Once Becca gets a change of clothes (because I can't find that much peasant stuff), I think I have at least designed an avi for her on the MAC. Of course, I'm putting together -my- first set of clothes first. Five more items to go~ :)

D'aww, thank you! :) I only need 1600g more to finish this outfit, then I'll start on Becca's which is a looooot cheaper. ^^; Then once I do that, I've found a way to make a kimono from scratch rather than buying one of the pre-made ones (good since I don't like the colour options!) So soooooon, I should have outfits for all of my characters. Not that I play all of them on Mene. ^^;

And Bleak disappeared again, so I think I'll go ahead and post Becca now?

As for the compliment on my outfit a few posts back: thankies! I've been searching super hard for something I can add to keep the image but make it look spiffier, but it's so hard. D: not much comes in the brown-green-gold color combo I have goin' on, let alone some steampunky fun.

I was actually going to buy the baker boy cap, but it looked hilarious with my hairstyle. I may take a peek at that brown army cap and see how it is.

Rather than trying to go for items that you'd expect someone going to steampunk to reach, I'm grabbing around for things that pertain the image without any of the 'having it in the label of the item' stuff.

I really want a bit of gold either by my head or by my ankles, but there's nothing that works. D:

Ah, no worries. I was having a bit of trouble, myself, settling into Zolin's character, so more time just means I've got a bit more of a chance to think about what all I want to do with him and all XD; If you wanna let the 1-on-1 fall by the wayside for a bit to focus on this RP (especially since I know you're busy IRL and all =o) I'd have no objections.

I really do appreciate it. Life's been so hectic lately I've been having a hard time keeping up with all my responsibilities. I'm already thinking about withdrawing from one of my classes. Dx Having 18 credit hours of classes wigs you out surprisingly easily. Especially when you don't take fluff classes to counteract things like Arabic.

Arabic? =O How long have you been studying it, and how do you like it so far? It's something I'd like to learn in some theoretical future when I have time and money for courses.

I'm actually attending a community college, so I'm surprised they offered the course. I just wanted a foreign language, and it was all they had left. =P I wanted one with a different alphabet.

It's actually surprisingly fun. The teacher tries to get us interactive in it, and make us enjoy ourselves, and she does a good job. The language itself is a little complex at first, considering how most letters have four different variations on how they look depending on where in the sentence they are plus the fact that our teacher wants us to learn how to identify the letters print-wise and hand-writing wise, but I'm quite good at learning languages so I've gotten the hang of it.

I'm planning on learning Russian and maybe becoming a bit more fluent in Spanish some time later in life. >> and yet I don't want to be a translator. It's just fun for me.

I used to take Arabic (lol for two weeks), and I absolutely loved it as well. I wanted to become an Egyptologist. And then my dad showed me a video and said "This is what they do to women in Muslim countries". I'm not gonna tell you what was in it, because that'd waaaaaay overshoot the line of "Keep the boards kid friendly", but I think that in and of itself says enough. Suffice it to say I dropped the class and the idea. I was about ten when he did that, and I never did pick it back up again, even though in my 'concious mind' I know that that video was an exception and a horrific thing rather than an "all women must undergo this"...It wigs me out anyway.

Ahh well, I picked up Chinese instead, and delight in telling people how easy the language is. xD

Oddly enough, I plan on getting my English major and settling in as a writer. I just feel like knowing other languages is something that broadens my awareness of cultures as well as something that helps me think in ways I'm not used to. I'm big on the whole 'getting smarter' thing. :3

Well, when I gave up on being an Egyptologist, I picked Chinese just for the "why not" of it. My grandmother had been fascinated with China, but by the time the political situation was allowing travellers in, she was too old and infirm to travel, and passed away without seeing it. So I'm going to go for her -and- for myself.

Y'see, this is why my hobby is studying. But nobody believes me when I say that. :P

I've always wanted to learn a language. But only so I could read books in their native alphabet. You loose so~ much in translation, ya' know?

Tried French once but it seriously kicked my butt. It is fun though. =3

Aah, I love learning and such as well. I'd love to just keep learning more and more languages, but I think my mind is hitting the limit there XD; I just graduated earlier this year from undergrad, but I'm not going to grad school yet. In a few years, maybe - I'd be interested in linguistics *O*

I hope you can get to China for yourself and your grandma, Jere. I've been to a handful of places there on a school trip, though the longest we stayed in any one place there was about 5 days. Quite a variety of landscapes and climates, though; I'd love to go back!
