She continued to poke at her salad.
"I hate it...so much. I would rather put needles in my eyes."
She rolled her eyes and started poking the hot dog.

Casey smiled a little at the way she was just poking at her food now, "So why do you do it?"

She continued to poke but looked in his eyes.
"Everyone is busy so I have no choice."
That of which, was true. Everyone was with family or friends.

He tilted his head, looking back into her eyes, "What do you mean?" he asked slightly confused.

She continued poking...but then stopped.
"If I'm not with friends, I have to go with my dad."
She said, explaining it again.

"All your friends are busy then?" he asked in disbelief, "No way, there's like fifty people sitting with you at this table!" he hyperbolized with a laugh.

She shrugged and pushed her food away.
"They're hanging out with eachother."
She rolled her eyes. None of them really got along that well.

"Really?" he was very perplexed by this, "Well, there has to be someone you can hang out with... right?" he asked, watching her. He half wanted to say she could hang out with him during this weekend, but then thought that might be a little weird.

She shook her head.
"Nope. People offer me...but they're all those people."
She pointed at the other tables and shivered. At one of the tables, boys stared at her, which actually did scare her. She had seen them in a car at her house before.

He tilted his head and looked around, "What's wrong with 'those people'? I'm one of those people..." he said, looking at his fellow geeks and nerds, the weird kids and the kids who kept to themselves. The unpopular kids, mostly, and the 'invisible' ones.

She lifted one side of her lip.
"You're a stalker?"
She said, she was very close to walking away.

"What? No!" he laughed a little, "All those people that you pointed to, they're not just stalkers. Some of them may not even be stalkers. Some of them are just geeks and nerds, or kids who think they're invisible... Maybe you just don't understand." he was afraid of this. At that point, Casey thought it may be the best idea to just walk away, but he had to explain something first, "We all can't be popular or have nice things, and some of us don't even have decent families." he said, looking back across the cafeteria, "Some of us are oblivious, and don't know how to deal with people. Some of us, it's other people who don't know how to deal with us. But we're all people. We all have souls. So next time you think about 'those people' remember they are indeed people."

Casey looked around. This school was no different, people just couldn't understand them, couldn't understand him, "I think this is a good point for me to leave, since you don't want to be around 'us kind of people'." he said. He looked at her, waiting for her to tell him to get the hell out.

The entire table sat in silence, staring at Casey in disbelief.
"Oh..."
She said quietly. Everyone else was trying to hold in their laughing. She looked down at the rest of them and glared. Suddenly, the entire lunchroom was quiet. About 400 eyes stared at them. She just nodded and stood up. She grabbed the plate and threw it in the garbage. She crushed the can in her hand and walked out as whispers filled the cafeteria.

Casey smiled a little, he hadn't been expecting her to be the one to leave, but it was a gratifying feeling. He hated when people were so stuck up that they looked down on people who meant nothing to the popular kids, and the invisibles and the losers felt that way- like they meant nothing to anyone.

Casey stood up and looked down the table, finally realizing everyone had been watching the scene. He looked at the faces at the table and said, "It was a pleasure meeting all of you." flatly. When he threw is food out, people were whispering, and they were still looking at him. He spoke loud enough where some people could hear him, at the least, "I apologize for disturbing your lunch." he said, walking out of the cafeteria as well, towards his locker.

He had never stood up to anyone like that before. Casey couldn't figure out where the confidence came from, but he liked it. It wasn't going to last, of course, and he knew it. Eventually, her friends or fan club would show up and hassle him, probably rough him up a bit. He could hold is own in a fight, he had learned to, but the ton of people she just ate lunch with... he wasn't sure he could hold up against the entire table. He felt kind of bad for making her walk out though, along side his pride of it. He hadn't meant to make her upset in the first place... but she did insult him first. He really was one of those people, and always would be. He'd never be popular, it just wasn't his style, he didn't know how. He was destined to be a creepy or invisible quiet kid in the corner for the rest of his life.

She stormed into the bathroom and slammed the stall door shut. She sat for a few minutes thinking over her options. She could, confront Casey screaming, confront Casey calmly, sabotage his life, or, do nothing about it. She eventually decided to confront him calmly, which would end up in a fight, but she didn't care. She walked over to her locker and grabbed her books. Then, she walked over to where she thought Casey's locker was, judging by alphabet.

She spotted him from down the hall. She felt bad, yet she had to tell him what was wrong. She walked down the hall and thought out how to stay calm. She walked up to him and leaned against the locker next to his.
"WHAT THE HELL?!"
She yelled. She wasn't going to be calm.

((OOC: How can you do it by alphabet when you don't know my last name yet? Lol))

Casey heard someone lean against the locker, when he looked at her, she screamed at him. He was surprisingly un-phased by it. "I could ask you the same thing." he said calmly, "Did you expect to insult me and that I would not say anything? The fact you're really pretty and from what can tell, popular doesn't give you the right to treat people like dirt because we're different from you. Like I said, we have souls and feelings too." his voice never lost its calm. He looked back in his locker and grabbed what he needed and shut it, looking at her for her rebuttal. Casey didn't know how, but he was doing it again- he was sticking up to someone above him on the social-status chain. He was impressed with himself, but the need to apologize was slightly creeping its way into his mind.

She stuttered when she was thinking about what to say.
"How was I supposed to know your social status?"
She was starting to calm down a little bit.
"Look...I'm sorry...I didn't know that I was insulting you. It was an accident."

"But it wouldn't have stopped you from feeling that way even if you did." he said. "I didn't mean to make you run out like that, so I'm kind of sorry for that, but at the same time, I thought you were better than that." he put his arm over his head against the locker and leaned on it, leaning his face closer to hers, "Did you ever even stop and consider what it's like to be one of us?"

She nodded her head slowly.
"Actually...I do...I used to be just like you...do you know how many years it's taken me to get where I am today?"
Her eyes started to tear up.

"No, and if you've become this shallow, I don't care." he told her, coldly. [b]"If you used to be one of us, you should know how bad if feels to be looked down upon like you did to us in the cafeteria, and you shouldn't be so nonchalant about saying that stuff about us."

She nodded.
"Yeah..."
She looked away at the ground to her left.

"Yeah what?" he asked. She wasn't being very clear. Whether it was she was upset or whatever, Casey didn't know.

She didn't want to look at him. She always ended up making out with people after fights, and she knew Casey wouldn't do that. She just looked at the ground still.
"I should watch what I say."

"Yeah," he said in agreement, "you should." He shook his head, "And now that I feel like absolute crap, I'm going to class. Kay?" he said, pushing himself from the locker and turning toward where he thought his class was.

She looked at a clock that was down the hall.
"Why? There's still ten minutes of lunch left."
She slid down the locker to the ground. She felt stupid and rude right now.
