She nodded and smiled. "At least," she said, "but it's going to hurt to move for a while." She looked down at her lap, "I'm sorry about this. It doesn't usually happen like this. I guess it's just bad luck or something, but... I really sorry."

He shook his head as he started the engine. "it's not a problem. it'll give me time to get to know these two. they seem stuck to you like bugs for the most part."

"I can understand why Mal is," Eva said, "but I'm not to sure about Akane." She yawned. "What time is it? The sun was about to rise when we set off this morning."

He shrugged as he pulled back onto the road. "he's really criptic with me. something about great power."

Akane looked up, unsure he wanted her know this or not.

Malichai frowned as he looked out the window. "there isn't an easy way to put into mortal terms what he's after..."

Eva shook her head. "I won't ask then," she said, "I don't know if I could retain he information right now anyways." Her stomach grumbled. "We should eat something. Since dinner was interupted last night I offer you breakfast in its place."

He nodded. "sure."

He absentmindedly turned the radio on and flipped the channels for a moment before settling on a song he liked.

"jeeze this hasn't been on the radio in forever!"

Eva smiled slightly. How long had it been since she'd been able to listen to the radio? She'd almost forgotten about music since she never got to listen to it. She ducked her head ever so slightly in time with the music. She began singing with it.

"Growing up, you don't see the writing on the wall.Passin by, moving strait ahead you knew it all. But maybe sometime if you feel the pain. You'll find you're all alone, everything has changed. Play the game, you know you can't quit until it's won. Soldier on, you can only do what must be done. You know in some way you're a lot like me, you're just a prisoner and you're trying to break free." She bobbed her head, somehow keeping her sore hips perfectly still with the motion, taping her fingertips against the armrest of the door.

"I can see a new horizon underneath the blazing sky, I'll be where the eagle's flying higher and higher. Gonna be your man in motion, all I need's a pair of wheels. Take me where my future's lying, st. Elmo's fire burning up, don't know just how far I can go..."

Andrew chuckled slightly. "you ever try out for a tallent show or anything? you're amazing. have you heard this song before?"

Akane grinned at this a moment and Malichai's eyes widened. she'd never sung in front of others before and he knew that if she was aware of his presence she'd have never ever sang anything.

Eva blushed as though she hadn't truly seen him until that moment. "E-er... I don't sing very often," she said, "I gave up on it ages ago. I... just really like this song." She looked down at the handle to the car door as though it was the most fascinating thing in the world, terribly embarrassed.

he smiled and reached over, patting her hand softly. "maybe you should pick it up again. you have a lot of free time now that everything's taken care of you know. you don't have to rely on it to pay bills. it can be just for fun."

She ducked her head a bit more. "I've... I've never actually..." she looked out the window, "I've never actually sung in front of anyone before..."

He blinked at her. "wow. you should more often. you sing really well."

akane smirked. "with that kind of a voice i bet you'll want to do some role play with her ha?"

Andrew glaired into the mirror and Malichai simply rubbed at his temples. sometimes Akane was just too much for him and he found himself more tired by the minute.

"maybe i can help. i write songs but i don't have anyone to sing them and i can play the violin."

he'd already forgotten about the incident at the lake that had made her fear him. to him living with a demon was natural.

She stared at him for a moment. "I can't imagine it," she informed him, trying to see him playing a violin. "I played my mother's keyboard when I was little, but... I don't know..."

he chuckled slightly. "we irish have a way with music and the violin is something we're taught from very early on. the one i play is two hundred years old. it's still got the original strings too." he then glanced at Akane in the mirror. "not another word out of you demon!"

Akane grinned sheepishly and srugged.

Eva stared, then looked in the back seat. "Akane, hm?" she said, "poor Mal. But the violin... my grandmother used to play. She was going to teach me, but died before she had the chance. But what does the violin have to do with being Irish? I thought the traditional Irish instrument was the bagpipe?"

He shook his head. "for the upper class i suppose but it's marked more for Scotland. the violin was the poor mans instrament. before it became popular it was the poor mns entertainment and sorrow. in irish folk music, the violin the fiddle, and the flute are the most prominent."

"I see," Eva said, looking at him again, "would you play the violin for me?" She tilted her head to he side with curious eyes. "I would love to hear it."

He bit his lip. for some reason, maybe it was her shyness twards him, but he felt shy about playing in front of her. however, he nodded. "i'd love to. any particular request for a song?"

akane stuck a finger in his mouth and made gagging noises. "love sick* he hacked. "stupis puppies."

Malichai smack him over the head. "prick!"

Andrew blinked. "Malichai..."

Malichai looked up. "oh fuck off, i was allowed to swear when i was an angel. i just didn't out of politeness. i'm not a perfect being anymore..."

Eva tared at him for a second. "Is something wrong with him?" she asked, staring because she couldn't see the other two.

Andrew shook his head while Akane burst into laughter. "he's just using some...words that...well...oh geeze why is this bothering me? well anyway he's using some not so angelic words....told me to fuck off...."

Eva frowned. "Maal..." She looked into the back seat, "I know Akane's annoying, but really..." She shook her head, "just hit him or something. He probably deserves it anyways."

Andrew chuckled a bit nervously. "he already did that...three times today alone."

Malichai smacked him again.

"no...make that 4. and trust me, you have no idea just how annoying Akane can be."

Eva tried to frown, but the thought of an angel repeatedly beating a demon over the head in annoyance nearly brought her to tears of mirth. Before she was cone she was crying from the pain in her hips as well.

Malichai said nothing and sighed deeply as he went back to stareing out the window while Akane was laughing nearly as hard as Eva had been.

Andrew went back to paying closer attention to the road. they finally pulled up in the drive way and he caught a glimpse of a small child in the window. looking back at Malichai he frowned deeply. "okay what's with the kid?"

Eva looked at him in surprise, then looked back a the house. "He's so tiny.... and white... how on earth did he get in?" She opened the door and made to move out before she remembered how much she hurt, her teeth clenching together with the pain as she hissed slightly through them.
