Oni watched as Lukas ran off a little sad. He was trying not to be too sad since he had gotten to spend so much time with him lately. Oni trudged on inside and plopped on the sofa. He watched the fire dance in the fireplace.

Talianda shifted back and got the pants back on, walking inside and looking around. He saw that Oni was on the couch, and Ti was at the bar with Rin. A huge dog was in there as well. Shaeka. What do I say?

Oni saw Tal come in and wondered what he was gonna do now. Maybe sleep, Tal slept a lot it seemed. Oni knew Rin was near by and whether he liked it or not it made him nervous. Luckily however Ti was there as well. Ever since his brother's death having Ti around felt like a safety net and he couldn't explain why. Ti had said he would tell Oni later but he wasn't about to go up to him with Rin there.

Rin started walking back up the stairs and looked at oni as he passed. "You have to get over this innane fear of me. I did what was asked of me and the only option at the time." He said walking up to his room without waiting for a response he had more work to do and now was not the time to idly sit and chat. He walked back into his room and sat down in front of his lab table again. The unholy ground had disappeared from earlier.

Oni froze when Rin talked to him. Oni realized he had to get over how he felt about Rin but saying it and doing it were two different matters. It wasn't his own feelings he had to over come but what remained of Xanic's feelings toward the man as well. Oni mainly was scared of him but Xanic hated the man and those feelings mixed becoming hard to tear apart. Obviously Rin wasn't planning to hurt Oni or, Oni was sure, he would have already. He could have even done it when he killed Xanic but he hadn't. If what Rain told him was true then Rin had actually saved his life while sadly having to kill Xanic. He just wished he knew how to get rid of the feelings he had.

Talianda watched as Rin said something to Oni and left. "What was that about?" he asked, walking over and sitting next to him. "I missed something." Again...

Oni held on to Tal trying to get a hold of himself. He said quietly, "Rain and Rin were the ones that tried to stop Xanic. Rin went inside our minds and tried to stop the blending but it didn't work. He tried to bind him but that didn't work. Xanic was trying to stop Rin so he could keep doing the blending and Rin had to defend himself. . .he killed my brother. Once Xanic died I got some of his memories and feelings from the partial blend. I'm a little scared of Rin because of what he can do. My brother hates him and I have both of those feelings inside me. It's hard for me to be around him but I know it isn't his fault. . .it's just hard." He spilled it out all in one go since it still hurt badly. It had only been a few days since Xanci's death after all. He clung to Tal's arm determined not to cry.

Talianda blinked, letting Oni spill everything out. "Um, I really did miss something, then. But I don't know how to help."

Oni forced a smile and looked up at him, "It's okay Tal I don't know what to do either but I'm glad your here. The flying today was really fun. I've spent a lot of time with Janu and we decided to make the people here our family. Tal would you be my family too?" He hoped he would say yes.

Ti watched the mage as he spoke, ready to help Oni if need be, but relaxed as the Mage went back to his room "Hermit" He muttered. He felt the warmth of the liquor hitting him, it was nice to let loose and really feel the effects of alcohol every once in a while. He looked back to Oni and Talianda, a softness crossing his face as he felt pain and sadness coming from Oni. He sighed and looked to Dalcha, then stood, making his way over. "You are going to feel a lot of confusion and pain. It's only natural to be when you lose someone close.... Your situation may be more complicated, but the emotions are the same." Dalcha nudged Oni's hand with her nose, wagging her tail slightly as Ti spoke. "Don't try to change the way you feel, let it happen, then let it go." He said, a small smile on his lips as Dalcha tried to cheer Oni up.

Talianda stared a moment, then thought. "Yeah, I've already started thinking of this place as a home before the mountains. Why not?" He gently wrapped his tail around Oni, smiling. He kept a wary eye on Ti, though, still not knowing what to say to him.

Oni couldn't help but give a genuine smile with all the warmth and good feelings he was receiving. He laughed as the dog nudged him and gave it a friendly ear scratching. He looked at Ti and said, "Ya maybe that's best. I feel bad that I feel like this but it's just too hard to make myself talk to him."

Oni looked over at Tal and said, "I know, it is like a home. It's the first real home I've had and I like it. I'm glad we're family, it makes me feel good." He felt the tail go around him and felt more at peace.

He glanced back at Ti and asked, "Ti, um I've been wondering a few things. Like how come when you're near me I feel like things will be safe? Also how can you speak to me in my mind but nobody else can? Tal tried today but I didn't hear him at all." Ti still made him a tad nervous but more like a student in front of a teacher when they don't want to get an answer wrong or look stupid.

Rin went to his bookcase and hit a latch causing the bookcase to fade away revealing a shelving unit full of vials toxins and other components. He picked a few off of the shelf and went back to his mixing unit. Placing the vials in and hitting a button he waited for it to finish.

Ti looked into Oni's purple eyes, his flashing gold as he thought of how to say it. Unfortunately, the liquor had it's effects and his thought pattern wasn't working as well as it should. "Well, to put it bluntly, I took you away from death. Your brother tried to take you with him in his anger and hate for Rin, but also because of love. He was trying to protect you, but he didn't realize that he didn't need to protect you from us. His motives were warped... and honestly, I didn't know what was happening until I walked in the door and saw you laying there." He looked to the floor, remembering.

Oni listened to him and knowing what a lot of Ti said was true. Xanic had been losing his grip on reality thanks to the Director. It hurt Oni to think of Xanic going through that but he had to keep focused on what was going on now. He glanced at Ti and asked, "So you didn't know what was going on, only that I was dying? But. . but how did you take me away from death? I don't understand?"

Talianda listened, curious. Ti had saved Oni from dying? And Rin had hurt Oni trying to help? The whole situation was confusing, and not being there for it was a major part of it. Though, it might have been confusing even if he had been there.

Ti looked back to Oni, then to his wrist. "I didn't know how or why you were dying, but I knew you were. You became part of the family here and I wasn't just going to stand by as you died for no apparent reason." He strayed for a moment before continuing, "I shared my life essence with you, I tied you to my blood." He reached a hand out, lifting Oni's wrist, showing the matching marks. "I stole you from the reaper, you don't belong to him yet." he gave a weak smile, his eyes seeming sad for a moment before flashing gold.

Oni curled up close to Tal when Ti spoke. Oni wasn't sure if it was what he said or how he said it, perhaps both, but it seemed a little frightening. He didn't try to move his arm from Ti's hand. He tried to appear brave and said quietly,"Wh. . when you say that you tied me to your blood do. . does that mean w. .w . . we shared blood?" He had hoped but failed at sounding unafraid. If they did share blood, how? What did it mean?

Rin's next mixture was complete and he looked at it. He downed it completely and waited for the results. after a few mins the spell had come back to him. "Power word: Reinforce" he watched as his chair turned to steel. Rin let himself smile because he finally had a spell that was defensive in nature.

Talianda put an arm around Oni, stifling a yawn as he did so. "I'm sorry, Oni, but I need to sleep. I hope you don't mind, though I suppose I could pass out here..." he said, settling into the couch and closing his eyes. "I don't think you have anything to fear about it, it sounds like he's the one who kept you here to have a family..." He trailed off, falling asleep.

He let go of Oni's wrist, averting his eyes again. "I... I drank a mouthful of your blood, then bit myself, I pressed the wounds together, binding us by blood, as I used a spell to give you the life I had. It sounds kind of redundant to me, a vampire of any type is dead, and thus needs life from others, but here I am giving life to someone." He chuckled. "I will never hurt you Oni, you are like my child now, it's not like as if I had turned you, but to me it seems stronger than that." he looked to the Shikasha as he fell asleep, Dalcha sniffing his face and licking his fingers as he did. " When I did that, I knew what I was getting into, and I'm sorry if you don't like what I have done... but I am not willing to take it back." He said, looking Oni's eyes once more.

Oni was able to meet his eyes and got that safe feeling again even though the idea of sharing blood was a little scary. Ti just made him feel like it was okay. He said softly, "No. .it's okay I'm not mad. It's still a little confusing for me but. . but I feel like nothing bad will happen to me when your around, it's nice." Oni had a secret hope and wondered if it would be okay, gently he asked, "If it sort of makes me your child. . . does that mean your my father now?" He hoped it did. The Director has always sort of been their father and he turned out to be the one that really destroyed Xanic. He never cared about them. Ti though, Ti saved his life and Oni felt safe around him. He looked at him with wondering purple eyes.

Ti couldn't help but laugh at the innocent eyes of the boy. He smiled a bit, but then pain crossed his features. He lowered his eyes for just a moment before the smile returned, and he looked to the boy. "Well now, I suppose it does, doesn't it?" He said, the smile warm but the pain remaining in his eyes.

Dalcha went back to her food, scarfed down the last of it, then trotted back to Talidanda. She sniffed and licked his face again, wagging her tail and perking her ears as he made a noise and moved a bit. She watched him for a moment, then curled at the foot of the couch.
