Ai soon found himself perched on a wall watching Kari punch things, no emotions showed on his face and no sound passed his lips, he just sat and watched. He had completely given up.

Akuma let out a breath and tilted his head back, peering up to the night sky, "When's all this drama gonna end?"

Kari paused a moment, breathing hard and closing her eyes briefly. She leaned forward a moment and simply tried to calm down. “Ai….” She whispered softly, shivering a little as her voice broke slightly. She still cared for him, she’d tried to beat it out of her mind but….she was nearly in love with him and she knew it…Kari whimpered softly, telling herself not to need him…that she couldn’t need him…

Ai's expression softened to one of unimaginable sadness, "I'm sorry..." he whispered. The wind caught his words and they drifted to the ears of the girl below. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back, letting the wind caress his face, his hair catching the gleam from the moonlight, tears made their way slowly down his face.

Hearing the words Kari glanced up, looking towards him and curling her battered hands into fists. “Then do something about it….” She said softly, before glancing away a moment and closing her eyes. “Tell the truth, stop running…..Or is that a clan thing that says you cant.” She hissed the last, stepping back a moment. “I…Nevermind, just forget it.” She whispered almost apologetically turning around and rubbing one of her painful hands a moment.

Ai opened his eyes again looking at her, tears still falling, he smiled sadly, "I can do nothing anymore." He watched as she rubbed her hands. He sighed and slipped off the wall, falling a couple feet before landing on the ground, he made a small bottle appear in his hands and he caught a couple of his tears in it before walking over to her. He carefully poured the liquid onto her hands and watched as it glowed a light blue before he returned to his position on the wall, "Nothing..."

Kari bit her lip, looking at the vampire as he spoke. She looked at the glowing blue light, “What…what did you just do?” She asked quietly. She then looked up at him again, responding now to his words. “You can do everything….. You just choose to be an idiot and give up. You could have so much and just like all of them you throw it all away! And for what? I’ve never seen you happy so it sure as hell can’t be that.” She yelled at him, his giving up pissing her off more then anything else….and making tears fall from her eyes in sorrow.

Ai brought a hand up and caught a few of his own tears in his hand and then fisted his hand, "I never do anything for myself. So of course it wouldn't be for my own happiness. And noone can do everything." He opened his hand and in it sat a small flower, "I chose to give up merely because I have nothing left to give. My life will remain meaningless til my last breath." he watched the flower float away on a sem-strong wind and then stilled, his eyes darted to Kari's figure, "Assassin..." he muttered and then appeared in front of Kari, his face an emotionless mask once more.

They can do enough… “ Kari responded sharply, watching as he took his tears. She reached up as she saw the flower, startled by it. She looked at it a moment…….small…delicate…what she could trust no one enough to be. The Halfling shook her head, “ You have you….but you don’t value that so why the hell do I.” She half asked the question to him but was mainly asking herself. She looked up as he spoke, raising an eyebrow. “What?”

Ai let out a mirthless laugh, "I don't even have me." replied before grabbing onto Kari's shoulder and making her duck, a small dart whizzing past where her head had just been, "Cowards." he said out loud, "They know they can't take me head on like this, so they choose to remain hidden..." He then turned and jumped into a bush, followed by a short scream. Then he came back, hands covered in blood, "There's more." His eyes darted around and then they widened. He ran in front of Kari, "Forgive me." He murmured and then winced as the sound of flesh ripping filled the air.

(I use then to much...and I hurt Ai a lot huh?)

Kari let out a gasp of surprise, anger filling her. Could she not talk to him five minutes. She bent next to the vampire, knowing with her energy would likely make her pay but not caring. She erected a shield of light and added one of her personal surprises. It‘s surface would repel the bullet…right back at who ever was attacking.
“You idiot…” She whimpered softly, kneeling next to him. She instantly put her hands on him, beginning to heal him even as her fever was returning. She didn’t care… She loved him….she knew it then. She pushed her energy further, whispering to herself “You can’t…you don’t even know I…you can’t”

Ai gently took her hands away and shook his head, "it's no use, I was wrong. They weren't sent for you, they were sent for me." He reached back and pulled out a dagger, it let go of his skin with a painful squelching sound. On the dagger was a clear liquid, some of it tainted with his blood, "Holy water..." he murmured, "Won't hurt me unless it gets under my skin...I wonder who told them that? not many vampires, least of all assassins, know." He got to his knees rather slowly and then closed his eyes, sending calming energy into Kari, he let a small smile crack his lips again, "You'll need it love." Then he got back to his feet and looked at the shield, "Let me out."

“No….. You’ll just do something stupid.” She responded, gripping him tightly as she stood behind him. She wouldn’t let him go, thinking a moment. She closed her eyes, simply holding onto him tight. She had to find a way, she would find a way….

"As long as your life is in danger I have to, even if it is 'stupid'. I'm not trying to be a knight in shining armor or anything, it's just the way I am." Ai murmured, "It's something I can't change." He tugged lightly on her arms, "Come now, I promise I'll come back."

You’ve promised me before…” Kari responded sadly, holding him even tighter. “I can’t…I can’t let you go…” She whispered, still not wanting to say it…because if she said it…then it would become unchangeable to her…The woman closed her eyes, her energy lifting so both the light and shadows seemed to flicker gently. They couldn’t….couldn’t take him.

Ai smiled to himself, "I know I have, I've always come back though right? Maybe not completely unharmed, but I've come back." He sighed when she didn't let go and turned around, wrapping his own arms around her, holding Kari to his chest, "I don't lie unless completely necessary, you must understand that love." He pressed a small kiss to her forehead and whispered even softer, "I'll regret this for the rest of my life..." Then he hit the pressure point on the back of Kari's neck and carefully laid her onto the ground after she had blacked out. His expression turned dark and he let out a feral growl, "I'll kill you all!" he shouted into the night, his dark eyes flashed and soon the night sky was filled with screams of pain and ripping flesh.

You never keep yourself save…and don’t call me love…you don’t…” She responded shakily, Kari knew he was up to something but said nothing, her eyes on those in the shadows. She felt trapped, wanting to shield him but also wanting to attack those who would dare threaten him. She then heard the whisper, her eyes widening. ‘don’t’ she whispered before the touch, her eyes closing and the shield disappear with a flicker…several bits bursting into shards and heading towards the attackers only to disappear.

Ai gently put Kari into his bed and drew the covers over her, tucking her in before he retreated into the corner farthest from her. Only then did he dare look at himself in the mirror. He looked like a monster. He closed his eyes. He was covered in blood, the blood of those he had killed. He didn't deserve to be near anyone...least of all...he cast a glance at Kari, her. He buried his head in his arms again, tears cutting tracks through the blood on his cheeks. He stayed like that for a few moments before standing up and going into the bathroom, it would be best if he cleaned himself up a bit.

Kari whimpered as he pulled away, her hand unconsciously clutching at him. She took in a few deep breaths, waking up fairly quickly though not enough time to see where he went.She was angry…and scared…and lonely…all at once. She stood, groaning as her body felt achy, she must have fell in a bad position. Standing she walked forward, hearing the water running in the bathroom. She leaned on the wall next to the door, still a little out of it.

Ai didn't think Kari would wake up so soon and had left the door open a crack. After taking off his bloody clothes and washing them he put them to the side to dry and then stepped into the shower, letting the hot water wash over him, soothing his aching muscles.

Kari slid down the wall, closing her eyes a moment. She listed to the sounds…was Ai in the shower? She shivered, blushing but dismissing it as she let her loopy mind wander. Part of her wanted to step in and just start yelling at him, naked or no. But honestly it hurt to stand…

After finishing his shower Ai stepped out and squeezed most of the water out of his hair before he realized that he hadn't gotten a change of clothes (XD I just had to) so he wrapped a towel around his waist and after securing it he walked out of the bathroom.

Kari, having had her energy scrambled quite a bit, was not quite in her right mind. As he stepped out she was still crouching right by the door leaning on the wall. She looked up, playfully whistling. “Damn….that’s mean…” She giggled. “At least if I had to fall for a stubborn shmuck it’s a hot one.” She said, trying to stand up. She was a little feverish and this combined with the addition of her screwy energy from his pressure point was making her act a little….off.

Ai raised an eyebrow at her comment but held out a hand to help her up nonetheless, "Are you alright, love?" he questioned softly.
