Haha. Well we can hope the generation after them will be better. With the US in the recession it's in (don't know where you are from or how your government is going if you aren't from the US) people have had to cut way back, so the general attitude of how parents raise their kids will, supposedly, be different as compared to when things are booming.

Which one? If the older verison (2001 or 2003) it will do that.

omg RPG Maker. I want to do amazing things with that ... I just don't know what yet 8D; I have started work recently with two friends on a visual novel game in Ren'Py, though, and I am chomping at the bit to start programming in that~ Are you just playing with RPG Maker for funsies, or are you working on a nifty project? =O

I completely agree. Swat Cats was a favorite show, I had completely forgotten about it. I used to watch Avatar and Ronin Warriors too. And as cheesy as it appears now, I like the transformer series. back then they were a blast. still are more kosher, not so degrading like todays cartoons

Theres quick events and provided tiles. Quicks can make doors and chests to open, also transfers.

YOu have to tinker or find tutorials. Theres plenty on the link I posted.

Friends and I wanted to explore the visual novel genre for games other than dating simulators, but our initial idea seemed a bit ambitious for a first project. So the one we're working on instead will play somewhat like a dating sim, but we're working for a story that is much deeper. We have a dev blog up that we've been posting on to get ideas down; I can PM you the link, if you'd be interested?

We're about to start the writing process to get the story and branching paths down before we even touch the programming.
