I have NEVER ever liked the show, only watching it to get to the program I wanna see. While watching it I always notice how dumb and stereotyping it is. What really gripes me is how it portrays African Americans behaving like a bunch of....for lack of a better word, "hicks". I know I'm ranting, but this has been eating at me for a while. Sort of wish they'd just cancel the show already. And now I hear they're coming out with a movie.
Anyone else dislike this show besides me?

I've always like the Boondocks. I liked the comic strip too, though it hasn't been printed in my local newspaper for some time. But I think the show is funny and well made. To appreciate it, I believe, you can't take literally what it presents on its surface. It's social satire. Comedic commentary on values, racial interactions and culture in America.

...I thought that was the point? Everyone is stereotyped in that show, except for one of the kids (forgot his name) who is constantly pointing out how stupid everyone else is being. I saw it as making fun of the people who are those walking stereotypes, maybe trying to get them to see how stupid they're acting.

That said, I never really looked that much into it. Like you, I only caught bits and pieces while waiting for something else to come on.

I don't really think they're acting like 'hicks' either. They're more like 'gangstas.' xD Now, I've seen them portray a few white people as hicks. What about that big, rich guy? Like I said, everyone is stereotyped in that show. It doesn't stop with African Americans.

I think it's an ok show. Personally I think Uncle Ruckus is hilarious.

Clearly "Joey Kitsune didn't get the point of the show
Or at least it seems some things went over head.

No insult.

The show is made by black people making fun of black people. It's a take it or leave it show. You either love it or hate it, but dont disrespect it because you dont like it. (not saying you did, just saying) and I dont see what the big deal is with saying hoe, I mean shes a hoe.

I find it funny, at least to me it's better than South Park nowadays.
anyways, it comes up with interesting theories (like Martin Lught King Jr. coming back to life and seeing how things are now.)
sadly, there's some truth to it and thats why some people won't like it. (in my opinion anyways)

I am guility of watching the show I do find some of things to be funny. I can also see why other people don't like show. The thing that offends me most about the Boondocks is how much they used the "N" word. I know it's meant to be funny but if a little kid was watching the show he/she would recived the wrong message.

I like the comics a bit more than the TV series. But the TV series is cool though.

I do admit that I watch the Boondocks and yes I do find it funny in a certain way.

I can understand why people can find the Boondocks offending, but it is just a cartoon. :P!

My favorite episode(s) are the episode(s) that weren't aired on US television. lol I liked them because they made fun of BET and some of the points were true. Not true, but it had its point if you get what I mean.

I can't wait for when the third season airs on Adult Swim. I think it will come out in 2010. :)

I hope the third season picks up the whole White Shadow storyline that happened near the end of the first.
The second one seemed more (not sure how to describe it) AS aimed, like the creator had no real part in it, except for a few eps. Though I did like SE2 because it focused on other characters besides Huey.

Tom (animated) is really my fav, he is just cute.
