It took a considerable amount of self control for her not to launch herself at the unconscious form of the cloaked person, so she felt she deserved a little commendation for extraordinary effort. However, since nobody seemed aware of this fact, she opted for pouting momentarily while her company was distracted. Wiping the look from her face, she took a long, slow stroll over to the suspended figure, observing him casually, as if he were part of the decorations.

"Hm. Ought not to be about if he's going to fall all over the place," she mentions conversationally with the woman who, most likely, remained across the room still. Or perhaps she was speaking to the birds who had already, figuratively, flown the coop. Or maybe she was talking to the unconscious person. Who knew.

Instead of answering the unasked questions, she unraveled the pocket watch from her hand, which it had been clenched in for the better part of the evening, and tucked it safely away in some random fold of cloth. It seemed to do the trick, however. There was no thunk of metal hitting the floor, nor did the silver glint from where she had stored it as she moved forward.

She lifted a finger from her now unoccupied hand and poked the man squarely in the chest with mild interest. Then, as if that had satisfied some unspoken curiosity, she lifted him up in a strange motion that seemed to mimic pulling a coat off the hooks by a door. Easy as could be, she set him down on the floor. Not quite satisfied, she crossed the space between her and a nearby chair and pulled it to where his unconcious form sat. Repeating the previous gesture, she settled him into the chair, folding his hands in his lap.

She took a step back and admired the effect, then folding her arms, waiting for him to wake.

...Why does it seem that the poor boy just became their plaything? XXD

It took several moments before his eyelashes began to flicker and then open. Disoriented by both low blood pressure and having been swung around while unconscious, his head swayed a bit as he tried to gather himself.

'I wasn't sitting...' he thought to himself, eyes opening a little wider. Stomach growling, he winced slightly, his head hurting rather badly.

Uncomfortable eyes found themselves directed at someone's feet, their gaze slowly traveling upward, as well as the head they belonged to lifting up a bit until eye contact was made with one of the two women he had seen before. She stood before him with crossed arms, and seemed to be rather annoyed with his fainting spell...

*Chuckles* You're right, Gary. *Pounces and tries to seize his coat*

Cricket: Because he has! *Cackles* Actually, I don't know if he qualifies yet, but it certainly seems to be going in that direction.

I noticed, lol. And now my character is taking even more shape in my mind, and I'm wondering how the hell he wound up as an assassin, and a very good one at that, because his personality just doesn't seem fitting of that now...

And I added to my roleplay post a little bit.

That's what I love about impromptu. The why's get shaped on whim, which can end up messy, but it also has the chance to turn out some unexpected results. For instance, when I started her, Mal was completely impromptu. I filled in the details of her later, based on whim and what was going on. And she has been my favorite character since.

And good luck, Gary! I have so many layers in this thing, I'd get your coat off faster than you'd get half of this frock off me. ^-^ Besides, why so worried about the coat? You -are- wearing something underneath it, riiiiight? *Grins* Anywho, how have you been? I don't think I've seen you since the last event, I believe.

Although, as a note, I believe the "plaything" would be Cricket's character.

Letting the suspension spell end as Malakani picked the unconscious young man up, Astana crossed the room to where the other two were, wondering if the vampire was thinking of feeding from the fainted man. Unless she was going for a kill, Astana doubted it was a good idea. Now that she had a closer look at the boy, he seemed fairly undernourished or at least a little too scrawny to be healthy, which might explain the passing out.

With a huff of exasperation, she remarked in response, "Seems that was precisely why the kid's about. Not the only one hungry tonight, I reckon. You'd think he'd make a bee-line for the free food though."

As she watched from behind Malakani, the boy's eyelids began to flutter. He was waking. Looking around, she spied the least questionable drink on the beverage counter: the hot chocolate. Well, she doubted it was still hot, but that could easily be fixed. With a swirls of her cape, she turned on her heel to fetch a mug of the hot chocolate and warmed it with her magic on the way back.

"Here," she offered, still somewhat disgruntled, holding the mug out to the boy. "Can't have you randomly making out with the floor all night here."

The young man's awakening seemed nothing less than fascinating to Mal, as she seemed to find it necessary to press her face very close to the now conscious person. No doubt it was quite a disconcerting sight to reawaken to.

"So..." she began, only removing her face a couple of inches from its previous position, "...good evening."

As her prior company, the lovely Miss Astana, made her way over, she removed her face from such close proximity and straightened up, putting her hands on her hips, appraising the figure of black.

"Maybe it's all the black. All hot and sweaty, poor ventilation? I propose you take off some of your clothes," she commented nonchalantly, but her eyes twinkled with slight mischief.

Astana chuckled, amused by Malakani's comment, and decided to play along.

"Oh yes, that could very well be the problem too. If you're worried about the cold, boy, the temperature around you can easily be adjusted...in many ways," she chimed in, smirking slightly.

The young man tensed like a deer about to be hit by a speeding car, his eyes crossing while he tried to maintain close eye contact. Barely relaxing at all when Malakani stepped farther back, his attention was brought to the hot chocolate being offered to him, eyes curious and not hiding the suspicion he felt towards it, especially preceding the comments made by the two women.

What he would not reply with, was the fact that his clothing wasn't very warm at all; in fact, it barely insulated any of his body heat against the elements. Becoming more and more awake, and feeling more and more trapped, red eyes continuously shifted from one woman to the other.

Thankfully, he hadn't been caught during an assignment, or right after committing one.

Remaining silent, he contemplated whether or not to play 'deaf and dumb'. Though he had clearly heard what the women had said, his unease with the current situation could be contributed to simply being surrounded by unfamiliar people who were too close for comfort.
