What can I say?
I've been a retrogamer longterm partly out of not being able to afford many newer consoles. And as much as I enjoy a good ol' 2-D (Super CastleVania IV, Bionic Commando, Zelda II, Super Mario Bros. 3, Tetris Attack, and The Legend of the Mystical Ninja being some of my favourites) game, damn if there aren't some old titles that don't bug the heck out of me. XD
Master Karateka... I love the fact that you can die within seconds of hearing the elaborate introductory tune as you start the game, just by backing up a few steps and tumbling off a cliff.
Dragon Slayer, for the GameBoy - moving at a limping pace, not being able to survive any encounters with monsters until you find the sword, which involves venturing into monster-territory. The creatures also can move diagonally - sometimes through blocks - while you can only move the standard four directions. It's hard to explain this one - one just has to play it to get a sense of how wonky and frustrating it is.
And this screencapture sums up my longterm love-hate relationship with Might and Magic for the NES. Just look at it.

Better yet, the creature this
Warrior Cat palette swap is based off of was called CERBERUS. :D
Well, feel free to share your funny/frustrating gaming moments. You don't have to limit your discussion to NES/SNES games, of course - there's a lot in between the Atari days and when the N64 and Playstation were some of the hottest things out there. Have fun!
