I bet they meant for each character and just wrote word by accident.
Of course, I could be wrong. I'm too lazy to test it out. xD;;

EDIT: Well, nevermind. I just tried it out.
If it was for each word, I would have only earned .52 gold for this post.

But I earned a little more than 2 gold, so it's definitely for each character.
That makes sense too, because you get a little more gold for formatting your posts.

My Name is Judy and I just moved from Spain to the United States.
I do not really know anybody yet.
The Host Family that I had In College Lives in Norway.
I felt like an Idiot because I only speak Spanish and English.
My host family was sympathetic and they took the time to learn Spanish before my arrival and I taught them English.
I have a dog Named Ruby and she is 4 years old.
She made the move with me.
I already had Family here so me coming to the US seemed like the next logical step.
I like anime and singing.
I always wanted to be a songwriter. I am 29 years old. I for got to mention that earlier,oops.

Wow, immigrating to the United States must be really tough. My parents did the same thing a number of years ago and they still tell me stories about adjusting to life here.

Don't feel bad for knowing two languages--there are plenty of people who only speak one language in the U.S. In fact, most people here probably speak English and Spanish, just like you!

I speak Englsih and some Czech. And I don't know any Spanish, which is kind of sad really, seeing as how most of my ancestors were Spanish. And my whole family is Spanish.

Ruby is a Purebred Red Chow. I like Bleach,Code Geass,Fushigi Yuugi (Mysterious Play), Ghost in the Shell, Dragonball GT and Dragonball Z.
