Here you can post about pumpkin traumas, or successes.
If you have photos of your jack-o-lantern, show us!

FUNNY STORY:
When my brother was 3 and I wasn't born yet, he demanded my parents to buy a white pumpkin. So they were angry they had to pay extra and stuff. MY BROTHER PAINTED IT ORANGE.

Wow, that's hilarious! I would have been pissed too though xD

This year, my dad really wanted to get one and carve it, but I ended up doing most of the work xD

I went to the pumpkin patch and picked one out. Then I carved it by myself and my design looked better than the other one my brother's girlfriend did even though she's supposedly a pro. Not really funny but that's how things went.

I bought a mini pumpkin to put on my window sill, for like, ever and forgot it was there for about a week, then had to peel it off the sill. It was nasty, but so funny to see my mom yell about it.

Oh wow the pumpkin up above my post is awesome! Anyway everyyear its a family tradition to go and buy the pumpkin and carve it and one year my cousins where here when we careved the pumpkin. Of course the guts got eveywhere and my cousins are younger then me and they thought it was fun to play in it. Eventually they started throwing the pumpkin guts everywhere! It was in thier hair and stuck to their faces. One of them tried to eat the seeds and said the tasted good. lol.It was really fun.

When my brother and myself were kids, we waited for our dad by the pumpkins so that he could help us carve into them. My brother got impatient and decided to carve into the pumpkin. The knife slipped and slit the skin on his thumb. He had to be taken to the emergency to get stitches.

After that, our parents decided to buy a fake pumpkin that plugs into the wall and lights up.

That werewolf carving is awesome.

I gutted and carved my pumpkin in around half an hour this year. :3
It's an angler fish and I used toothpicks for it to have teeth and I tracked down a stick for it's light thing. Dad never put it out though and it's just sitting on the back porch... probably wont get a picture of it.

I remember when I was about 16 or 17, my best friend, her cousin and I decided that we wanted to paint some pumpkins. So we got some tiny pumpkins and paint and we had so much fun that day. We watched a bunch of horror films and ate tons of candy while we painted the pumpkins.

I don't really have pumpkin carving stories - I've only helped carve a pumpkin once in my life and it was fairly uneventful XD But I had a teacher in elementary school tell me that she was carving pumpkins with her class and she had some nerve damage in her arm. So she's walking around looking at every kids pumpkin and one kid starting screaming. So she asks him what is wrong and the kid is like "YOU'RE BLEEDING" and so she looks at her arm and sure enough she had a pretty deep cut on her arm. SHe must have cut herself on one of the pumpkin knives and didn't notice because she couldn't feel anything in her arm because of the nerve damage D:

This year we had 9 pumpkins. Our neighbor was selling home-grown pumpkins in all shapes and sizes, $1 each. We got one shaped like the head of Dr. Frankenstein's monster. One had no stem, and another was really teeny with a curly stem. Well, we first did carving on October 25th. Usually, the pumpkins will keep for about a week. My sister carved this elaborate spider web pumpkin, which sadly fell apart by morning time. She also carved the face of the evil Cheshire Cat from American McGee's Alice into one of the pumpkins. I carved Scary Girl into mine. It's a graphic novel/internet game/toy franchise. I gutted that sucker. It smelled really good too and made carving much easier. The other pumpkins we carved the day before and the morning of Halloween. It was pretty disgusting throwing all these pumpkins out. They were just dead. I made my fiance do it. :)
