Greetings, salutations, and hello, hello, hello.

I was informed about this place by a friend of mine. ::Looks out into the vast ocean of the interwebz, and waves.:: I’ve been to some other forums/posting-board sites before, though avatar sites are a bit . . . new to me. I’ve looked over the FAQs--well the basic ones, at any rate--and feel semi-confident about wandering around the site aimlessly. ::Giggle:: I’ll probably continue reading the stickies and other helpful guides I stumble across.

That said, I’m not always the most active of beings. If you do find me, it’ll probably be an equal division between the role-playing area and the literature spaces. I’m a bit of a D&D/RPG/RP addict, and a writer to boot. I have no illustration/animation/computer graphic skills, at all. Or maybe I have less than none. I’m not sure, this paper bag is really tough to get out of.

Still! With college raging all around me, it’ll likely be a bit before you see anything of note from me. Add in my hermit like tendencies, and, well . . . I’m kind of a good e-mail/PM-pal.

::Bows:: Thank you all for listening to me ramble on. I hope to talk to many of you again, and to make some friends in this place.

Oh, and don’t worry if my text suddenly changes color mid-post: I Role so hard that I sometimes have my Avatar as a separate character/entity from myself. I’m still debating how/if I wanna do that on here. . . . -.-;; Although if that’s considered spam, I guess I’ll save him for the RP forums.

Until whenever!

Hello!
Welcome to Menewsha! I hope you like it, I know I do! It's so laid back and fun. Plus the people are all very nice! Very nice introduction! About the computer graphics and having no skills, that's me! So don't think you're alone in that aspect.

@SaetonChapelle: Hi Saeton. . . . . Wow that sounds . . . yeah ::small laugh::.

Ah? They do? What do artists usually ask of writers? Trading, or fictions/stories for characters they design? ::Thinks a little:: That’ll be a nice change of pace. ^__^ I’m so used to image-geared events/contests--at other places--that it made me cry for my lack of talent. T_T I missed out on awesome things because of my ‘wrong skill set’.

::Bows:: Will do. I’ll probably poke you with a friend request at some point.

Thanks for the helpful advice!

@DariaMorgendorfer: Hi-o! Thanks. ^_^ More than most usually give?

@Duchess-of-Pink: Hey!

I got that feeling about this place. o.O? Is my intro really that different than most? . . . . XD Yes, untalented peoples unite!

Is good to see you here. ::Ro~o~o~o~oll:: I’m having fun, and the place looks promising. Might have to poke around the exchange for el-cheapo clothes for my little WereVamp-boi to wear. . . .

Suggestions are love? ::Basks in the attention/affection::

::Laughs:: I’m a strange person, and Lynn is a character that has been through a few sites and incarnations with me. Without naming said places, I got to tinker around with his race. I think he was a Vamp first, and then a Werewolf. . . . . I’m not sure. It doesn’t matter anyway, because he ended up as a hybrid of both. <That place> also had a sister site, and there I was able to make up his ‘pre-incarnation’, for when he was still human.

Then there’s all those D&D sessions I played with him. I can’t even remember half the things I turned him into.

Judging by Mene’s AVy customizations, I figured it was a safe thing to go a little wild with him. So yes, he’s back to being some crazy blending of Were-folk, Vamp, and maybe Dragon Knight/Dragon Rider/Dragoon thing for flavor. Or Cat-boi. In the end, it all depends on what makes him look pretty. . . . . and what I can get away with in the RP forums.

I'm kind of shy I at times... I myself haven't poked around the exchange forum much... the store called 52 has the cheapest clothes in many, many colors. Hot Gossip is also the place to look for inexpensive items. The less expensive end of Wonderland Boutique is another must-look place since I believe that shop's items are a little more worth-it.

Also on the list of actual stores is the 'Sellback Store' which actually took me a while to find when I was a noob. xD Items sold back are at half the price you purchased them for so sometimes you'll find people selling their items in the exchange forums for at or just under the store prices so they could get a little more back from their items than the Sellback Store would give them.

I think you can get away with almost anything in the RP forums.

I think I saw an angel/demon/vampire/gargoyle/werewolf hybrid the other day in there. XD

@SSceles: I’ll keep all of those stores in mind.

Wait, that ‘Sellback Store’ sounds like the shop from a game I once played. Yeah, there was the one shop in town, but if you sold stuff back it was at a fraction of the price paid, and the item disappeared into the void. People used the <open market> to sell back to other players, just so they could recoup more of their gold.

Same deal here? Or do the items stay in existence for others to buy--like in a secondhand store? Or some kind of charity/donation thing? Hmm, can one donate old items to others? ::Thinks about later down the line for cleaning out own inventory.::

@Flink: . . . . I’m not sure if I should be happy about that, or cry a little. I’ll go with happy, since I’m probably going to make Lynn into my own sort of monstrosity. >3

Be sad... very very sad.

That character should have been a horrible monstrosity. Instead she was a pretty angel... with horns. That's it. XD

Nothing more.

Yes. The trade system doesn't require double-triple approval. Once you've selected the items you wish to trade and move to the next screen you can either wait for the person to put up their end of the trade OR you could instantly hit the 'approve' button and the other person would automatically get the items you put up without you having to approve another time. Very efficient for just 'giving away' items. However, if the person put something up to offer also, then your old approval of the trade would be null and you'd get to look at it again and reapprove.

Items sold to the sell back store automatically disappear. So yes, the system does work like the other one you described.

@Flink: . . . . . . . . . .

Okay. . . . okay that is so many shades of fail, I can’t even start.

As an angel, human with feathered wings, any color---save maybe black--would work. If they had a halo, all the better, as would be clouds, sparkly dust, and some kind of armor/weapon of holy goodness and pimpage.

As a demon, leather/bat/dragon wings, any color--save maybe white--horns and a tail would be a minimal. They could even throw on infernal tattooing. Again, mix and match weapons, armor and other things like hooves to taste.

Vampire just needs fangs. Maybe red/gold eyes with blood-tears and claws, along with pointy ears :: Points to Lynn’s ears:: to get the point across.

Gargoyle? Watch the old Disney cartoon. That, or just give them an odd skin-tone, like stoney-textured gray/green/red/NOT Human! Just so long as it’s more pebbly than scaly so as not to be considered dragon-like . . . . Although that could work too, in a pinch. But again, some kind of horns, tail, wings, and it could be confused with a demon pretty easily.

As for a Werewolf. . . . okay, unless one is shifted/shifting into a Wolf form, or hybrid state, they look totally human. But if shifted, they should be furry in some way, with claws, teeth, tail, whatever.

So yeah. . . . Start with a human, give them a flaming halo--from the Angel/Demon mix--of any color. Then change the skin color to an inhuman brown/gray/green/purple/anything color. . . Give them White-leather/any other color ragged feather wings. . . Huge Vamp fangs, and blood-tearing eyes of whatever color. . . . Then texture the skin to look a little like stone. . . . and then give them a fuzzy wolf/animal tail. Throw on some holy/unholy weapons and armor to taste, muck around with ears and tattoos if the spirits move you to, and done. Monstrosity of not so epic fail.

Because if anyone could seriously pull that off in a legitimate role-play, my hat would be off to them as a writer.

@SSCeles: Ah, okay. . . . I should have guessed. But still, at least I know holding onto old items isn’t a bad thing. ^__^

Much love as always babe.

Why would keeping old items be bad? o.O

Now I'm tempted to go join RPs to see if I can get away with a wonky mix of races. XD

As much as I try to collect items to use for later sometimes I just want something else more and I end up selling my entire old outfit just to make way for a new one. o_o Slightly counterproductive. xD I need more patience and faith in myself.

There are also different 'drawers' in your inventory to shove items into if you really don't want to look at them anymore?? You could use the drawers to divide different outfits or for different holiday items or something. I dunno. I don't use my drawers. But the feature is there~

I'm glad you like the cape I sent you! ^w^

@Fllink: The other places--that I dare not speak the names of--had a cap on one’s inventory. So you couldn’t lug too many things around. However, you couldn’t just ‘gift’ them away either.

Well on one of the sites you could, but you had to be sneaky about it, and get the other person on at the same time as you, and PM each other back and forth--i.e. putting an item up for automated-auction at the minimum selling price of the item.

In short, keeping old items because more of a hassle than anything else.

Lol, I think I’d like to see that. . . . We could start a thread of the ‘Best Worst Character Concepts’ parody thing. Everyone could post the most inane, ridiculous, and down right ‘bad’ idea they could up with for a character--RPG or otherwise. No judging, no prizes, just to see how good one is as being bad.

. . . . I might actually have to start such a thread now, if one does not already exist. People can come up with some pretty terrific ideas when trying not to. . . . I’ve laughed so hard I almost cramped my stomach from reading intentionally badly/poorly written parody!fictions. . . And by the same token, it can show others what not to do for a character. . . . Kinda like breaking the beast down from within to see how everything fits together, and why things work the way they do, ya know?

@SSCeles: Like the different bags in WoW? . . . I’ll probably make some use of them. ::Is such a pack-rat::

>w<~<x3 Yes, the cape, we loves it for it looks all Vampy. Now I just need me some anti-Sparkle sunblock, and Lynn should be good to go.

*faint laugh* ....some people have done personal quests on Mene to collect every single item in all the stores. To what point I don't know but it does sound interesting. For that reason I'm pretty sure there's no cap on the inventory here.

Don't be so afraid to name off other sites. It's not forbidden. xD There's actually a forum just for the discussion of other sites... but its not like I'm seeking conversation on the other sites... just that its perfectly okay to mention them and ask questions in comparison. ^w^

As far as your conversation with Flink goes - not only do people have to explain how all the different species work in one being... they also have to explain how the poor creature came into existance!! o.o

I had a Myrdraal/Dragkhar/Vampire cross. Vampires aren't in the series (Wheel of Time) that the other two are from... and Bryant came into being as what he became (since he did start out human) because he was sacrificed to the Dark One and the Dark One heard about these creatures from another dimension and decided he wanted one for his own.

::Nods:: People like that exist everywhere.

:p I don’t name the off sites because of paranoia, true. It’s a major relief that they aren’t forbidden. One of the games, however, I grew to detest with such conviction that I refuse to give it the free publicity that my rants against it would generate. I don’t even wanna go back to said game to see how it’s degenerated.

>3 Yes. . . yes that would be part of the character background. . . Okay, I’ll have to look through my old RP files, and pull out a blank character form/sheet to muck around with, and then have others fill out. . . . But I’m lazy, so I might not change it too much, if at all. . Or maybe I already have. Eh, I like combining details I find nifty.

But That Makes Sense! A hybrid that already existed, with a god to just say, ‘I wanna try this now’. SImple, easy, foolproof. Not a horrible idea at all. ::Hands over cookie of doom::

The vampire that was forced to turn him was not pleased or willing at all. I can't entirely remember how it went down.... it was back in the days when I used to LARP with my ex. =/ I still love my vampire-mut all the same and want to use him in another story... changing up his past and making the creatures he's a hybrid of my own creations so he's completely original. He holds no real ties to the actual storyline plot, anyway. Back in the day, according to the book, a thousand years previously, one of the Dark One's highest followers was in charge of creating the creatures that would serve... their design, the magic that formed them... some of them were turned one way or another depending on their soul when they were human.

Then again, that's kind of like in Kingdom Hearts where the strength of the heart determined how powerful a person's Heartless or Nobody would be. Perhaps I'll do something similar for my novel...

So, anyone out there know of some good places to hang out at? I'm still getting used to this place. It's very disorienting at times.
