Velvela looked at the scroll Demari was spreading across the table. Her eyes flicking back and forth between it and her family's plate or shield or whatever is was. She knitted her brow, looking from that to the knives Lusalma presented. She wasn't sure what to make of the whole thing.

She looked at the map again and pointed to one of the landmarks on it. She tapped her finger over it a couple of times,"I think I know where this is. About five or six days walk along the south ridge heading away from the village. I think...I could be wrong...the rest doesn't look very familiar." She frowned moving her finger from the map, "It would be a starting point at least."

Lusalma scowled down at the irritating letter not knowing whether she should ask the others if they could read it or not.... deciding that for now she would keep it a secret Lusalma folded the letter back up and slipped it into a pocket in her vest. Looking up when Velvela stated the knowledge of a ridge on the scroll Lusalma perked up and opened her mouth to excitedly inquire when they would be going when she paused...

Lusalma was hit with the realization that she still had not returned to her foster family and she still had the materials bought from that family's money with her... looking sidelong at the piles of 'stuff' piled near the door Lusalma frowned and squirming with a guilty conscious looked up slightly to ask with a soft voice, "I still have my family's materials to deliver before I can go, but can I come?" Looking down at her twisting fingers Lusalma stilled and waited to see whether she would have their support...or have to hitchhike behind them, because whichever they chose she was going!

Demari blinked a little "Well I mean...they are your knives...and it's your scroll. If we did go...why would you ever assume you couldn't come" He asked looking a little amused at her reasoning. He leaned back in his chair a little, "Y'know I think we should really check this out...its very rarely that you get so many different pieces of a puzzle thrown in your lap"

Rad gave a slight nod of agreement and picked up a slice of bread, picking at it a little.
"You should go...It almost seems fated and ...It may come in useful later" Rad muttered pulling of a large hunk of his bread slice and popping it in his mouth, "And your young...young people should always have at least one adventure in thier life time..amiright?" He asked glancing over at Velvela's parents.

Lusalma glanced between the men as the alternatively assured her that, yes, she could and should go. Relieved to have such a strong backing Luslama smiled and nodded her head in understanding to their reassurances. Clutching her fathers letter even closer to her chest she watched the surrounding people, who had reassured and fed and helped her with unselfish consistence, and nodded.

Putting the letter on the table she spread it out and looked down at the indecipherable markings and glanced up again with a slight blush sprinkling her cheeks. Looking down at the letter Lusalma looked at the surrounding individuals through her eye lashes and smoothing the paper in a nervous gesture murmured, "I know this letter is from Father, it has his signature at the end, but I can't read what he has written...I can only read Common and some other languages that are helpful in the market place...I can't even recognize the origin of the language, can you?" Having finished her embarrassing admittance of ignorance she glanced to the side, hoping to avoid and disappointed or even disgusted eyes...like her foster family gives her.

((Sorry for the long wait, Thanksgiving and now Finals are coming up for this semester...but once this week is over I'm free for winter break for 3 weeks ^.^ hopefully I will put longer and more consistence posts in than ^.^;))

Vevela grinned at Rad and shrugged off handedly. She had responsibilities with her family, but an adventure before it was time for her to settle down would be fun. "I suppose it is a sign. Though I don't know how useful I'd be on an adventure- unless you need someone to cook your something out of nothing." She smiled, tucking her hair out of her face.

As Lusalma showed her letter, Velvela leaned over to look at it. She simply shrugged. "I have no earthly idea. I have more of a head for numbers than for words- And that is plain indecipherable to me." She laughed with a shrug, unconcerned that she couldn't read it. Though, given enough time, she thought she might be able to decipher some with patterns and what not. "I guess I'm not worldly enough to read it yet. Maybe on our adventure I'll have the opportunity to learn."

She turned to her parents, "So, can I go?" She blinked at them, canting her head to one side expectantly.

Her parents looked between each other, their eyes half filled with concern and half with pride. "I don't think it's out place to stand in the way of fate. Though, now is not the safest time to travel…" Her father eventually said, laying a hand on Velvela's shoulder. "Can you at least wait 'til the rains have eased?"

Velvela frowned slightly, "But that could be forever…you know how the rainy season can be…" She sighed, her logical brain telling her that it would be safer to wait- the passes were treacherous enough without the rains. But her emotional brain had already kicked on and she was full of curiosity and spirit. She weighed the idea of the pass washing out from under her against the idea of the adventure that lay out before her. She frowned again and sighed. "It is dangerous, isn't it?"

" I wonder if this place is going to be any diffrent" She thought to her self with a sigh. Closed her grey eyes a moment she shifted her weight as she ajusted the bag she carried. Pulling the hood up more she glanced around the city streets as she dodged her way in and out of the stalls. Finding a alley way she sat the bag down sitting a top of it to catch her breath.. she had traveled a long time and was in need for a rest. Dusting her self off she let out a breath wipping at her forhead as she took in her surronding. " well... This is sure going to be different then what i am use to..but that's not a bad thing.." she smiled as she sat back to watch the people moving about

OOC: Sorry guys I'll be in and out randomly till christmas. Sorry it took so long to update and tell you. Been kind hetic round here.

Rad took a deep breath and stretched himself in his seat "It's only dangerous in the Valley when the rains come...If you were to travel along the cliff tops, towards the desert it would be flatter and safer. The rains only seem to flood the Valley the desert just get a bit muddied up." He said stretching a bit, "But the rains are a bit of a blessing I imagine...it gives you a bit of extra fresh water for your journey into that harsh arid climate" He added. Rad made it a point not to look at the letter, dismissing it with a small wave. The little tinker could read it, but he did not want to, or to even mention that he could.

Demari glanced over at the letter, "I don't think its any sort of language like we use.." He said eying it quietly "Maybe a code?" Though he was just guessing a little he really wasn't sure,"But its like Lulsalma said...maybe we'll figure it out once we get there..."
