Pretty frequently. It can be rough. I'm the sort of person who has only a handful of extremely close-knit relationships, so if a friendship or romantic relationship falls apart, it can make the loneliness unbearable for a long time afterward.

I honestly think everyone goes through points where they feel alone. Not just from depression, but also from things just getting out of whack.
I tend to feel lonely very often, despite how many people I have around me.

I barely see or talk to people in real life at the moment, and I have a whole three online friends. Maybe just an antisocial phase though.
As much as I want to be secretive loner I need communication with people, apparently ;_; Suppose that's one reason I joined here~

I do get lonely some times. Even when I'm with friends, I can feel alone. Which is sad. Though, when that happens, I act like I'm having a good time and try to keep up with them. Then there are times when I like to be alone. I guess it's a double edged sword for me, how about any of you?

It's a feeling I'm just starting to get used too... especially at college.
Tonight I was actually making a joke during one of my clubs where I was like, "I can't recruit anybody - I have no friends!"
And the girl next to me who I usally sit with says "Well - you have at least one friend - me!" It was sweet but you know, I still feel "alone" here at college because any relationship I make with a person here, I don't do anything with it. I don't know if it's just me not knowing how to say, "hey - let's go hang out sometime" or perhaps, you know - I just want to be left alone at college.

Lol, I don't get lonely. I don't think I've ever actually felt lonely. I've missed someone and such, but never really 'lonely'.

I tend to feel guilty really easily about stuff so I prefer to be alone most of the time, then I don't feel guilty (the gut wrenching kind of guilt). But I have a few close knit friends who drag me out of the house once in a while.
While I do prefer to be alone it does get depressing once in a while. Like on my birthday or holidays, I like to share those days with people.

I never really feel lonely because I know I can always talk to myself, or find someone in Mene, if everyone in RL is busy. I enjoy having conversations with myself. ^.^ Besides, my mom, older brother, or my boyfriend, any one of them will always set aside what they're doing if I really need them.

I've felt so lonely at certain times that I've ended up in tears. I'm 19 years old, and everyone around my (my age) has a boyfriend or a girlfriend, and within the passed 4 months, two of my coworkers (22 and 23 years old) both got engaged to their boyfriends. Me? I end up with a douchebag who just wants a you-know-what-buddy and refuses to call me his girlfriend, takes me to his prom, and macks on every girl but me. Yet he had the balls to tell me he loved me.
Then my friend tries to set me up with a guy she goes to Church with. He asks me if I'm talking to any guys to see if he had any competition. Two months later? He's in a relationship on facebook but didn't have the balls to tell me.
And better yet, my Mother introduces me to a guy a few weeks ago, and we talk for several days then agree to meet at starbucks. And he stands me up.
My best friend lives 9 hours away with my godson. And the only friends that I really want to hang out with live in New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Virginia, and Texas. I live in Maryland. I'm alone without my friends, and even though I talk to them online, it's still very hard.
I know that I have my family and my friends, though they're far away, but still...that loneliness is killer.

Just latley all the time. I have people at uni, in my corridor and class that i can talk to, but i haven't really made a massive effort with them. I'm the kind of person who knows a good friend for me when i see them, and there's really only one here. Even then i don't really want to open myself up much due to various extraneous factors.
It could certainly be worse though. I have my best friend 20 miles away, whom i see on weekends and sometimes during the week when our courses cross over. I find it pretty sad that i'm living purely for the weekends, and just to pass time, in order to see him.

I feel lonely quite often, but I'm pretty much used to it. Even if there are tons of people around me, and sometimes if I'm around a LOT of friends, I'll still feel really lonely. Loneliness for me usually seeps in around night time. If there is no one home, I really start to feel it. But during the day I don't care.

I tihnk the best way to get over being sad or lonely or depressed is to go out.
Buy a new outfit.
Just go someplace new and meet new people who don't know you.
Sometimes a change of pace is what we really need.
Don't you think?

I know what you mean. I have a few, very few close friends and other people are more like aquantances... but I still like that feeling of going somewhere new, all by myself.
When I was younger we used to move alot, so I was always the "new kid." I think I might have gotten addicted to that feeling then...

I like going new places with people that I know. It's just not the same with someone with you. I love going places where my friends and I can just have fun, and it's not that expensive.
I also know what you mean, I had to move a few times myself. And I know I'm gonna end up moving again, and then again, and then maybe again. I've moved a total of six times.

I wonder what it's like to live in one place your entire life. I think it must get boring, but at the same time, you knwo everyone so you have a really well established support channel. Pros and cons to everything I suppose.
I went to 5 different schools in one year! All I remember was being lost. ALL the time. lol

I'd hate to live in just one place my whole life. I mean, I eventually want to settle into one place.
WOW! That would confuse the hell outta me as well. I did start my first year of high school in a totally new and big ass high school. I hated it so much. I'm glad that I moved away from that school. But I did find out that the school had a pretty easy way of going around. Each hall had like a theme to it, and you could walk around the whole school in a circle pretty much. And there was a courtyard right in the center. Either way, it was confusing as hell x.x

It sounds like one of the high schools that you see in movies. Huge and old with tons of people who don't look like they belong in high school. lol
My high school was nothing like that! I wondered if there were really ones that were even. Mine was really pread out, over about 200 acres of land. So if you had a class on one side, and then the next class was on the other side... you better run!

I'm going through a anti-social stage.
I have no friends left, Except my best friend and mutual friends.
I don't have any online that want to talk anymore.
And my boyfriend dumped me.
So, Totally
Depressed for a little while.
Some how I am managing, I'm still capable of smiling and pretending to have a good time.

I like to sit down and watch a sad movie when that happens K0a. Just cry and get everything out.. and then watch cartoons or something funny and try to mentally block all that stuff for a while, you know? I think it helps you to relax :)

That's pretty much how it was. And there a lot of gangs around my old high school as well. The school got constantly tagged, there were fights nearly every day. There was NO surveillance, it was ridiculous.
Sounds like how my school was XD, but we had three classes a day, and then three the next (A and B days to be exact, 1,3,5, then 2,4,6). But we had about five minutes to get from class to class. OH! And you have no idea how long it took me to find my locker @ [email protected]
K0a, I know how you feel. I have barely any friends left. A lot have moved away, and I've lost contact with a lot. I just recently broke up with my boyfriend as well (but I have a girlfriend now o3o). But like you, I manage to smile, and act as if nothing is wrong.

I don't think I ever once used my locker! It was in a building that I never had a class in. What luck, lol. *sigh* High school... it's been 7 years now. OMG... I feel the pains of age creeping over to me like a killer with a plastic bag about to suffocate his victim... lol
