Rain smiled back and hugged her back. "Sure. I'll be back." Rain slipped out the door and bounded up the stairs to Hal's room, knocking on the door. "Hal... Kitty doesn't really feel too well about what happened. Really.. I don't know how you feel about it, and I'm guessing you're pretty mad, though I don't know why... Really, Hal, she started bawling when you left, and said something about you being right and her wrong, and asked for you to come back." Rain really wasn't sure of what to say anymore, and she stood there, waiting for a response. Well, if he doesn't take his anger out on me then that would be a start.

Hal sat on his couch in irritation, ignoring the voice coming fom out side his door. He popped earbuds into his ears and turned on his iPod Shuffle before heading into his kitchen area and starting to cook.

Rain stood and heard some banging and shuffling. She sighed and turned, and said, "I'll be in my room if you need or want to talk about it. If I'm not there for a while its because I'm going to talk to your friend first." Rain put emphasis on 'friend.' She wanted Hal and Kitty to make up and move on, damnit.

She ran down to Kitty's door and pushed it open. "He decided to ignore me. Sorry. Maybe he'll come through later. Anywho, I'll be in my room, playing my keyboard if you need me, unless you want me to stay here with you for a while. I don't mind."

Kitty was putting the bag in the fridge she suddenly had no appitite.

"Oh i should sleep My body needs to pass out for a long time." She smiled, at rain and then climbed into her bed, started to close her eyes, the face was still there, "You know what could you stay and talk to me for a while it's late at night now and i'm afraid to admit, there's somthing I don't want to see."

Hal turned off the heat on the stove and tilted the stir fry into a container, strips of beef and chicken mixing with the vegetables. He sealed the container and ripped out the earbuds, before storming out the door with his apron still on.

Kitty lay under her covers trying to close her eyes to sleep. 'if only i hadn't seen that look of desparation and death in your face all at once, cat fears that look to, we will never beable to fully protect our home.' She looked at Rain, "It won't go away. How can i forget it?" She asked chilishly.

Rain scratched her head. "Think of a place you can be with nobody bothering you. Imagine yourself there with your loved ones, smiling, laughing. That's what I usually do. I know it's pretty corny but hey. Or think of good memories, or start dreaming of chocolate, ice cream, brownies, cookies... you know, fill it with nice things." Rain wasn't sure if that would help her, but she'd tried.

"Ok I'll try." She thought of hangin out with all of her new tennants charging them there bills and watching there faces as they reluctanly gave her 230 or whatever they owed, and walking threw the park on a sunny or snowy day, with Santo and Hal and Cove. She pictured going shopping with Lacey Rain and Jaize. She thought of sharing thanksgiving diners and Christmas presants with all the people that were most inportant to her right now.......

She handed Hal a small presant and when he opened it Kitty was giggling, as he pulled out a black button down shirt with little grey skulls on it. The girls had opened up dresses with lace and layers, Cove opened a fancy coat with tails, and for Santo a really nice pair of sunglasses, she giggled, as they handed over what they had gotten her. She didn't open them she just watched them enjoy there christmas the first christmas they would all have together, she was still hurt some but was able to play and have fun.

She was mewling and making little cat noises in her sleep.

Rain smiled as she heard Kitty mewling in her sleep. She went over and scratched her ear, which twitched, and stepped out the room, closing the door softly.

She took the stairs two at a time, and when she got to her floor she pushed the door out of the way, leaving it open again in case Hal got out of his bitchy mood and wanted to talk, and started playing piano. She started playing songs she knew, which was pretty hard considering all she'd learned in about ten to fifteen years, and played them at random, making them all flow together and added her voice in there, weaving it between the chords. She enjoyed herself when she played piano, it took her away from the world.

Kitty got up and went to santo, "Hey Santo, you wanna go out later?"

After chuckling Santo agreed to meet Kitty in her office in an hour.

"Shall we then." She was in one of her favorite dresses.

Kitty turned beet red in her sleeping.

Rain sighed and turned her keyboard off, as well as her amp, and got up, stretching. Maybe I should go out somewhere tonight. There's a tree by the window so there's an option for getting back in the room before morning. She decided she would go to the park later and stretch out under a tree like she and Hal were going to do, except she wouldn't have her work this time and be care-free. But then what if someone comes in here while I'm gone? We don't want Santo or Hal, even Kitty to come in and end up locking the window or something.

FLASHBACK~
"Are you sure you want to run away? You'll die anyways. That is my job, you know."
The man ran right past Rain, running through the door, down the stairs, and through various alleyways.
Rain jumped out the window, smiling to herself as she took off towards the man running away. She pounced on him in the alleyway, grabbed him by the neck and threw him against the wall, pinning him there.
"I told you. You can't run or hide now."
The man screamed with his last breath.
END FLASHBACK~

Rain shuddered with the memory. She was NEVER going back to her assassin days. That was over, even though her father had those damn posters everywhere in Japan. She closed her door and went downstairs back near Kitty's room, leaning softly on the wall.

Jaize had traveled along with Cove and Santo until they reached the apartments. She kept in step until they hit the front door, and then she held back. Something was pulling her, but what? It was a feeling...something she sometimes got, nothing serious...or so she hoped.

"I'll be there in just a minute..." she told them, taking a step back from the apartment and waiting for them to go in. No one in sight she looked skyward, trying to shake the feeling.

What was it? A mystery at best...

It was the feeling of being a part of something bigger then today. Bigger then tomorrow. Bigger then your own decision.

"Come back." A voice whispered, causing the Naga to jump out of her own skin. Was he here? A quick glance around told her he wasn't...but the thought...the thought of him being here in this place shot a chill up her spine.

"No..." she muttered, rushing up the steps and into the apartment to join the other's at Kitty's door. Sadly, the owner was already asleep. At least that was good, she could heal that way.

"So sorry...How is she?" Jaize whispered to Santo when she came in.

Santo turned to Jaize and said, "She is healing but still needs a little more time before she's fully healed."

Jaize nods, "I'm glad to hear it...oh hello, I don't think we've met." She turns to Rain with a sharp bow. "I'm Jaize...and if my hearing is correct, you are this Rain I've heard so much about. We're glad you were around to help with Kitty...and happy early birthday."

Kitty looked so peaceful while she slept, Jaize thought.
