I'm trying so hard not to go overdrawn, I still have £1,000 overdraft from being at uni but I only had that because it was interest free while I was a student.

I did really well 1st year, most overdrawn I went was £300 but 2nd year I got a house with 2 girls and one decided she didn't want to live there and never wanted to live there and left so the bills were higher just between 2 than the 3 it was meant to be. I was fully in my overdraft before Christmas so after that every time I got my loans as soon as rent went out I was overdrawn again. Third year I managed to actually have nearly £200 left over. Then uni ballsed up with their lack of communication skills and I had to spend 2 months going back forth to the council and the loans company and uni. The loans company actually sent me to a debt collector even though they knew I was disputing the fact that they'd overpaid me because they were saying the university told them I left before the end of the year when I didn't.

Woooo, money troubles not sounding very nice.

I'm having to pick my a-levels at the moment but a bit stuck on choosing which ones and how they go together. I want to do Maths, RS, Chemistry and Latin. I'd also like to do Biology but was consulted that five is too much work. So I might have to drop Latin and do Biology instead :( which is a shame because I love Roman Literature.

Ahhhh, anyone have any ideas or advice?

I did Psychology, ICT, English Lit and Stuart and German History at AS level then dropped ICT for A levels. I didn't really think about if they'd go together or anything. :XD I just thought ooh I like that. I actually only picked psychology because I needed a 4th subject.

I did Psychology and Education studies. I haven't finished the degree but I'm not going back to uni. I should have added an extra year but my Grandma was sick and I can't handle any more of that uni.

Oh btw if you wana go into medicin you'd have to taqke the 3 sciences =S physics, chemistry and biology if you wana get far. Maths added would be good. It's really tough and you might have to study for a good decade. it's hard work, but if you're into it then do it =3

Philosophy sounds fun, but what career plan are you hoping to reach with that? (I'm not entirely sure what the career possibilities are for philosophy)

For psychology some unis wanted me to do Biology and chemistry, but I still got into a uni in the top 40 with just Bio =3

Argh yeah if i dont overspend ill be JUST in the black =p with a tiny bit of money over.

The only thing uni imposed on me was actually psychology because I wanted to just do ed studies but they said I had to do something with it and at the time Psychology was the one i was interested in though if I had been given decent support I would have done history or English instead since you can actually get on the teacher training course with those.

oh that sucks!! =( I hate it when people make you decide things like that with absolutly no help.

If they're giving you an ultimatum, they should at least let you make an informed decision, or suggest courses that might be useful for your future

I'm in Manchester.

I don't know why I wasn't told in first year either because the tutor for my Education side knew I was doing psychology and knew I wanted to be a teacher but he still let me carry on with psychology.

I want to go to Manchester, I've heard it's quite colourful. I need to find the time/money/companion to travel more around this country.
