Rain smiled. "I don't mind at all. I love the idea, and especially cake," Rain said. "Uh oh, line's moving! Finally." Rain pulled up and handed the girl the money, who smiled and gave her the food and the wrong change. Rain handed the food to Santo and then said to the girl, "I'm supposed to have $8.56 left over, not $8.25." Rain smiled at the girl, who sneered and basically threw her change at her. "Thank youu! Have a NICE day."

Rain pulled out and got her cellphone out, calling the number on the sticker of the window used for comments and questions. "Hello, may I speak to the manager? ...Ah, yes, your worker in the Drive-Thru window, Brina, just threw my change at me when I said she'd given me the wrong change.. I was just in a minute ago, I ordered two plates of orange chicken with chow mein, steamed rice and- oh yup, that's it. Thank you!" Rain clicked her phone off and headed to the freeway. "Teens these days..."

"I'm glad to hear that," he said happy she was okay with the plans they had made. Santo listened to the whole exchange and frowned. Poor Rain's birthday so far had not been that great. He really hoped things would look up once they got back to the apartment.

"Yeah many don't know what manners are," he said to her in reply. He changed the topic and said, "So did you have an special wish for your birthday?"

Hal had secluded himself in his apartment again, lounging on his couch. He wished he hadn't caved in for that date but maybe he could scar the guy enough to make him never want to go out with him again. He eyed the spots he'd hidden with knives fondly...one could never be too careful after all. His stomach growled and he frowned, punching his gut irately so it would shut up.

Hal stood and stretched his arms over his head. Now he had three weeks of-...nothing... He scowled at how depressing that was. As excited as he'd been about it he really didn't have anything else to do...

Rain bit her lip. "Yeah. I do. It's a stupid wish, though." Please don't ask.. Oh Kami, don't let him ask..

Santo got a bit of a far away look in his eyes as he said somewhat seriously, "I don't think most wishes are stupid." He looked at her with his usual smile and said, "What's your wish." He know though that many wishes were sometimes personal so he added, "Don't worry you don't have to tell me. Besides isn't there a superstition that if you tell your wish it won't come true?"

Rain looked over at him, pulling off the freeway and stopping at the light. "I'll tell you one, since I know that one won't happen. That my parents won't be assholes and come down to say hello to me sometime this week or even year." She was most definately not telling him the other wish she had. It would be too embarrassing.

Kitty sort of woke up and went to her little phone, she dial hal, yes he was up two floors but she was so tired and she needed his company, "Hal please pick up."

"That's a good wish. I hope it comes true for you," he said to her. He really did wish that it would happen but he knew as well that relationships with people sometimes were not so easy to change.

Cove changed his mind, walking back into the apartment building. He knew what he wanted to do. Making his way back up to his apartment, he opened the door and closed it behind him. Cove changed into just a pair of mesh shorts. He opened his closet and dung into the back pulling out his acoustic guitar case. Opening it, he placed it on his coffee table. He pulled out his guitar and the purple pick that was at underneath it.

He slung the guitar over his shoulder and walked out his apartment, closing his door behind him. Cove rushed down the stairs, making his towards Kitty's room. "Kitty. I'm back." He knocked gently, before walking in. "Look what I decided to dig out.." Waving his guitar above his head.

"Yeah. I would tell you my other one, but I kind of want that one to stay a secret," She blurted out, blushing. She broke eye contact with Santo and drove through the streets, stopping at another light after five minutes. Even if she didn't believe in superstitions like that, she didn't want to fuck up her chances.. If she told him, he'd probably get all weird about it. I mean, it wasn't every day that Rain wanted to kiss Santo. Or was it?

"oh cove your here, um....." SHe put the receiver down, "Sorry hal but i've got company," she turned to Cove, "oh that's exciting, Also i hope hal knows that was me and is gonna come down....." She looked sadly at her receiver.

"Uhm...so..I figured I'd just show you." Cove let it sling down. "I'll uh, ....comebacklater." He suddenly felt awkward, and stepped out backwards from her room, closing the door. Cove walked up the steps and sat at the top of the stairs at his floor. He rested his guitar across his lap, playing with the strings for a few minutes. Then he stood up and walked back to his apartment and inside.

Sitting on his couch, he sat there playing. Staring down at the guitar and his fingerings moving slowly.

Santo smiled and said, "Okay I suppose a girl is entitled to her secrets." He was glad she had wishes. Wishes meant people had hope and he liked that.

Rain smiled nervously, still not making eye contact.

A minute or so later she pulled into her original space across the street from the apartments. "Could you take the food? And my keys please, lock the doors when I get my things, if you would.. thanks." She handed Santo the keys, and got her box out of the back, closing the door softly with her foot, and pushing it closed with her hip. They walked across the street, and Rain dropped her katana once but picked it up quickly.

"Sure no problem," he said to her. He held onto the food they had ordered and once she had her things out he locked up the car. He said to her, "I can carry that for you if you like?" Making sure not to offend in any way he said, "I'm sure you are strong enough just my manly ways always kicking in." He laughed a little at his own odd habits.

Rain looked over at him. "No, it's fine, I've carried way more, like my father. But thanks for asking." She smiled at him, moving across the street.

He let out a little laugh and said, "Okay I'll leave it to you then." He walked a little faster though so he could hold the door open for her. "I still have your keys, would you like me to go upstairs and open your door for you?" he asked her.

Rain kept the smile. "Yeah, please, if you don't mind that." She passed through the door and waited for him so he could go up first. "Really, thanks for everything today. I know the day's just started but.. the whole party thing, Jorge, and this.." She shook her head. "I'm not the best on wording things, really."

Santo smiled and said, "You're welcome Rain and really I'm glad I could help. It's nice feeling useful. Okay I'm gonna head up and open your door now." He gave her a wink and went up the stairs to her apartment. He got the door unlocked and opened for her.

Rain went through the door and set the box down and her katana, stretching her arms out a bit, purring. "That feels good. Sorry about the semi-purring thing, I've always done that when something feels really good." She blushed. "That came out wrong! Oh, Kami.. I meant.." She broke eye contact again. She was really fucking up her chances.

Santo couldn't help but let out a little laugh. He gave her a wink and said, "Don't worry I won't let the others know." He had to tease her just a bit. He then said,"Why don't you rest a bit while I get the others to help get things for your party set up>"

Rain nodded quickly. "Yeah. I'll eat and put my things up, and that should take a while, so you guys have plenty of time. Just send someone to get me." Rain laughed nervously at his teasing. It nearly killed her when he winked. Oh, Kami..
