Pinky and the Brain, and Animaniacs. The best of their time, Imo. I really loved watching them when I was little. If you don't know what they are, here's the intros to them:

They were really epic to watch as a kid.

Ooh, I love Animaniacs! My brother, sister, and I would always compare ourselves to Yacko, Wacko, and Dot. It was so funny and random but possibly even educational xD

Swat Kats was great - I also really liked Street Sharks and Road Rovers.

Geez, there were so many great 90s cartoons. Like old school Toonami - before they even had TOM! I remeber watching Sailor Moon, DBZ, Kenshin, Gundam Wing, G Gundam - haha, Hamtaro.

Pirates of Dark Water was really cool... I also remember Sonic being on Saturday mornings.

Space Ghost Coast to Coast was a classic to watch!

Ren and Stimpy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, and Catdog were also some other favorites.

Oddly enough, don't remember really watching anything on Disney.

Yeah, Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain were the bomb. I'm surprised no one mentioned it. Maybe one person mentioned Pinky and the brain, though.

Animaniacs were the first cartoon that said these words: "Hello, Nurse!" :XD

Fun Fact: If you swap the audio on the promo videos for the Mega Man and Street Fighter cartoons, they sync up almost perfectly. I found this out because they're swapped on the first Darkstalkers cartoon DVD.

It's so hard to narrow it down to just one show. The ones I can remember watching are Catdog, Pinky and the Brain, Recess, The Wild Thornberries, Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, Sailor Moon, Doug, Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold, Tiny Toon Adventures, Dexter's Labratory, Powerpuff Girls and Pokemon.
Atleast I can actually watch the Powerpuff Girls, and Dexter's Labratory now on Boomerang.

@ Elysian: I loved Gargoyles. I used to stay up until two in the morning to watch it when it only came on Toon Disney.

But yeah, Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, the original Power Rangers (and the movies too!), Tiny Toons, Batman, Rugrats, Hey Arnold . . . the list goes on.

I just hate what cartoons have become these days. God save me from another Spongebob special.

I agree. Spongebob was decent when it first came out, but with the fame it gotten really bad. It has a crud load of disgusting in its humor and crappy plot lines that don't teach anything. I wouldn't let my kids watch it (if I had any). The old cartoons may have had some violence in them, but at least it was clean and the violence (depending on the cartoon) had clear good vs. evil moral in them.

They need more clean modern cartoons like Kids Next Door and Avatar: The Last Airbender, both of which taught lessons through their morals and didn't really have any questionable lingo.

Yeah, I certainly don't like letting my nephew and niece watch it, but it's about the only cartoon that they will watch.

What bugs me most about Spongebob is how it isn't nearly as subtle as Shrek or the old Looney Toons with its adult humor. Bugs in a dress was pulled off without looking so questionable as the time that Spongebob played Mama for a clam.
