Charlie laughed, "I think he likes you." he informed her, as if she couldn't tell from the way the dog was licking Alicia's face and hands and wagging his tail excitedly. "If you feed him, he'll be your best friend forever." Charlie laughed, pouring the dry dog food into a deep, aluminum bowl. Bailey didn't respond to him, however, because he was still too enthralled with Alicia's presence. Putting the bowl on the counter, Charlie watched a few moments, "Here. Put it on the floor anywhere." he said, laughing and pushing it closer to her.

It made him genuinely happy to see her with the dog. Charlie loved Bailey, and he loved seeing Alicia so happy.

"I hoped he would!" Alicia couldn't help but give the dog a big hug. She looked up at Charlie as he poured the dog food into the dish. "Dogs are like men. Food is the key to their heart," she laughed at her own joke. She stood to grab the bowl of food and brought it to the floor in front of Bailey. He dug right in, inhaling the food like most dogs.

She stepped back and raised her blue eyes back onto Charlie. "So, when do you have to work next?" She wondered out loud. She was already figuring what she would do the first alone day she had. She was becoming so used to Charlie that she realized that she didn't like the time apart, but at least now when he worked she would have Bailey to keep her company.

Charlie laughed, "Well, I can't say that statement's completely untrue. Us men do love our food." he laughed again, more loudly. Watching Bailey's enthusiasm for his food, Charlie sincerely hoped he himself didn't look like that when he ate. He was also impressed by how quickly the pup could put his food away- as if Charlie hadn't fed him the whole day. He was sure, without looking, that the large bowl full of kibble he had left out in back with Bailey before he left would be completely empty when he went out to collect it.

When addressed once again, Charlie looked up at Alicia, having completely forgotten he had a real life, other than Alicia. It didn't take him long to return to the reality however, and he answered promptly, "Well, tomorrow I gotta go back in, but Jimmy's coming in too, so there'll be three of us with Kyle there, and it shouldn't take us long to do the projects we gotta get done. There's only..." he began rambling, but caught himself. He didn't want to bore her her first night there, or at all, for that matter. He looked back down to Bailey, who was just pushing the empty bowl around with his nose, hoping more would appear, and shortened his answer, "Yeah, tomorrow, but I shouldn't be long. Couple ah hours, at the most, I'd say." he told her, glancing back up at her with a small, nervous smile. "I'm sure Bailey'll keep you busy while I'm gone." he joked.
