I stood eying the female vampire for a little while. the children scurried out when i motioned to them to leave. I watched the female for any signs of hostility. She didn't smell of blood like most vampires did.
I grabbed a knife and a plate and cut a slice for her.
"Here." I said in a cold voice handing her the plate and a fork. "Sit." I commanded motioning to a chair.

I moved to close the kitchen doors not taking my eyes off her then took a seat across the way.
"So you would risk your life for a piece of cake." I said with a half smile.

I knew that she couldn't stay for long before the other humans of the house came.
"So you say you don't drink blood. How do I know you are telling the truth and don't mean to harm any that preside in this house?" I knew i was being harsh but I had a whole house full of men, women, and children to protect and if I didn't keep my word it was my life.

i jumped at the sound of the gunshot,and todd woke up and started to cry. it registered to me that the one shot was ember.tears ran down my face.what would happen to her daughter?(cough *didnteliwantachild* cough) and now felix was sure to do something stupid.eli ran ot of the room,and i sensed another vampire in the house.this was all happening so fast,it barely registered to my shocked mind as i numbly tried to calm down my crying son.

I looked up as the other vampire handed her the cake and sat down greedily shoveling it into my house.
"You can't really, You just have to take my word for it and trust me..." I said letting out a soft groan as I swallowed the delicious cake.

"This is really good Ma'am." I said smiling up at her. "Umm.... what is your name?" I asked shoving more into my mouth and ignoring her rudeness. Of course she wouldn't trust me, I was a random vampire, who had just skipped into the window where there were children and other humans who need protection.

"Uh... sorry for sneaking in like that... I just couldn't chance being seen." I said unslinging my rifle and letting it rest against the table. I looked down at my tank top and black shirts, knee high mini platform boots and sighed. "I really don't look like someone you could trust..." I said running a hand through my red hair.

"Not really." I replied. "My name is Eleadah by the way, Eli for short."
"So what brings you here? I never knew there were other mutations. How did you happen?" I asked. I was curious to know exactly what brought on the mutation.

I heard a howling in the distance. It was one of pain and sorrow. I recognized the voice as Talia, my best mate when i was still in the pack. "I have to go." before anyone could object i sprinted out of the house towards the mountains. I found my old pack in a pile of blood and pieces. Then i saw Talia, still intact, and ran towards her. "NO dont.. You shouldnt have come. We needed a pack. Youll die." All of a sudden a mutated monster jumped out at me and took me down to the ground from behind. I turned only to see the monster grab my head as it tackled me and thats the last thing i saw before a light that my soul went up to.

I woke up in pain, and twisted my neck. It felt like I had only been unconsious for only a minute. I looked over to where Ember had been laying. "DAMMIT" I Screamed, hearing birds fly away, in the distance. I had to do something to get my head off this. I made a note in ground with my fingure, like a preschooler, saying I would be away for about a week. That would be good enough. I started running off into the distance. I would find SOMETHING to do.

((forgiven.so hey,what is going to happen to ember's baby girl? i figure she could go to eli,since eli wanted a child,right? or did everyone else forget that she was there?))

(( *Facepalm* I forgot... Eli can have her sorry. Going to have to sound a bit twilighty here... *Shudders*))

I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
"Nice to meet you Eli, You can call me Ko, or Yoko." I said setting my fork down and sighing again.
"I was just a normal human, but it was half way into the beginning of the invasion, I had to go to the hospital and almost died. A doctor became infected and was controlling himself and helping others.... He changed me and my brother and sister...." I said then realized she might ask about them.
"They died not to long ago.... we were attacked by a swarm of half zombie, half werewolf mutants... I survived after shamefully using my older brother as a shield... he begged me to..." I said as a tear ran down my cheek. It was a true story, except that the brother I was talking about was my second oldest Romeo... he had died long before we had made our way here.

todd kept crying,so i handed him to kaleb.he calmed down some after that.but i was still in shock.more family,gone.i didnt know how much more i coud take.and i knew felix had run off somewhere.of course he did.he couldnt just stay and comfort me like he used to.but then again,he was not the same person he used to be.he didnt even remember his human life.which meant he didnt remember me.but i wanted him to.but how would he ever remember if he kept running away? these thoughts soon became too much for me,and i fell into a deep sleep.but i couldnt escape the nightmares.

((so guess what guys. I have an engagement ring now. It feels so strange on my finger... and auggh! TWILIGHT!!! NOOOOO!!! lol))

"I see." I wasn't really all that interested in her siblings but I guessed she must have felt she should tell me what happened to them in case I questioned further.
"How come you are a mutation instead of a full blood thirsty, human-killing vampire?"

(Haha.. good question! I cant think of anything for now.. i'll have something by tomarrow... sorry! Oh guess what? I made a bet with someone, and now I have to dye my hair pink because I lost. Going to be odd.)

I nodded and sighed. "After I was changed the hospital was attacked by a horde of Zombies. I almost made it out but one bit me. And his venom spread through my system... I never really liked the taste of blood before that, but after I healed from that attack, even the smell of it made me want to vomit.." I said standing up and taking the plate to the sink. I began washing it and smiled. "Don't worry, I'll be on my way so I'm not a bother to you or your family." I said as I scrubbed the plate.

((O.o What the hell? Two of you just died and you just wrote it down like nothing. You guys have no experience in killing your characters... *narrows eyes* The baby thing is settled, but what's going to happen to James?))
As I finished off my slice of cake, I heard a gunshot outside, followed by a pandemonium of screams and cries. Jumping to my feet, I snapped my pistol out from its holster and approached the door cautiously, yet with a hasty pace. When I burst from the door, the enemies were already taken down by Felix. After scanning the place for any more infected, I lowered my gun and began walking back to the house. Then I saw Gemini on her knees against a corpse. My eyes lowered onto the face and the knot returned to my chest. I let out a sigh and walked passed Ember's corpse and back into the house.
When I returned, Yvonne was flanking the door, wielding her TMP. Before she could ask, I said bluntly, "Ember's dead, but the threats were eliminated." Lowering her gun, Yvonne cussed and walked off without another word. The next person to approach me was Elsa.
"What happened?" she asked with a concerned expression. I didn't want to share the bad news with her, but I assumed that she would learn about it sooner or later. Best be told by me. I dropped to one knee and placed my hand on Elsa's shoulder, saying, "I'm really sorry, but Ember is gone." The girl's eyes widened and her face crumpled into a weeping expression.
"Why?" she wailed as tears escaped her eyes. "She just got here.... She's a vampire... She can't die. This isn't fair... this isn't right." She began to furiously rub her eyes and I pulled her into my arms. "Why did this happen? Why didn't anybody save her? This isn't fair..." Elsa stopped talking and just sobbed out her emotions. All I could be thankful for is that my shirt was the one that soaked up her tears.

James stumbled out of bed at the sounds of gun fights. Groaned he made to run out of the room but sighed and transformed then jumped out the window landed by the front door. He looked over at Elsa and Cyrus and let out a low growl. "What happened?" He asked changing back.

((wow! so that's what i miss when i don't think of checking my account for a while... lol))

I decided that it had been long enough, it was time to start searching the surrounding buildings. I grabbed all my gear and made my way down to the front desk of the hotel. I set my rifle and helmet down on the counter as I threw my armor on.
"Sound an alert, I want everyone up and ready to go clear the surrounding area within 10 mikes ((minutes for you civilian people lol)), and I mean ready, as in ammo, vehicles, and anything else they may need for this." I said to the Sergeant that was standing at the desk. He took off, no doubt going to spread the word of what I wanted done. As i finally got my armor on and picked my rifle back up i started to think of Eli. I had been so busy trying to make everything safe that I hadn't had a chance to think of her, but now that my plan was finally starting to come together I stopped and thought. She's been gone an awful long time. I hope that she's ok, and all the others as well. As soon as I get this area clear I'm gonna send a search party out for them. It felt like i had been thinking for a long time when Sky came running out of nowhere.
"Sergeant, I can see the other convoy from the base camp on it's way. They're just on the outskirts of the city now." She told me, huffing and puffing as she said it. My guess was that she had run all the way down the stairs in order to tell me this.
"That's great news Sky, thank you. Go watch them in. Make sure that they get here safely." She looked at me like I was crazy. "We don't know if there is anything in this town or not Sky, there could be something on the outskirts that we didnt see coming in. Or something could have moved in since we have." Sky nodded and ran back up the stairs. I started to see others come downstairs from their bunks and run outside to get the trucks and ammo ready. Eli, I promise that I will find you, and if you find me first then I will make it so that this area is nice and safe for when you get back here. And this is a promise that I will not break. I walked outside and started my truck up and moved it into position at the front of the line. Just as I pulled the air brakes on my truck I heard three shots fired from the roof. I looked up to see Sky and two others pulling their guns down. I took off for the stairwell. After what seemed like forever I reached the top, in a little better shape than I thought.
"What happened Sky? Why did you all shoot?" Sky pointed at the spot where the convoy had been, behind it were three large furry bodies.
"Bears Sergeant. They were getting ready to attack the convoy and they didnt even know it." I nodded and patted her on the back.
"Good work Sky, way to watch their backs." I started back down the stairs, I could already imagine the faces of the other soldiers that heard the shots and didnt know what was going on.

((yes my dear. this is what happens when you don't check mene when i tell you to. lol.))

I sighed. "You said your name was Yoko, correct?"
I watched her for a minute and decided that it should be alright.
"If you have no where to go I could ask if you could stay here for a little while... We should be leaving soon after all and as long as you show no signs of bloodlust or agression then everything should be fine. Wait here." I said as i got up and walked to the door to find Yvonne.
I stopped at the door and turned my head slightly, my eyes grew cold.
"But I'll have you know that I have vowed my life to protect all these humans and I don't break my word. If you or anybody else becomes a threat to them I will cut that threat down without a second thought." I told her in a voice without feeling before walking out the door.

((really though,i thought the idea behind moving was to find a more homey place,without all the military stuff.isnt that why eli found an ABANDONED city,and went and checked thw whole place out before anyone else? i'm a little confused.))

((the point of finding a new home was to be out of tents and in a more secure place. the abandoned town was to get away from the wild and the infected creatures. sorry for the confusion. and hemora gave me an idea yesterday regarding ember's child. he said that maybe one of the other women could take her, we both thought of Sky his understudy.))

I found Yvonne in the hall with a gun.
"Yvonne, i have a favour to ask you..."

((ok,i get it.yeah,that sounds like it would work.i winder what it must be like for a child to grow up in that kind of environment?))

I looked over Elsa's shoulder to see one of the other friends that Eli and the others brought with. Releasing the child, I raised myself and replied to his question, "An infected shot down Ember a few minutes ago. She's dead..." The words felt numb as they left my mouth. I never got to know the girl very much at all. Now that she was dead, I felt guilty for not feeling much remorse or sadness.

Yvonne had been watching Miguel and Tomas take Ember's body, which had been wrapped in a body bag, into an isolated room when she heard a voice behind her. She turned to see one of the infected, Eleadah, standing behind her. Yvonne shifted the rest of her body to face her and asked, "What is it that you ask for?"

James eye's widened and he looked around for Ember's body. Letting out an ear spilting howl he took off and ran to her body and grabbed her. "Ember! EMBER!" he yelled slapping her cheek hoping she would wake up, and smile at him with those beauitful green eyes. He held her close as tears ran down his face and he looked at the other dead vampires around him. Slowly he rocked holding Ember's dead body to him and let out a chocking sob. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you... But I'll raise Felicity..." He whispered as he carried her body back to the house. He kicked open the door and turned to the first person he saw. "I want her buried properly... not burned..." He growled looking down at her face.

"We had one of the vampires try to break in for a slice of my cake. I've watched and questioned her and she seems to be a mutation like myself. She shows no signs of bloodlust or agression and I was wondering if it would be alright if she was allowed to stay here for a little while. She has no family. I was planning on leaving here in a few days and until then I will keep a tight watch on her to make sure nothing happens. Is that alright with you?" I asked Yvonne.

((lol,ok that works.actually,i had kinda forgotten about james...^-^* ))

Yvonne let out a sigh and said, "I do not wish for any infected to remain here for a long period of time. The majority of the people here are against having you at all. But my family has the say in who goes and stays in the end. All of you are permitted to be here for a few more days, that is if there are no problems enthused. If one of you happens to put any person in here in danger, all of you are leaving. But so far of what I've seen, there has been no problems with you. I'll allow it. Do not worry." Yvonne whirled around at the shouts coming from behind. Tomas and Miguel dropped Ember's body and recoiled when another infected began sobbing over it. She stared at him with a pitying frown; apparently he had not heard the news yet. By his vehemence in his weeping, Yvonne assumed that she was very important to him. She approached him and said, "Burning the bodies of dead infected on our property is our usual procedure, but I'll allow you to hold a burial for her. However, it cannot be anywhere near this property." She looked up at Tomas and Miguel and said, "Burn the remains of the other infected around here, but not this one." They obliged, putting on more protection gear for the bloody remains of the other plagued.

I smiled at Yvonne and thanked her before turning to go back into the kitchen.

When I entered I was relieved to see Yoko still sitting there.
"You have permission to stay in this house until we leave. After that, my family and I will be heading to our home and you are welcome to join us or to leave. But either way you will not be welcome in this place once we are gone. The humans don't take too kindly to the infected here."
