wondered what she had told the other woman pirate to do. They'd find out soon enough, so she thought the head gesture was satisfactory. When they were gone behind the doorway that lead down below, she began barking the usual orders of what needed to be done. She took her palce at the helm, but only stood next to her first mate as he continued to steer. She looked out at the ocean, which had claimed the lives of so many, and even more that day. Though she knew not how many had been taken below the waves to lie for eternity, she knew they were more than should have gone. Whomever that captain was, he was a good man to have such a decent crew. Adelia hadn't witnessed one squabble between her men and the guests, which both surprised and pleased her.
When the woman had calmed down at being in her rightful place, she told her firstmate that she'd be back and she just had to take care of something for Sela.
"Who?" Gergory asked, looking at her with furrowed eyes.
"The woman." Adelia replied simply, knowing that he would understand. When Gregory nodded, she walked off towards her cabin. He didn't ask anymore, and she knew he wouldn't.
Back in her Captain's quarters, she found a crate that would be perfect to store what Sela and her crew had acquired as their share in the last raid. She emptied it's contents into her trunk, which she relocked afterward. She also took the spare mat from against the wall near her dresser. It was a small room, but it was big enough for two cots of a decent size, a dresser, a large trunk and a couple of crates stacked in the corner of the room. There was a small window hole over Adelia's bed. It had always been the captain's room, and that spare cot used to be hers.
As she set it up, she remember the times she stayed up late when she was younger, listening to the captain's stories of his earlier pirating days, before Adelia came aboard. The old man had been like a father to her, and she knew she'd never forget him.
She then left the crate next to the cot, which was a mattress set upon squeaky metal rods, then walked out of the room, locking it behind her. Back on the deck, she walked around, looking out at the ocean. Land was no where in sight.
Thank you. You're basically the one person I don't have to worry about pestering me about not posting. I appreciate it. <3

Satisfied and relieved to have had a moment with the remaining men from her ship Sela returned to the decks and watched the sun as it dipped into the ocean. Taking a deep breath of the briny air she tried to forget the misfortunes of the day and revel in the ocean. Her need to be free and her love of the sea were two of the main motivators that pushed her to join a pirate crew to begin with and she tried to remind herself of that and enjoy it whenever she could take the time.
Since this was not her ship and she had no real responsibilities at the moment she made the decision to enjoy the ride and the view.
Sorry I don't have more for you at the moment- I'm brain dead right now
