I'm not completely sure if I believe in Wicca, but I am reading a book about it.

I'm a witch, so I do believe in witchcraft. Ha. The ouji board was oringally called a witch board, and it was used to contact spirits for advice.

We used to do light as a feather in girl scouts all the time. It was the best!

I throughly believe that people are capable of having supernatural powers. I have several books about how to contact spirits for them to lend you their powers, it has very specicfic details and stories of what other people have done with these powers. I also have books of wicca. It all seems very real and interesting to me.

I think it's good to be educated about the subject. Witchcraft has many variations as it is one aspect of Wicca.

@Helios_Skyraptor ~ How long have you been practicing witchcraft? How do you feel about love spells? How many times did the light as a feather stiff as a board stunt work for you and your friends?

@Lovers Never Tell ~ I'm glad there are a lot of people who seem interested in this topic. We actually could go into swapping spells and rituals if people are comfortable and interested in that.

@XxXshizuki-chanXxX ~ Can you give me some titles and author names about how to contact the spirits, that is something that I am definitely fascinated with.

it depends on what you mean by "witchcraft" i don't believe in the hocus pocus you see in the movies but natural energies and the power of the earth and the elements i do believe in.

Ouiji boards though... well i'm not sure what to think of those, i think if done properly they could work but i also think most people move the little thing and say "ooooh... a ghost" lol

Elements and energies that exist all around us is part of it and the ability to meditate and tap in to manipulating that energy is a lot of it. Ouija Boards are powerful tools and not used properly can be very dangerous.

I kind of believe it's the sort of thing where you only can get out of it what you put into it, faith wise. I find witchcraft interesting, with its roots in so many different cultures and mythology and folklore, but I don't really believe in it. At least, not the modern interpretation of it that I hear people talk about most often.

For about six years now, I've been interested in Wicca, witchcraft, Paganism, etc., but I've never had the opportunity to really learn anything. I've never really known anyone who practices anything of the sort. Reading all of these posts have helped me a little, but I need more. [Hungerrrrr *zombie moan* xD] If anyone is willing to point me in the right direction, please PM me. I'd really appreciate it.

Uh, yea. I can kinda-sorta see the future (NO KIDDING), but it's based on my lies. Like if I told someone that a new version of a certain toy was going to have a bigger screen and I knew that it was a lie, then it would come out and the toy would have a bigger screen (this really happened, if any of you know about the Tamagotchi V.5). Is that really witchcraft, though?
I think of it as seeing the future, not something entierly based on luck. Once, I told a kid that he was going to fall and break a leg if he kept going up the slide in a park, and you guessed it, he fell and broke his leg. :0(

My whole family history is based on ninjas and samurais, though.

in my opinion i know witchcraft is something you have to believe in to work and wiccans are pretty cool they do spells and that sort too but any ways they have the three fold law which is what ever spell you cast on some one be prepared to have it come back three times as worse on your self

I believe in magic but not the stereotypical version. I am a solitary witch and don't like to be labeled Wiccan. I guess I follow the OLD tradition.

As someone who has studied this extensively, here are some simple facts. Wicca, witchcraft or whatever you want to call it, are really all the same. They are modern practices of dead religions. Worshiping multitudes of natural, and elemental spirits, and doing rituals to please them, and in order to get things you want in the physical world.

Wicca has no real definition. I've met so called wicca people, who believe in Thor, and Zeus. For the most part it's not even a real religion, with any kind of rules. Some people who practice witchcraft call themselves wicca. I think that at present the word has become trendy on some subcultural level. It is a way for some to make themselves stand out.

To others it is a true religion with laws, rituals, and taboos which must be followed to the letter. For instance the power of three, was not something the writers on Charmed came up with. It is a real belief held by many Witches, and warlocks. Also the belief that using the power for personal gain will come back to hurt you is quite common.

All else aside, these practices are quite dangerous. Many people have gotten themselves hurt by exposing themselves to these spiritual forces. My personal advice would be stay away from such things. I have the experience under my belt to tell you so.

I started out as a christian girl who was so against everything that "daddy" said was wrong... but then I started to pay attention to some of the things I was doing and I realized that I was doing Magick. Then I started to do alittle dabbling with what I was already doing. Like making barriers. (When I was younger, my stepdad tryed to look in the bathroom window at me when I was in there, and he couldn't see in at all. He would storm back in the house and beat my mom, screaming at her that he couldn't see in. On time he even had a friend of his look in the window and his friend couldn't see in either. Luckly my mom's not with him anymore!) Then I went to live with "dad" and that was when i realized what I was doing, and I started to do other little things.

About three years ago I was introduced to Wicca. And I thought that I found my path. But the more that I learn about it the more i feel incomplete.

But to answer the original question, Yes I believe in Witchcraft. Instinctivly I always have.

I honestly do believe in witchcraft. Not that all of it is “Satan’s” doing though. I truly believe that magic is all around us in the earth and in each of us. I don’t believe that many people who claim to be able to tap into that though, and make things happen, are being truthful though. Especially psychics, I don’t believe most of them either. Though I do believe there are those special people who have powers or who can relax and tap into something we can just imagine. //end babble

It depends on your definition of Witchcraft. I don't really think that somewhere out there there's a bunch of people shooting each other with lightning bolts from their hands and turning into cats or bats or owls or anything....I mean...I think that'd be pretty sweet and all, but I doubt it.

But I do believe in magic. I mean, really. We can try to define everything about the world and Universe in terms of science, but I don't think we'll ever be able to. Why? Because I believe there's more to it all than scientific laws. There are so many mysteries that we just dismiss as psychological illnesses, tricks of the eye, and delirium from sleep deprivation. Did you know that they categorize the believe of otherworldly things and magic and such into a mental illness? Honestly, I think that's BS.

Nor do I believe that religion has much to do with it. Religion just seems to have different names for such phenomena. In Christian terms, one may go so far as to call it the Holy Spirit? And I don't mean this as any disrespect toward God or Christianity. I'm Christian myself, but I guess I'm a bit different from the basic Christian sense of the word. But, really. My mother's a Reiki practitioner and has a license and such, and she's used it...once on me. It worked, but she did it right before my violin lesson and I couldn't get over the feeling of it. I experienced something very similar years later during a T'ai Chi class, who took what one may call magic and named it energy, or Chi, or Qi. This same feeling may then be transferred to a more religious sense and be called a whole slew of other things depending on the belief system.

So, yes. I believe in magic. I believe that there are forces out there in the Universe that will always remain a mystery, whether they work within our bodies or outside of them. There are forces that we have yet to learn to tap into to experience, and it doesn't matter what you call them to me. Magic, Energy, Gods, etc. They exist.

As for things like Ouija boards and such? I really don't know. I used it once or twice and it worked. I've had Tarot readings, and one took years to happen, and the other was just scary to listen to 'cause I knew it was true.

What does this mean to me? That you have to be open to the idea for them to work. Just like how you're not ever going to break a board unless you actually think it's possible (you can say, "oh, no. I could totally do that." But I've seen people who were every bit strong enough to break up to 4 boards at a time, but couldn't because of one second of doubt as their fist neared it). Just like you're not ever going to run a mile or finish that essay unless you believe you can. The forces are there to tap into, but if you close yourself off to them, I highly doubt they're gonna come pounding on your door to force you to acknowledge them. They'll just keep moving right along, doing whatever it is they do.

Taking that I am Celtic Pagan...I'd have to go with a big yes on that one lol...I do it all read runes, tarot, palms ect...I have been a practicing witch for about sixteen years now. So I would also have to say that I'm rather serious about it lol. Although I am also really interested in Tibetan Buddhism for quite sometime as well...and believe in a lot of the same basic tenets of that religion as well. ^_^
