I walk over to the door and look back at Ken before I leave.
"I've missed you. I really have. And thank you for not sending me away."
With that I walk out.

I watch her walk out. I walk out of the tent and watch her walk away. Then I look around at everythng else around me. It should be an interesting day.

((Indeed, this is Cyraus... the evil side. *evil laughter*))
My eyes strained over the work of yet another bloody masterpiece. It was an image of the same little, dark-skinned girl that I had been painting for my last few pieces that was standing over a dead man's body. For some reason, I had grown a peculiar infatuation with this unfamiliar girl. I had painted her hanging from a noose, draining the blood of a corpse as a vampire, and, my favorite, holding a headless teddy bear and a knife in her other hand with the head of the stuffed animal by her feet. I usually never had a recurrence of one specific image in my art. Every night, I would dream of a painting and I would paint it when awakened. But every night, I have been dreaming of images of this girl. It has never happened to me before, so I knew this girl was of some significance.
Kyoshi entered my gallery after a knock. I knew she had to appear sooner or later. She did her bow, with her knees and head to the ground, and said, "I have a subject to discuss with you, my Lord." I blinked once and looked over at her.
"Go on," I said, my voice laced with irritation. I hated how she always waited for me to allow her to speak instead of just speaking it. Then again, sometimes she needed my permission if I was not in the mood to hear what she had to say.
"The legion of zombies you sent to find more bases has come upon something peculiar." I tore my eyes away from my painting and faced her.
"Yes," I replied, the strain in my voice indicating even more. She knew the tone and spoke, "We have come upon a merging of a vampire and a zombie in one body, my Lord. The zombies seem to be drawn to it for some unknown reason. They will not stray away, even if ordered to." Frowning, I began the silence that I frequently make to analyze my options. By Kyoshi's words, the zombies do not wish to leave the mutation. I knew that the arm of zombies I sent out was large, over a hundred. I knew I couldn't lose that many. Another thing to consider is the mutation of that subject. The virologists have never successfully merged the DNA of two different viruses without killing the subject. His DNA is a scientist's dream.
"Command the legion to apprehend him," I ordered, "and return him here." Kyoshi nodded and left the gallery. After she exited the room, I felt a spark of excitement inside of me burst out as a furious giggles. Eagerness was not something I had everyday, so I let it out without any restraint.

I walked to the abandoned town once more. I went straight to the little hotel I had picked out before.
In the light I could see that it would need a few repairs on the outside, but those were minor. The door was locked but I managed to pick it open and walk inside to take a look around. The lobby was still fully decorated even though a thin layer of dust covered everything. It looked like nobody had even thought about this little place since the outbreak.
I go over to the elevator and push the button to test if there was any electricity working. The bottons didn't work so that meant there was no power. I go to the front desk and check out the keys to the rooms. The room keys were actual keys and not cards like most hotels, I guess i was lucky they weren't. I find the set of managers keys in the office behind the desk and I take them. I go over to the elevators and push the button but it doesn't work.
"Electricity is off then. Just as I thought. I'll have to find the generatoes for this place." I tell myself.

I take the stairs up to the first floor and unlock the first room. The room was also fully furnished. Chairs, a table, and a bed in each room. There were still linnens in the bathrooms. I turn on the sink and water pours out.
"Good, water still works here at least."
I turn off the water and leave the room. I take the stairs down to the power room and unlock the door with the managers keys. The Generators were shut off so I checked all of them for problems and found none. I would just have to get them started and the place cleaned and it would be liveable.

I go back upstairs to the lobby. There was a small resturaunt that was part of the hotel so I go in and back to the kitchen.
The minute I opened the doors to the kitchen I felt like I was in heaven. The industrial stoves and ovens, all the cooking utensils were in their places, all nice and clean. I leave the kitchen and go back into the lobby. I give it one look around before I leave, taking the managers keys with me, and lock the doors.

I go back to the medical camp to look for Ken.
I see him standing in front of the medical tent so i go over to him.
"Ken! I checked out the building i had picked out. It's perfect. The doors had been locked the whole time so it's still got everything in it. It's an old hotel so there are plenty of rooms, and there are generators in it. The generators are still in good condition too!" I was excited to tell him about everything.

I looked out the window. It was still day time. No infected would be walking about. I opened the door and took a deep breath then started running. When I reached the gas station I didn't see felix on the roof, I only saw the thousand of Zombies surrounding the place. i zoomed through them and found a small crack in the door. I pushed through then covered the hole so that they wouldn't get in.

"That's good. I will get a team together and we will go over there in a little while. We need to go through and secure the building before we start to move into it. Until then you just go relax. When we go to leave I will come get you and you can show us where it is." I go back in the office and I get my weapon ready. We needed to get a good place to be in.

I smile and skip off. I had noticed, when I went today, that there were many stores nearby and most of them looked like they hadn't been ransacked. One store I remembered was a fabric store, another was a clothing store. I would love to check out the fabrics in the fabric store and the clothing store would be a great treat for everybody else.

I would just have to wait on Ken to give the orders to his men before we could go. He said that they would have to secure the building. before we could move in. I would be happy to have a real roof over my head again.

I went to go find Gemini and Kaleb to tell them the news.

I sensed him near. I was afraid to see him, how long had it been? Day's? weeks? Months? I looked down, my stomach was about the size of a small balloon, maybe a small watermelon. "Felix." I whispered holding my stomach and peering through the darkness.

"Ember, I'm up here!" I called down to her, as she was downstairs. "How did you get in here? There are hundreds of zombies right outside the door!" Why did she leave? Why did she come back...

Slowly I walked up to the roof where Felix was hiding. "Why are you here? And whats with the gay Fadora?" I asked hugging him, careful not to bump him with my stomach.

((Since the zombies have been ordered to capture Felix, they are going to do what they are told with no mercy.))
Elsa skipped down the escalator, now frozen in place and the equivalent of a staircase. I only heard bits and pieces of her chirping as we progressed downward.
"I used to be so scared of these things," she said, swinging her plastic bag back and forth. "I never, ever, ever went on these things. But I see that they are stairs, as my mom tells me, that just move up and down..."
As my mom tells me...
That stuck with me all the way down to the first floor. I knew that Elsa wasn't too young to know that there was a chance that her parents were no longer alive. "I have never been in a store so big and with no one in it." Not that she didn't believe that it was possible, she chooses not to believe it. "It's really weird isn't it?" The knot returned in my chest. What if they are?
"Leon?" I broke away from my thoughts when I heard my name and turned to Elsa. She had a curious look on her face, with traces of concern. I gave her a reassuring smile and turned back, continuing onward. Not that I was trying to be rude by ignoring her, but I had to focus on our surroundings instead of engaging in conversation.
We entered the produce of the grocery section. Most shelves were cleared off, and the few leftovers were spoiled and fungi-infested. Elsa sighed and whined, "I'm so hungry... even that icky, brown stuff looks eatable..." I looked around for the entrance to the grocery storage room. I knew that in major malls, like in the one we were presently in, the batteries were long-lasting for refrigerators and freezers. There were also back-up generators to ensure the freshness of the products. Searching did not take long before I found a nearby large, metal door. Obviously, it would be latched shut.
"Great time to have my gun at hand," I muttered under my breath. Elsa whimpered in reply. I scanned the area for any ideas to come to mind. My eyes crossed over a capsized shopping cart over by a fruit stand. I could've sworn I heard the 'ding' of the flashlight above my head.

"Okay," I said, holding onto the handles of the cart. It was filled with very heavy bags of cement mix all the way up to the top. It was several yards from the door, enough space to hit a good speed. "What we're going to do is ram this into the door as hard and fast as we can. It'll probably take several tries to break the hinges, but it's manageable." With her hands beside mine, Elsa nodded and narrowed her eyes at the enemy door. "One," I breathed, gripping the bar tighter. "Two.... Three!" Both of us charged at the door and rammed the cart into it. There was a loud, echo like thunder of the door's death cry. I pulled back the cart and saw a large dent right across the middle of it. "Okay, again." I returned back behind the cart and we repeated it. The next attempt, there was even a deeper crevice. The next, one of the hinges had popped. The one after, the crevice had deepened again. We were both gasping for air at that point. Our deprivation of rest and food had drained our strength.
"What is that awful noise?"
All of my muscles froze for a moment. I heard Elsa gasp. Even though my mind screamed not to, I turned my head around to face the man who spoke. He was standing about twenty feet away, dressed in a polo and dark slacks. His face was drained of color and his eyes the color of night.

I smiled to Ember, who always called herself weak and pathetic, when infact she was very strong, and helped people in need. "Your not weak. infact, your quite the opposite. Would weak people risk their lifes to save people they didnt even really know? well, I know your not weak, and I wouldnt consider myself weak... there are a couple hundred zombies out here, and there is no way in hell I alone can kill them all. I need your help. Will you help me?

"I would die for you. But I need to tell you something after-wards." I sighed looking down at all the Zombies. I knew I shouldn't be fighting given that I was with child, but until Felix said something, I'd fight by his side.

Cat followed the trail until she reached a dead end. The woman had moved from this place and the rain had washed the rest of the trail away. Now what was she to do?

What do I do next? she thought. I'm infected so I can never return to a human settlement or I will be killed. If the humans win, they will kill me. If the vampires and their zombie pets win, they will kill me. The only possible friends and allies I have are my own kind, the wolves. Should I go to find them, or should I continue alone? Alone I may have a lower chance of survival if caught and I will be bored to death, but I will be able to escape and avoid my enemies easier. With others like me, I have a greater chance of survival if attacked by the enemy, but we would not escape massacres and there may be too much action for me to cope with. Oh what to do??"

On the last word she let out a small snarl. She sighed and breathed in and out, counting to ten. Then, she made her way away from the buildings and into the forests, looking for a large tree where she could stay until she made up her mind.

She had jumped forward with a fair amount of enthusiasm, so I jumped in after her. I waited until a few got close, and I sliced their heads off with my Katar's. It only worked twice, before they learned not to fight me that way. they began attacking me one-on-one, and I got weaker a lot quicker. Then, after an hour of this, they got to me. They scratched me, and started yanking at my arms. I learned that even vampires can get their arms dislocated... and so they knocked me out and took me away.

(Yeah, I will not be here for about a week, so I'm trying to get myself captured, so I have an excuse for not being here. Sorry! Happy Christmas and have a merry New Year!)
