Keeland giggled to himself, he had never heard anyone they that they themselves were not that smart. He surely would never do it himself, unless he was speaking about his brother who was nonetheless the typical knot head of a warrior. He shifted some. It didn't seem that the other was after him anymore so he started slowly down the trunk of the tree untill on the ground.

"Well...good luck with that?" he said, with a smile that seemed to have a bit of a mocking feel behind it. He leaned on the tree he had just come down from.

Marcus peered at him sternly, quirking an eyebrow as he wondered what to make of the barbarian's coming down from the tree willingly. Then he shrugged and stepped back, but did not turn away from the other. "We got our own gods for that, don't worry. Just hope our paths won't cross again." He took a few more steps back before finally turning his back on the barbarian, and stepped off through the brush, parallel to the edge of the forest, but not back towards his legion. He had to retrieve his banner before he could return to the camp, so he should best get back to hunting for signs of where the other barbarians might have taken it....

Keeland just stood there and watched the smile on his face never leaving. He let out an audible laugh as the roman ventured back into the forest. He loved being convincing and was happy in the fact that the roman would never find the banner, for he had helped in it's theft after running into a troop of his fellow people on his journey. Smirking he followed but at good distance from the man trying not to be caught. Maybe this guy could lead him to his brother?

At the sound of laughter, Marcus cast a glance back over his shoulder, and glowered at the barbarian one last time before continuing on his way.

Broken twigs and brush meant that someone had passed through, right? .... Or did he do that himself earlier. The Roman did his best to avoid displaying his utter lack of tracking skills, or at least he felt he was doing a good job of it. He stumbled upon a little trail between the trees through the brush and started to follow it, parallel to the edge of the woods.

After a few minutes, though, Marcus straightened and glanced back at the camp, and, noting the signals for attention, sighed and frowned and walked back out into the large clearing. Perhaps they had even caught a few prisoners - Marcus thought, as he drew closer, that he saw a couple dirty-looking men bound with ropes being led from one cluster of tents to another.

Keeland still followed, despite the Romans turning around to frown at him. He just shrugged it off. No need to let a simple expression stop him. His brother wouldn't be found if he did, well following a roman wasn't the best way to do it either but at least it was a lead.

He let some more distance between him and the other man as the camp was in sight and getting caught may be a bad idea. He got down low to get closer, now that there wasn't that much foliage to hide behind and tried to get a closer look. Doesn't seem like any of those men are him or any he would be with.. He thought to himself as he saw them, but a few he recognised himself..from the night before. He shuffled in his hiding spot...behind a thick bush a sneeze was coming on and he tried to hold it in, afraid the noise would blow his cover. But it soon got to hard to hold..and he sneezed.

As he drew close to the camp, Marcus saw the legion's engineers breaking out their shovels even as the rest of the soldiers were preparing rations for breakfast. A few men tested the edges of axes, too, while they waited for their meals to warm. So the army would be camping here for a time, then - within an hour or so, there would be trenches and a rudimentary palisade in progress, with men clearing the edge of the forest to fell the trees for the wooden walls. The legion would be staying a while.

"Poor kid," he muttered to himself with a slight laugh; whether he was with the other tribe or not, the soldiers would make no difference. They would likely spend their rest here combing the surrounding forests, slaughtering any non-Roman they came across in order to exact revenge for the raid the night before.

Thoughts of blood and guts were cut short as a sneeze sounded at the edge of the woods a few dozen paces behind Marcus. He stopped, one foot still slightly raised, and turned around. And burst out laughing.

"Following me, still?" he shouted at the woods' edge. Then he looked over at the camp, then back to where he now knew the barbarian to be hiding. "Going to steal my breakfast, too, are you?" Marcus's shouts started to attract the attention of the other soldiers nearby, and pretty soon, there were five or six Romans standing around him, squinting at the rustling brush.

Blinking he rubbed the underside of his nose and swore quietly to himself. Timing seemed to be against him. Wake up time faced him with this roman, now sneaky time was completely blew by some pollen that had clung to the bush, he guessed. Either that or the gods must really have him go face to face with the roman....s. And the worst part of it was that he was completely unarmed. Well he always knew how to improvise, his brother told him about it. He peeked over the bushes at the Romans that had gathered thanks to the loud shouting of the one he had encountered earlier before ducking down low again.

He serached the ground around him..then a smile spread across his face. He had his defense. A two-inch thick, thee foot long oak stick. Not the best he could do but it seemed sturdy enough. And to him..oak was his best choice. He grabbed it and brushed off some loose dirt and picked off the smaller twigs carefully. Then without wanting to think of later consequences stood up, stick in hand and stared back at the soldiers.

"Just the one," Marcus told his companions. Not that he had taken the barbarian's word for it, of course; he just figured that, if there had really been more barbarians, they would have all come screaming out of the woods to carry him off while he had been poking around there alone. They would not have let him rough up the little barbarian guy, either.

Fastening the parts of his armor that he was wearing a bit more tightly, Marcus strode back to the treeline. He could take this one alone if he needed to, stick or not. Wrestling him the last time had been easy enough. "I'll take care of him. Get some rope ready," he called back over his shoulder to the others. With people watching, he had to do something about the guy.

Then, to Keeland, he called out, "Why are you still spying? I think with all our campfires and the fact that there are, oh, a few thousand of us, your little blue-painted friends should know exactly where we are."

Keeland tensed up, gripping his last minute weapon tightly as the man from earlier walked over. He bit his lip a little but said nothing to him as he walked over. But then a question was called out to him, spying? Yes he could call it that. But he already knew the Romans were there. He was just more curious about them in general...and seeing who they had possibly captured. And he voiced that.

"Who doesn't know your here." He scratched at his filthy hair. "Your loud and destructive in a way." He walked towards the man, meeting him halfway. He crouched over some as he approached holding the stick in a way that he could assault the other in any moment if he wished. And that he did. Without even talking more Keeland swung the branch hard aiming for a less-protected spot on the mans body. All the while ready to make a run for it if the others, who were standing at a distance decided to charge him.

(Sorry fer lateness. Creative blox xD)
