Asta could help but to laugh once he mentioned his shirt. It was most definitely done.
"Ah, well, I'm sure you can find something here to wear," she said. And he most probably could. Over time, the two had begun leaving bits and pieces of one another at the other's apartment, she supposed as a "just in case" type of matter.
"And if you need anything, let me know, kay?" Aww, look at little Asta, trying to be sweet again.

"I think this was my last shirt here," Allen said, thinking for a moment. "The rest are still in my apartment." Reaching into his pocket, he dug out the key. "If you want to run to my apartment and see what you can find, by all means. Otherwise, I'll head over there myself a little later." He didn't mind lounging about shirtless for a little while, and he doubted Asta would mind all that much, either.

Pursing her lips, she took the keys. Truth be told, she wasn't entirely sure that she wanted to venture outside of her apartment by herself. Surely it wasn't the smartest of ideas... but Allen did need clothes...
"Alright," she said. "I'll be back in a little bit." And it was with that that she left her apartment. She was being foolish anyway. Why not go out? She would be fine. No worries.
It was colder out than usual though, when she stepped out her front door, but she barely noticed. She was walking swiftly at first, but then she realized what a spectacle she was making of herself, and for no reason. She smelled nothing unusual, it wasn't especially quiet. Everything was fine.

Allen went and quickly showered, washing off the residual blood and grime that Asta had missed on her initial cleaning. Once he had finished and toweled off, he waited for Asta to get back. He wasn't sure if whatever was out there before was really gone, so he would probably go out looking for her if she was gone for too long.

By the time that Asta had gotten to Allen's apartment, it was a little past three. She'd been sure to take her time. When she went in it was naturally dark, and flipping on the lights, she made her way to his bedroom. Everything in the house just smelled so... pleasant.. just like Allen. She smiled pleasantly at that thought.
After about thirty or so minutes of rummaging through his things, she'd managed to pack him a whole bag full of necessities, just to be safe, and within another ten minutes, she was on her way home.

Allen heard and smelled Asta coming back in before he saw her. Even though he would never admit it aloud, he was worried when she was gone for a while. He cared about her, and didn't want her to get caught like he did.

"Welcome back," he said when she came in, wrapping his arms around her. "Did you find everything okay?" He grinned and kissed her cheek. "I hope my apartment wasn't to guy-ish for you."

The embrace was not something that Asta had been expecting, and she grunted just a little as she was pulled close into his arms. "Well hi there," she said with a bit of a laugh, but it was disregarded. "It was fine. And I brought you extra stuff, just in case, ya know?" Now that was not entirely true.. there were other motives hidden within her kind acts, for she was hoping that maybe it would entice him to stay longer if he didn't have to go home to change and whatnot.

Allen totally didn't mind that she had brought some of his things over. He grinned.

"Thanks," he said. He let her go and took his things, digging out a shirt. He liked the ones she chose, so he picked out the one that his older sister had always said looked good on him. Putting his things down, he pulled the shirt on. "How's this one look?"

With a smile, Asta watched as Allen pulled on a nice, fresh shirt, and she had to admit, it did look rather nice on him. He must have suspected something, because then he asked how it looked. Now making eye contact with him, she nodded with approval. "I think it looks good," she said as she skipped over, then leeched onto him like she tended to frequently do. It was nothing to physically straining since she was trying to avoid hurting him, but it was enough of a hug to count.

Allen wrapped his arms around her again when she attached herself to him like usual. He noticed she was trying to be gentle, and although he wanted to be manly and say she didn't have to, he was actually kind of grateful. He still ached a little, after all.

"Well, since it's probably not a good idea to go out hunting tonight, how about we settle in for a movie or something?" he suggested. "Maybe we could make a run down the hall and ask Ana if she wants to join us, unless you want it to just be you and me?"

The first thing that came to mind for Asta was indeed bringing Ana along for the movie, however, looking up at Allen, she began to change her mind. Maybe time alone would do them some good, as well as for Ana. She seemed so out of it lately, and Asta was still not entirely sure why. And though she was leaning more towards the idea of just she and Allen enjoying the movie, still, she wasn't sure if it was the best thing.

"Well," she began. "I don't mind either way. I'll leave it up to you."

Allen hadn't noticed anything really different about Ana, but he also didn't spend as much time with their 'foster mother' as Asta did. The two were fairly close.

"Then how about you and I spend the day together?" he suggesnted. He paused, and then added, "'day' being a relative term and all." It sounded a lot more innocent than 'spending the night together,' and he doubted Asta would appreciate the unintended innuendo.

Something inside of Asta wouldn't have necessarily minded the the wording having changed a bit, but in any case she was nodding and smiling up to Allen. "Sounds good to me," she chimed. And oh, she was so tempted to jump atop him and command him to carry her off to the bedroom, but it seemed like the chances of that happening weren't at all in her favor, and he was still hurt. "I'll race you to the bedroom!" For some reason (and Asta wasn't sure as to why), she acted more childish around him than she'd acted around anyone else. Maybe it was because she knew that she could get away with it.
But instead of breaking off into a run or trot, Asta took Allen by the hand and began dragging him off toward her bedroom, most of the time walking backwards so that she could watch him move.

Ana spent the next couple of days patrolling the area, making sure the hunter and the half-breed didn't come back. It helped her keep her mind off of other things. Every so often, she would check in on Allen and Asta, but for the most part, she left them to their own devices. She didn't want to talk to them at the moment, because she knew that there would either be questions, or Allen would say something insensitive and male and she would want to go out and kill someone.

She laid back on the roof of the apartment building, looking up at the full moon. The night was cool and clear, and she was enjoying the peace.

It would take quite a bit of time for David to fully recover from the injuries induced upon him several nights ago. Thanks to Madelyn's helpful hands, and ever watchful eyes, he was able to make a (mostly) full recovery. Save for more scars, David would be good to go in a week or two. But then what? He'd was so eager to go, but so reluctant to leave. Madelyn had never been just a girl to him. She was familiar, his constant in a world of chaos.
Now laying beside a sleeping Madelyn, he debated on whether or not to do to her, what he had done to so many women since her. Leave. Nothing since Madelyn was even stomach-able. He found so many flaws, so many shortcomings. This one was too tall, the other too petite. Her breasts were too big, that one's hair didn't fall the right way. Hers is too long. Hers isn't long enough.
It was just an eternal mountain of things he didn't like on girls because Madelyn did it better. It was just how it was, natural fact of the matter.
"Madelyn," he whispered, his mouth now resting on her bare shoulder. Within seconds, Madelyn began to stir, and her bright eyes fluttered open. As soon as she was able to see him she smiled, and rolling into his arms, she stretched out.
"Good morning, Sleepyhead," she said to him. David of course smiled at her affectionate nickname for his half-sleeping being, and after pulling away from her, rid himself of the bed all together. "Why don't we go for a walk?" he asked. "I bet it's nice out." Instantly she was out of bed, eager to begin the journey that he'd just mentioned.

David was wearing something unusual for him, nothing too dressy; he wore a mere t-shirt and jeans, something Madelyn often kept around for him. It was a shock to Madelyn that he even wanted to be out, and no doubt dangerous with her brother in search of him. But she would take what he gave her, which more often than not, wasn't much. The two walked mostly quiet, Madelyn gripping his hand rather softly in her own way. Even though the two weren't exactly close to Ana, David was, unfortunately, thinking about her yet again. She was a feeling he couldn't quite shake, and she was definitely great in bed. Never better than Madelyn. Never. But still. He'd just left her alone with that beast and Mabrey. What happened to her? Was she even alive?
Too many questions were interrupting his peace. Not like it would last much longer... for he was leaving in the "morning". It was what was best for the both of them. Mabrey didn't need to drop in on the two of them like last time. It wouldn't be beneficial to Madelyn. Therefor, no good for either of them.

The next night as Madelyn lay sleeping, David fled. He left no note, no trace of his existence, even going as far to take a spare set of clothing with him. He longed for his dress clothes, but unfortunately, those would have to be purchased at a later date; all stores were closed by now.
David made his way back to the familiar city of Ana and her fledglings, only to snoop around, no doubt. The first place he visited was the brick building, then from there he traced down Ana. It wasn't easy, no, since she'd gone to all the trouble of taking long routes, but eventually he came across the place where she smelled the strongest. It must have been her apartment. It had to be. But he couldn't hear anything from within.
A stray couple of joggers passed only to see David with an ear to Ana's door, and boy did he jump away from that door swiftly. "Hello," he said with a grin, and nervous laugh. Way to look suspicious. Down pact.

Ana was up on the roof, basking in the moonlight and listening to her iPod in one ear. She knew the moment David arrived at her door, but made no move to go down and greet him. Let him think something had happened. It was less than he deserved, after he abandoned her twice, and left her to face the hunter. Reaching down, she turned up the country music a little, though she only wore one earbud so she would be able to hear if anyone approached. She was bitter, not suicidal. She sighed slightly and stared up at the sky, absently picking out constellations. Nothing soothed the sharp edges of her mood better than a cool night and country music.

If it was one thing that David was, foolish was not it. He was more than able to identify her very specific scent, along with the fact that her visitation to her apartment was recent. Definitely recent enough for her to be living. But clearly she was not within her home. David focused his hearing just a bit more, trying to pinpoint any sound that could be emitting from Ana, and wouldn't ya know it, he found one. It was music, country music, to be exact. It was his least favorite genre.
With a sly grin, David glanced around (making sure the joggers had left him be, of course) and lept upon the roof with ease. And there she was, glistening in the moonlight, dear Ana. "Hi there," he said as he brushed the hair from his face. "I figured you'd be around here somewhere."

"Congradulations," Ana replied dryly, "you've confirmed that you are, in fact, not deaf." Delicately, she turned up The Band Perry's If I Die Young a single notch. "Now if you'll excuse me, I was enjoying the peace and quiet. You know, now that the hunter and half-breed have been gone for a while." She was taking no prisoners with her verbal barbs. She could very easily smell a second scent all over him, a feminine scent, and it bruised her heart even more, so she covered it with more bitterness.

David knew good and well what toxins her tone held, he was no fool. But something about Ana told him to stay, something made him want to. After all, he was already here, and there was no reason to lay waste to a perfect opportunity.
"Now Ana, don't be coy. You said you didn't need my help. What good would it be for me to stay where I'm not wanted? I've never been one to lay on too thick." And that was true. He wasn't the type to stay where he wasn't welcome, though now seemed to be an exception.

"Yes, what good is it for you to stay where you aren't wanted?" Ana repeated pointedly. She was still refusing to look at him. She knew that if she did, she was liable to burst into tears, and she wasn't about to give him the satisfaction of knowing that he was important enough to her to cry over. She wasn't going to give him that ammunition. "If you're just here to check in and confirm that I'm still alive, then I am indeed still here and you may leave."

"Oh, my dear," he began coyly. "You may be smart and swift, but you cannot read my mind. What a shame to not know my motives for being here."
For David, being an asshole was too easy. He supposed that it was second nature these days. And though he wanted to stop, just for the sake of sparing a few feelings, he knew that he couldn't. He only had one soft side to share, and that side was for Madelyn.
"If you want me to leave, then by all means, make me go." Now that was a tricky idea, that one was.

Without a word, Ana stood up, slipped her iPod into her pocket, and stepped off of the edge of the roof. Using one hand, she swung herself down and through her open bedroom window. As soon as she was inside, she closed and locked the window. It wouldn't stop him if he really intended to follow her, but the sentiment was very clear. For extra measure, she closed her blackout curtains. Even though she was now in complete darkness, she still wouldn't let herself cry. Her apartment wasn't soundproof, and she knew he would hear. For now, ignoring him would have to be enough.

As Ana stepped over the edge, David's smile faded slowly until it was down to less than a smirk, the point between no smile, and barely anything.
Dropping from the roof himself, he took the same route as Ana, only to be stopped by the window. He wasn't going to bust into her home to harass her more. That was a waste of money, and precious time.
It wasn't like David to just give up and walk away from a challenge. Ana was the challenge. But there was something telling him to go, and he would obey his intuition.
As David fled the city, he was in search of a new place for sleep. He would not go to Madelyn's for at least a week, for that was how they functioned. Besides, it was probably best for him to vanish for a while. Mabrey would be there soon enough.

Ana listened as David's footsteps died away, and then fell onto her bed. She couldn't believe it. He came to find her covered in the scent of another female, of a human female at that. As if she wasn't good enough for him already, he had to rub it in by flaunting a human woman in her face. She curled up around her same pillow stained by bloody tears. She didn't feel like going out hunting that night anymore.

One thing that David had not taken into account, was his scent, the scent of Madelyn upon his skin. It was just that upon his daily activities, washing off her "germs" was not typically something he had to think about... Now that he was getting further and further away from Ana's abode, he began to think, and boy, did he think.
It wasn't like putting two and two together was difficult, but he had to admit that maybe showing up to Ana's with Madelyn all over him was probably not the best idea he'd ever had.
Now was the age-old debate: to go back, or not to go back?
David stood now practically in the middle of the road. He had to choose. He only had enough time to go to either Ana's, or his alternate destination.
