So, I just finished most of a bottle of wine and I have started on the scotch.. mmm... single malt. 1989 Glenrothes. Beautiful. I am terribly bored this evening. And none of my rps seem to be posting.

I've never had alcohol before. What does it taste like?

It's hard to explain. Each alcohol tastes different. Heck, even different wines taste different. You have your bitter and dark wines that have a strong flavor of tannins and you have your light fruity wines. Then you have the spicy or peppery wine.

Scotch is much the same- different scotches taste different depending on where they were made, what sort of cask they were stored in, what sort of peat was used, what well they got the water from- it is really variable.

It is the same for almost any alcohol. Some are good and some are not.

Heck- look at all the different kinds of beer that are out there.

Depends on the alcohol, how it's aged, what's in it and even the temperatures at which it's been stored.

Every little different factor results in a different taste. : D Yay for Moxie's much better explanation than mine.

Hey you guys. I just wanted to apologize for my absence. I have guardianship of my niece now and getting adjusted has been a trial. It's kind of weird going from single college kid to having a teenage dependent.

Hey chickas! I'm uber sorry about my inactivity. I actually found out that I have a tumor in my throat and I've been running back and forth between doctor appointments. My surgery is on the Dec. 9th. So, I'll be really inactive for a week or so following that.

Good luck with your surgery and everything. I wish you all the best. I know how nerve racking it can be waiting for a tumor removal surgery. I had one removed from my leg/knee. I hope everything goes well.
