Rin couldn't hear anything still and he looked at the full vials. "Allright this time it has to work. Grey word: Deconstruct." The spell did not work and instead the room filled with smoke a bit. "OH god damnit." Rin yelled rushing to the door to let the smoke out before people would think there was a fire in his room.

Rain was glad as he stayed behind, wanting to keep him safe. She didn’t’ care about his fighting skill or bravery, she preferred fighting on her own in all honestly. She soon reached the door to Rins room, an eyebrow raising. As the smoke began to seep out the bottom of the door rain threw it open with a water spell ready at her fingertips which was causing her nails to glow slightly blue. Seeing Rin, however she could see there was no battle…and no fire.

Oni waited patiently and hope everyone and everything would be okay. He wondered for a moment if he should go turn the stove off but figured it might be best to wait here in case he could help with anything. He didn't hear anymore bangs so hopefully things had been all right.

Rin turned and looked at them with his right eyebrow raised slightly. He was wearing a pair of glasses over his eyes with rectangle lenses, and he had a pair of headphones in his ear. He pulled the earphones loose the loud music still blaring inside them. "Well that was quite an entrance. I didn't realize I was so popular, and also what brings you to grace my presence this evening Miss Rain I thought you would be busy with whatever the devil her name is." He mused and in a rather upbeat voice. He said as he tossed another pair of used vials into a large growing pile on the floor.

Rin's room looked like a simple one on the outside, however once inside it was a room suited for a mage such as himself. Bookshelves everywhere an alchemy table which was what he was standing over when she kicked the door in. Everything elaborate and slightly outlandishly expensive looking. The way this room looked did not fit or seem like a room Rin would own at all, but it was his and secretly it was his haven from everything and he loved it. "Well don't just stand there if you need something do come inside Rain my dear."

“Explosions tend to attract attention, even when distracted by Emeriya” Rain suggested simply, tilting her head to the side. He was being unusually light and cheery, she observed absently. Letting her hand and magical energy drop she walked to the vials, looking over them a moment. She hadn’t much expected that but was coming to the conclusion he had done an experiment of some kind.

Putting her hands in her pockets she leaned back, calling out to Oni “It’s alright, just an accident… Better check on the steak before it burns though, by then you should be able to come up and the smoke should clear.” She shook her head, half smiling to herself. It seemed that the usually rather grumpy mage actually did have a more active side. Turning she held her hand to the door, wordlessly casting one of her spells as usual to fix the damage she may have done. “You startled the hell out of Oni” She observed with a chuckle, letting herself relax. Ever since she thought she sensed….that terrible warlock around she’d been rather on edge herself but wouldn’t admit it.

Rin yawned "I think I have gotten bored with myself being all too uptight about things. all mr. serious all the time." Rin pantamined a person in a suit and tie trying to be professional. "I guess that is why they did what they did to me. I am way too carefree for my own good I suppose." He said acutally smiling. "I mean don't get me wrong I don't have any faith in people or society still, but I suppose I can still have some fun with you guys before you all die away." He said with a chuckle. He pulled out a chair from his table and mimiced his hand showing off the table. "Do please have a seat hun. I would not want you over straining yourself, and it is rude of me to not offer you one in the first place."

((SO you guys are not like WTF. This is the real Rin before all the mental work was done on him and such. Yes he was this cheerful and at the same time bleak enough to hate everyone that was not close to him))

Oni heard Rain called down that all was okay. He gave a sigh of relief and ran off to the kitchen. Luckily nothing had gone wrong and the steaks were still good. Turning off the stove he put the steak on some plates. Now that was done he could go see what had happened. He ran upstairs toward were Rain's voice had come. He asked just as he rounded the door, "What happened Rain?" Then fell silent when he saw it was Rin. He still felt uncomfortable around the man and came to the conclusion it would take more time before he ever would be comfortable around him. He stepped back and said quietly, "Sorry for intruding." Then he bolted back downstairs. He called up to Rain, "I'm gonna go ahead and eat k!" With that he headed back to the kitchen. Oni not wanting to wait for the meat to cool stuck it under some cold water till it wasn't so hot. Once he had done that he didn't bother with a plate or fork and just started taking bites out of it while holding it in his hands. His thoughts were a bit dark and gloomy and eating was a tiny bit comforting.

Rain listened to him a moment and raised a single eyebrow but simply nodded to himself. She lightly teased, “Then I guess we do agree on something.” As he spoke of being too uptight. She couldn’t imagine he found much enjoyment in life when he was being that way…how could anyone? As he offered her the chair she glanced at it, debating between curiosity, dinner, and attempting to comfort oni.

Finally she sat on the chair, putting her arm on the table, and her other on the back of the chair so she was lounging in a rather cat like manner. First she’d settle her curiosity… “Honey I never strain myself” She stated with a laugh before asking, “So what’s with the explosions anyway?”

Rain glanced towards the door as she heard Oni come in, managing to give him a small smile. She watched as he left quick as he came, tilting her head to the side and simply looking sad a moment. Honestly she couldn’t blame him having mixed feelings for the man, but she still wished she could do something more then simply stand in silent understanding. As he called up she called back down “Okay Oni….don’t forget yoru salad.” She half teased in her voice but was still musing inwardly.

Janu walked into the kitchen slowly, heading for a piece of fruit when she saw Oni. “Hi” she said softly and waved. She stood next to the refrigerator, giving him a shy smile before beginning to go through it while her tail waved absently behind her. She was starting to become more comfortable with her form…and wasn’t’ really all that sure why.

Rin had already started starring out at the sky for some reason. He loved the night's sky. He heard her but didn't want to pay it any mind. He finally turned back around. "The explosions were a result of trying to deconstruct materials. I was trying to come up with something to shut out their conditioning on me, and so I can finish trying to figure out everything they did to me." Rin started to stare at his hand. "I hated it they did what they did to me cause they said I have no focus. I ask you if I have no focus then how was I able to break their spells, and bindings?" Rin was lost in thought about his hands for some reason because he was staring at them in the light as he talked.

Oni gave a weak grunt in reply and kept gnawing at his piece of meat. He promised himself he would eat salad since Rain, and technically Dante, had asked him too. He wanted to give Janu a better hello but he was in a bit of an upset. He didn't like that he felt uncomfortable around Rin but he just couldn't help himself.

He ate the last bit of meat and looked up at Janu saying,"Thanks for the doll Janu. . . it really means a lot to me. Also thank you for helping me make the doll for Dante. He liked it a lot. Lukas took me into town today and we even got real wrapping paper for it so it looked nice." He told her feeling a little better with company that was safe ground for him. He got up and washed his hands. Then he put a tiny bit of salad in a bowl and began to munch it down.

They probably cared more about their control then your focus…” Rain responded with a shrug as he asked her about focus. She knew about people who wanted control…every scar on her body a living testament to the fact. She frowned inwardly at the thought before glancing at his hand. Interesting…how he turned it in the light as if he’d never seen it before. Shrugging absently she glanced towards the vials, tilting her head to the side once more. Deconstruction…..interesting.

Janu glanced to him as he grunted, she stepped away from the refrigerated with fruit in hand. Within moments she sat down next to him, worried a little but being herself unlikely to say anything. As he cheered up the feline smiled warmly, blushing at the comment of the doll she had made. “It was fun to craft again…..sounds like you had a good day with Lucas” she said the last with a giggle.

He blushed a bit at the Lukas comment but said honestly,"I had a lot of fun with him today. He makes me feel special and I care about him a lot. It's sort of hard to describe but he just makes me feel like everything is okay no matter how bad it really is."

He finished his salad and asked Janu,"Did you want something too Janu? I could make some meat for you." He felt bad for not offering earlier.

Janu smiled as he talked about Lukas, happy to see him so content. Seeing his blush even the naïve feline knew exactly why he made ’everything better’. Honestly she couldn’t be happier for him, love… such a sweet emotion when returned. She shook off the thought, however, as he asked about the steak and nibbled on her fruit a moment longer. “Maybe just a little Oni…” She said politely, though she wasn’t sure if she should..

Oni got up feeling good that he could do something for her. He got the stove going just like Rain had showed him and put a smaller piece of meat on the pan. He looked at her smiling and said, "Rain showed me how to use to stove so now I can cook too." Oni was proud of his little accomplishment and wanted her to know what he had learned. Not thinking he said, "Lukas took me to this place in town that makes good food. You should come some time and try the pancake things Janu."

Janu flushed, thinking of going into town rather scaring her actually. She knew from going with Arina once that she wouldn’t be bothered as much as back home but she still felt cautious. Focusing on what he’d said earlier, however, she forced her mind on the more pleasant subject. She smiled and said quietly “Learning new skills is always fun…. I’m a terrible cook though.” She then laughed, knowing it was true…she was notoriously terrible in the kitchen.

He looked at her and said bluntly but honestly, "I liked what you made for me. Besides didn't you say I was your lucky charm?" He gave her a smile. He thought about something and asked her, "Janu why did you come here? I mean the inn and all. Was it just by accident sort of like Xanic and I?" He was curious about her and wanted to learn more about the cat lady.

Yes… you had to be lucky for me since I didn’t burn the meat for once.” Janu admitted with a giggle. As he spoke of why she’d came here, however, the giggling stopped a little. The simple truth was she wasn’t going anywhere but more running away from something. Such had been true ever since the shadow cat creature had forced its way into her life. She didn’t want to say it, however, and said instead a shy “Yeah…something like that. It sure is nice here though huh?”

"Yes it is," he said and gave a yawn. "I'm sorry Janu but I think I'm getting sleepy." He went up the cat lady and gave her a smile and a hug. He then said to her, "Janu and Oni are family now. I think I would like that."

Janu blushed but hugged him tightly in return and said with genuine happiness, “Me too….yes Oni we’re family now. “ She then hugged him one more time before she stood, finishing her meal before she too would head off to bed… ((lol it’s okay xD I probably won’t be holding out much longer either.))

Oni was glad she liked the idea and considered him family. Oni wanted a family and now he was getting one. He walked up stairs and into his and Lukas' room. He wished Lukas was not working but at least he had been able to spend the day with him. Changing into some pajamas Oni crawled in the large bed and curled up with his Xanic doll. It was comforting plus with the scent of Lukas on the bed made things even better. He closed his eyes feeling safe and drifted off to sleep.
