I am goimg to ask a question I have often pondered and it should be simple to answer but it isn't, why do people watch dramas?
I mean really what is so appealing about Dramas, there are no explosions, car chases, monsters, brawls, or even a decent storyline so why do they watch them?
I watch dramas myself but they consist of Supernatural, Stargate(all of them), Sanctuary and the crime shows; these I have no issue with the ones I wonder about are the lovey dovey girly ones. I just can't comprehend what is so facinating about some family in some state having some problems that are just plain petty, it makes no sense to me and I am a girl so am I odd? I mean I like action, anime, scifi, car chase, monster etc shows not dramas, I mean Dramas are almost as bad as the latest season of survivor that I havn't watched in 7 yrs; please can someone explain to me what is so interesting about dramas because I can't seem to figure it out..

I'm sure it's hard to explain. Taste is subjective.

You say that you like explosions, car chases, monsters, brawls, etc., but can you explain to someone who doesn't like those things why you enjoy them? You can say to them, "Well, I like the action. I like the excitement. I like how it pulls you from one thrill to the other." And that person you're telling this to can turn around and say, "Well, I don't like the action. I don't think they're exciting and I don't care much for the thrills."

See, it's subjective. As they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

But think of it this way. You like all this sci-fi, monsters, action, beat down kinda stuff. Take the feeling you have for those kinda films and TV shows. Think of the pleasure and the joy you get from them and imagine that feeling in someone who likes drama and romance and more placid type of things. Cause well you may not understand why they like them, you can understand that they do like them. ;D

Some dramas are fine. But i'm not really a fan of romance. :lol:
