I usually role play with dice. Yes I am a table topper.
I like to make "broken" characters. The kind that have a flaw that is problematic and different. Sometimes it makes me HATE my character though. Example: I had an Aasimar (half-celestial) cleric who was racist beyond all belief, she hated monsters, evil things, and unnatural things. Thing was the campaign took place on a pirate ship where the Captain was a Tiefling (half-demon) who fell in love with her. She tried to kill him a few times and just made all around trouble for the rest of the party.
I like to play monsters as well. I had a Grig bard (thing centaur but with a mantis body) and an original monster (I made up the race/breed template myself).
SO I just like to play, but when I have the time, something that I haven't had any of late.

Actually many of my roleplays ended up turning into our comics. We have a joint company, IEK, in which several of us create long winded role plays with original characters, then draw them out. It's actually a very long process of writing, editing, and planning, but essentially the same thing. trust me, makes writing dialogue much easier, especially since different people SPEAK differently, it's great to use other people.

All of our roleplays are very long, and written like a book. Large and long sentences, fully written out the actions and dialogue of the characters, large paragraphs. They can go on for months. Thankfully we just finished one.

I've RPed on Gaia for quite some time, but it seems the RPing society has diminished over the years. I miss the mainstream aspect of it. You don't see too many of them like that now. It's usually a drawn out process of waiting for key players to post. I, also, believe that posts are now required to be huge, which turns out mostly to be fluff. I don't care for fluff. It's a wasteless use of space and time it takes to read. Why does it matter if I don't feel like writing 4 or 5 paragraphs or sometimes more? I believe people have lost the part of RPing that I used to love...the fun part.
