I seem to have a hard time keeping my teeth white. That's what I get for not brushing my teeth as a kid. Now, they're not nasty, but they could look a lot nicer, methinks. Anyways, anybody know of any good ways to whiten your teeth? I know there are a lot of products out there claiming to have teeth a dazzling white within a week, but do they really work?

I've never tried any of the products that claim to whiten in X amount of days, but lately I've been brushing twice a day with Crest ProHealth, and my teeth are whitening, slowly but surely.

tooth paste is probably the safest and healthiest way to go about it. It'll take longer, but I can't seem to think all those teeth bleaching products are actually good for your teeth or the enamel on them

I've heard peroxide works, but it's supposed to burn like hell. =x

Toothpastes with natural ingredients like bicarbonate of soda will brighten your teeth gradually. They taste a bit odd until you get used to them but there's nothing in them that's nasty and harsh like is in the bleaching kits that you can buy.

My teeth have always been a dingy white color, some people's bones are naturally that color and you actually have to bleach your teeth in some instances, which the dentist does.

I bleached my teeth...a few years back at my dentist.

I didn't like it. The only thing I liked was results, but how they did it? Not so much. It burned, and the process are aggravating as it took a few hours to complete. Plus, after awhile, I had to touch up what they gave me. Wearing a mold-thing for six hours just to touch up? Uncomfortable. Even more so because the liquid got on my gums.

=|

My mom insists on my teeth being movie star white. She'll bitch at me, buy me whitening strips, etc. I'm more concerned about the HEALTH of my teeth.

do you drink coffee or sodas like pepsi or cola? ditching them will help.. as well as not smoking.
there are many foods and drinks that make your teeth yellow, just avoid them
and use whitening toothpaste and sooner or later you'll notice the difference :3

I quit drinking pepsi max and people say my teeth look whiter..
I do drink coffee, but I usually drink a glass of water after that.

Most people's natural teeth colour isn't white, but slightly off white, like mine. I don't worry too much about it. Whiteners only work by stripping enamal off the teeth, which isn't good for them.

I just brush my three times a day. Thats right, I brush my three time. When I get up, again around midday, and right before I go to bed. I use a whitening toothpaste. I don't think using those strips or anything would be worth the money. I just carry a toothbrush and paste with me in my car and sneak off to the bathroom and go brush. Once you get them to the whiteness you would like you can drop back down to two brushing, but just remember to brush your teeth everyday.

This is good advice they say. I used to use whitening stuff, but it has made my already thin enamel thinner. So i recommend sticking to using whitening toothpaste and maybe if you really want, i think they have a whitening mouth wash. Its gradual and probably lasts longer.

Somehow that's a problem that has never occurred to me. Probably because I don't drink too much coffee or smoke. I also brush my teeth regularly at night (daytime when I can if I'm not rushing). So strips are things that I've never needed to use or find necessary.

My teeth are not really white, but not very yellow. probably more on the white side. I just have learned to be happy with my teeth color. My mom doens't want me to whiten my teeth because she doesn't like the unnatural look of very white teeth.

Peroxide?
That definitely doesn't sound safe.
