"It's a good thing," Talianda said, turning and hugging Janu. "Thank you."


Pre'acha'n nearly laughed. Why did kids react that way to baths? He loved feeling clean. Speaking of, he realized he hadn't bathed yet. Damn... too long in this form and I forget about one of the things I like best about the human. I need a bath... He flew down from the rafters, heading upstairs and shifting to his human before standing at the top of the stairs. "Hey! If the kid doesn't want a bath, Oni, maybe you could show me where they are?"

"Hello Saorla. I'm Oni. It's nice to meet you," he said politely. He watched the boy squirm as he was picked up. The boy did seem to be in a bad mood and Oni thought maybe he could cheer him up. "If you want I can bathe with you. They have something like a bath house here. It's kind of like a big tub for everybody. It's fun!" he said excitedly.

"NO! I'M GOOD!" Dante shot nervously. That was the last thing he wanted right now. If he got in a bath with a group of naked men... he'd rather be surrounded by angry women with a bad temper and very heavy and devastating purses. At least one wouldn't make him blush when he thought about it. Right now, Saorla was his only lifeline. Hopefully she wouldn't turn on him. He really, really hoped he wouldn't.

Oni could feel how nervous and agitated the boy felt. Unknowingly he frowned. . .why did people feel uncomfortable around him? He missed Xanic so bad. He said quietly, "I'm sorry." He walked away and headed for his bedroom. He hoped Rain wouldn't notice. For the first time he wanted to be alone but he still didn't want to be locked up.

Saorla raised an eyebrow at the woman who'd come over, telling 'Tir' to tell Dante something for her. She didn't quite understand, though she fully figured that this 'Rain' person knew Dante's secret as well. When Oni suggested that he and Dante bathe together she merely shook her head. "Not tonight, Oni. Maybe some other time. This one doesn't play well with others." She laughed softly before glancing down to Dante, lifting a brow again. "Where to?" She asked softly, shaking her head at the obvious expletives spewing out of his mouth in what she assumed was his native tongue. Oni looked a little sad as he walked away, and Saorla couldn't help but feel a little guilty.

Pre'acha'n touched Oni's shoulder as he passed. "Hey, you said you know wher the bathrooms are? Could you show me?" he asked. "Please? You could even bathe with me, if you wanted."

Oni paused and looked at him. It made him feel better that he wanted to be around Oni. Oni smiled again and said, "Okay! It's upstairs and it's really big and nice!" He went to grab his hand but stopped remembering that most people here didn't like to be touched. Oni realized something and said, "I don't know your name."

Dante blinked, staring as Oni backed down with that pitiful expression and walked off. No... had Dante... really hurt him that bad? Quilt welled up inside of him as he tried to find an answer. He was terrible with these situations..."Dammit..." He lolled his head back and slapped his hands against his face before squirming and slipping out of Saorla's grip. He landed by her feet before looking up at her solemnly. "I... I'll see you in a bit, Saorla..." He groaned at his decission and covered his face with his hand again, following Oni with a sence of doom and gloom.

He got up the stairs quickly and grabbed unto the boy's pant leg before he could run off, holding him back. "I'm sorry. I don't want you to be sad."

Pre'acha'n smiled, grabbing Oni's hand. "It's really Pre'acha'n, but I don't mind if you call me Brendan. They're about the same, one's just the English version instead of the Gealic," he said. "I really don't care which."

Oni couldn't help himself when the boy told him that. Oni gave him a big hug and then held onto his hand smiling. He said, "Come on. We can all take a bath! It'll be fun I promise and it will make you feel better. It always makes me feel better!" He turned to Brendan and said, "I like your name. Brendan this is Tir. Tir this is Brendan and were gonna all take a bath together." Holding one hand of each of them Oni dragged them to the bath.

Pre'acha'n let himself be dragged along, wondering if they had robes here somewhere. "Hey, Oni? Do you know if they have something for me to change into afterwords? I don't have any other clothes, they kinda got lost in a fire a few weeks back..."

Rain stiffened at the dark presence then looked up to see something behind Tal and Janu, she starte dto say something when the creature grabbed for Janu.




Good” Janu said softly, hugging Tal briefly with a blush. She then leaned against him a moment. Something was bothering her and she wasn’t sure what…something…. It made her feel nauseous almost…like the world was moving…and the shadows were. The feline wrapped her tail around him suddenly, feeling gold.


The shadow cat smiled from the nearby shadows, watching Oni as it drew upstairs. It stepped outwards, just behind Janu. It figured that everone else was being too subtle….He’d just grab and take off with her. It went and grabbed her hair, pulling her backwards which caused her to let out a scream. She quickly elbowed him which caused him to grunt in pain.

Talaianda roared at the creature, reactions just fast enough to let him know what it was. He shifted, biting down on the arm that held Janu's hair, fangs just missing the bone. ~I will not allow you to take her!~ he telepathically sent to him, but loud enough that anyone else could have heard it.


Pre'acha'n spun around at the sound of Janu's scream and Tal's roar. "Shit! Hurry up, get somewhere safe!" he said, turning to usher them away from the sounds.

Dante blushed as he was hugged and dragged along. He kept his head bowed, hoping nothing bad would happen. Well, no one would do anything to a little kid, but he was paranoid about that kind of thing. One thing he really could not stand in this world were pedophiles. Well, he didn't have much strength at all as a kid, he could hardly fight back. Even Aikido only helped you to a certain extent.

The scream from downstairs rung in his ear. He looked back, biting his lip. The perfect escape, that is, if Oni would let him go.

Oni grabbed the little boy in his arms and did his best to carry him into a room. Oni wasn't very strong so he was sure it was hurting the boy with how he had grabbed him. Closing and then locking the door Oni said to him, "Don't worry they won't let anything bad get us." He held the boy close hoping nothing came upstairs.

"Gh!" Dante didn't liked being grabbed and jostled like this! In fact, he hated it to every extent! He gripped whatever part of Oni he could in order to save himself from being strangled or pulled at strangely. He was a bit disoriented, but finally they stopped. He took a deep breath and looked around the room they were in, trying to make sense of everything before looking back to Oni.

They wouldn't allow anything bad to get to him? His eyes narrowed in thought. Oni was an 'emo' after all, or, to make things more clear, his other half loved to torture the first half. He heightened his guard, slipping his hands from where they had been once before in order to place them in front of him. Oni's arm had been right near his neck, after all. His arms would help him at least halt suffocation. "Is that so...?"

Janu felt herself fall forward and shuddered slightly as she hit the floor. She looked up towards the two, seeing him rounding on Tal. Her one real friend anymore, the one who cuddled her and make her feel loved.. She tried to stand.


The cat let out a soft growl but simply pulled out a dagger and tried to stab towards Tal without looking at him. He was focused on the writhing feline and frowned. Didn’t even try to use her powers…Could she really be the Master’s daughter? She was pathetic, he thought as he tossed her forward and away. He then turned towards Tal, deciding he at least wanted one good fight first….He turned to Tal.

Talianda saw the knife coming, batting it away with a defined gust of wind. ~It won't be so easy, especially if you can't breath!~ Talianda sucked the air out of the space around the shadowcat's head, also tearing at the arm he still had in his jaws.


Pre'acha'n ran back towards the stairs, jumping top stand on the balcony and watch what was going on. Dragon has his arm... It's a shadow cat... How can I curb it's power... Get rid of the shadows! Fuck, think of a spell to do that... Pre'acha'n closed his eyes, muttering a norse chant under his breath. Get rid of the shadows by bathing in light...

Oni looked him seriously and said, "Yes we will be safe so don't worry." He kept a hold on the small boy not wanting anything to happen to him. Oni nuzzled him lightly and smiled saying, "Don't worry Oni is your new big brother and he will do anything he can to make sure your safe." He tried to pretend for the boy's sake that he was much stronger than he actually was. Oni knew he wouldn't be able to do much if anything did happen but he didn't want to boy to be scared.

Dante chuckled lightly and gave a weak grin as Oni nuzzled him. He at least had to play the part. No matter how much he hated it, he had to act like a child. "Oni is big. I'm sure he can protect me." He lied before breathing deep and relaxing in the boy's grip. What was going on downstairs? He was so curious. If only he had that memory reading ability!

Xanic came out and held tightly onto Dante and whispered in his ear,"I know about you."That was all he said and then he pushed Oni back out Oni blinked a little confused. He looked at the boy and he seemed to be okay. He had a little black out but it seemed nothing had happened. Quietly he asked, "Did something weird happen?" He hoped if he asked it that way it wouldn't scare the kid.
