Ai didn't reply for a moment, "Yes, I said you could do what you want...but it does not require me to answer your questions." He blinked slowly, "I will allow you any offense, but I will not talk."

Then you’re an idiot….” she replied, leaning against him. Kari couldn’t figure out why he could be such a fool….what did he expect to happen from her telling her? She sighed, kissing him again gently a sadness in it that wasn’t there before. Why did people always have to lie to her…. “And offense…I guess you don’t like me then and I’m just pushing this on you…” As kari said it even she didn’t know if she was really joking or not.

Ai smiled bitterly, "i never said that. Either way, my feelings don't matter, you forget the master servant relationship bit of my oath don't you?"

Why should I remember it when you don’t listen to me anyway.” She replied a little sharper then she meant to. Kari then leaned her cheek on him, hiding against his chest. For a moment she whispered in a soft gentle voice few ever heard, “It matters to me….I’m not my father…I won’t do something like that….” She shook her head…forcing him? No….she had seen what that kind of thing did to her mother…she’d rather walk away right now and never see Ai again…….and they both knew how much that meant…

"But what if I did reciprocate your feelings? And if I agreed to it?"

That’d…that’d be ….different. Look Ai stop playing games.” Kari said now, blushing a little and looking up. She stepped back, putting her hands in her pockets and trying to look angry. She didn’t know what to think he felt anymore and the Halfling was not much for confusion. She studied him, trying to figure him out but so far not having much success.

Ai turned his head to the side, a passing breeze ruffling his hair even more, "Of course..." he murmured, "What am I doing...?" He turned his head back and his eyes met Kari's, "I'm sorry, for everything, but...maybe it would be alright for me to be selfish for once..."

What was he doing? She’d love to know. Kari sighed inwardly, tilting her head to the side. As he spoke of being selfish she raised an eyebrow, studying him from head to toe though she quickly stopped as it reminded her of what she’d seen moments before and she WAS trying to stop blushing not start. “Selfish? What do you mean….Ai….” She sighed and glanced down, wishing she knew what to do. Kari was feeling almost meek from her confusion…and she hated it.

He shrugged, "Exactly what i said." He stepped forward and placed his hands on her hips, pulling her closer. "I'll be greedy for once."

Kari shivered as he touched her hips, leaning into him with a blush. She wrapped her arms around him, studying him in thought. For once no tease came to mind, her eyes on his without a single move. She smiled a little, excited….but unsure. What was he up to?

Ai let his eyes travel upwards, towards the sky, and he quickly judged the sun's distance from the horizon. He sighed and let go of Kari, "That'll have to wait I guess...I need to be going and this time you really can't follow me." He took a step back and then disappeared into the growing shadows of the forest.

He didn’t want her to follow…fine…she wouldn’t. Kari thought with a sneaky grin. She closed her eyes after stepping into an empty dorm and leaning against the back of the door. She focused, deciding to try a trick she’d done with the light a thousand times before…..but this time with shadow. From a shadow behind ai formed a small cat made of shadow, kari’s self within so she could see and hear through it. She couldn’t do much in this form…but enough. She followed behind him, sticking to the shadows so she couldn’t be seen.

Ai stopped walking and stood silently for a few moments, when nothing moved he sighed and turned around, staring at the cat in the shadows, "I mean it Kari, this is something outsiders aren't allowed to witness."

For a moment she sat silent, refusing to move a moment or acknowledge him. Finally she bounced up onto his shoulder, looking at him with her dark blue eyes. “Only if you promise it’s safe…… and that you tell me something about why you’re being stupid about me ‘not understanding’ rather then talking about it…” She then stood up on her kitty legs and crossed her ‘arms, for lack of a better phrase, She tried to look like the last was what mattered to her most…..but it was likely they both knew that him coming back to her was the important part.

Tabitha blinked and watched as Ai and the girl left then she got up and started walking to her own room, Akuma was off in space somewhere and she wasnt going to disturb him. Once she reached her room she choked back a scream, her clothes were thrown everywhere and her mirror was shattered. she picked up one of the pieces, "What the hell....." then she thought, "Allie...." she shook her head and started picking up the glass pieces, she hoped she wouldnt draw any attention when she moved the glass which made suprisingly alot of noise.

Ai smiled softly, "I can promise that it's safe but...I can't tell you what I'm doing, not unless you were a part of my clan."

The sound of glass made Akuma snap out of his reverie. He quickly walked into Tabitha's room and watched as she picked up pieces of glass, "Why bother?" he asked and then snapped, the glass picked itself up and reassembled itself into the mirror frame, flawless once again.

Tabitha jumped and almost slipped when Akuma spoke, "I see you've come back to earth" she giggled to herself, she remembered an old vampire she stayed with for a while said that when she spaced out. When he put the glass back she tipped her head, "Um thanks" she said and turned around, she started picking up her clothes and putting them back. When she pulled a shirt off of her bed something silver caught her eye and she picked up a sliver dagger, "Oh i remember this" she said in a soft fond voice.

Akuma walked over to her side and cast a glance out the window, "I would ask you to elaborate, but I'm late to a prior engagement, I'll see you later hm?" He pulled her backwards into a brief hug, careful not to get cut, and then left, carefully slipping a charm bracelet onto Tabitha's wrist.

Kari in her cat like form tilted her head to the side, sighing softly. “Sometimes I think it’d be easier to just leave you to the fan girls who actually like all this mystery crap…no matter how good a kisser you are.” The Halfling said with a shake of her head, letting the form disappear in a flicker of shadow so her awareness would return to her real body.

Hearing the glass she stepped back towards the other room, opening the door to peak in on Akuma and Tabitha. She watched as Akuma for a moment, crossing her arms and pouting. “Of course he gets to go,” She muttered before looking and waving to Tabitha in greeting.

Tabitha moved the dagger and hugged him back and then smiled, "yeah okay, i have to clean up here anyway" she laughed but it sounded hollow, when akuma put the charm bracelet on her wrist she held it up and looked at it, "Whats this?"

"Protection. So I know you're safe." was the whispered reply. And then Akuma found himself next to Ai. "You're late." The other boy said. Akuma smiled and rubbed the back of his head, "Yea, Guess I am."

Ai shook his head, "Safety charm?" he asked. Akuma smiled sheepishly and nodded, "Can't hide anything from you, eh?" Ai turned his eyes back straight ahead to the shadows, "No, not when you are of my clan."

Pretty bracelet.” Kari said absently, hearing about the safety charm part. She half smiled, walking towards the window and glancing out. She wanted to walk out there right now and it took all her will not to or to take a peak. Kari created a ball of light, bouncing it back and forth in her hands as she looked at Tabitha and resisted.

Tabitha jumped again, "um thanks" she said softly, she had her room almost finished, "Um i dont mean to be rude but who are you?" she flicked her red eyes onto the girl, watching her play with a ball of light. Then turning back to the mirror that akuma had just fixed she sighed. "Its just going to get broken again" she said to herself.

Kari, Ai’s friend.” She shrugged, not knowing what else to call herself. She put her hand in her pocket, bouncing the ball of light in one hand absently. Kari then looked at the mirror, walking over to it a moment. She touched the ball to the mirror, watching as the light spread over and surrounded the mirror and held it in an invisible sheath. “Now it wont” she said cheekily. “It’ll catch moonlight funny though …” She trailed off, looking for something to do while she waited.

"Shit..." Ai coughed up blood and spat it onto the ground, then he glanced at Akuma who wasn't in much better shape, "Next time we call in back-up." He muttered. Akuma nodded back.

Akuma winced as he watched Ai get kicked in the stomach and fly backwards into a tree, nearly cracking its trunk in half, withought another thought Akuma jumped onto Ai's assailant and quickly took him out, "How many more?" Ai looked up, "Not many, you just took out the head, they'll be completely lost now, let's finish this quickly."
