Hmm... Something like that is a little difficult to determine.

But I also thought that the One Piece plot was pretty mediocre until the end of the Sky Piea arc. It was really impressive how the manga-ka managed to pull everything together. It was really touching. Then Water 7 nailed it. It had everything. It had tension with the nakama, it had betrayal, it had dramatic rescues, and death, and love and... And then right into the action with Whitebeard and Ace. Yes, I believe that Oda really matured as a storyteller from that point on.

But before that, the plot didn't feel very special to me. They were plots and there was a story, but it didn't wow me and make me CARE. Yanno?

It might've been because the Strawhats were still 'gathering crew members' before then, so it was more scattered and more individually focused or something? :O

Though yeah, some of the arcs were more interesting than the others. Fishman Island wasn't that interesting for me, I was mostly being busy being annoyed at Sanji's constant near-death situation due to excessive blood spurting out of his nostrils.

Not sure. I just feel like those arcs had a better story. They felt a little... more? You know what I mean?

Yeah. But the twist with Princess Shirahoshi and Poseidon was quite interesting.

Yeah. :XD I've decided to start re-reading the entire One Piece manga from the first chapter the other day to see how the series've evolved...it's slow going. Too many chapters. :gonk:

...And the new chapter raised more questions than it answered. :headdesk: So curious as to just how and why Law and this Clown guy got together. Though it might've had something to do with that semi-flashback Law had when his crew was mentioned.

Totally. Law's my favorite One Piece character, I'd probably go kill something if he dies. I'm tired of having just about all my favorite characters always ending up dying in just about every single series. >8(

Well... Luffy treats him in such a friendly way. So I don't think he's going to die. Law will probably convert to being a good guy from Luffy's insistence or something. XD

Yeah, I like how he and the other glasses guy (forgot his name...) got along well with each other too, despite their initial differences and all. Should get even more interesting now that the glasses guy is learning/has learned how to use his Haki~

I think his name was Coby? He grew up pretty well, too. A little more confidence! And the haki surely must have helped. :O

Hm, at least we finally saw what the mystery Clown looks like in the new chapter. He's looking a lot different from what I'd pictured him to look like, and at least we finally know where and how all those weird hybrids came from. o _o
