Let's see...
Dir en grey, D'espairsRay, Perfume, Morning Musume, Ayabie, An Cafe, The Gazette, Exist Trace, Malice Mizer, F(x), Asian Kung Fu Generation, and many others that I can't think of right now haha.
I think my favorite asian artist would have to be Shiina Ringo, god there are so many asian music artists that I really like though... I guess something else I really like about Shiina is that she tries to sing in other languages too, though she doesn't sing fairly well in English its nice to hear it anyways. :)
My roomie is crazy about pop music. She's most into Aya Matsuura and Haruko Momoi, but she listens to a lot of other ones. You mentioned Thai; we found it via the buffalaxed version, but that Red Dance thing Yam did is pretty cute.
I tend to like kinda darker stuff; I like a lot of the vocaloid songs, I also like Yosei Teikoku, gnawing, antihoney, Malice Miser, and so on. I also like stuff played on traditional instruments, like the koto or the biwa.
Gackt and Hyde are just plain aweosme. Although, I admit that I like Gackt more. I think Hyde does better doing solo work. Then again, L'Arc~en~ciel(P'unk~en~ciel) Are really good as well. To think that some of their music is older than me or my age gives me a weird sense of connection with that band.
For me, I just recently discovered an old band called X Japan. They are good in my opnion, though I like their ballads more. They're speed metal from the 80's
This is there song Forever Love.
Korean music is ok. There's a woman named Zia that can really sing. Very emotional too.
Oh and Gackt is a lovely creature. I love his music. How he can make an uplifting beat to a song that is actually very sad. I would say I hate it, but I really don't
I haven't really listened to much Korean or Japanese music in a long time but I have been listening to Chinese music a lot. Some of my favourite Chinese Singers include: Jay Chou, Lee Hom Wang, Crowd Lu, Joey Yung, Jolin Tsai, Khalil Fong.....etc.

The only Asian band/artist I actually really say I'm a fan of is Asian Kung-Fu Generation other wise I listen to one or two songs by other Asian bands/artist. But this is one of my favorite songs YouTube - TANK-
I find Asian music interesting and quite lovely, but my friends are the strangely obsesses ones. :P One loves J-Pop. (Mainly Vocaloid and the such from what I heard.) and the other loves K-Pop. (Mainly Big Bang and some others which I can't seem to remember.) My mum also likes Asian music because she can understand it better than English music. (We're Asian and my mum is still trying to learn English.
Wait when we talk Asian music do we only talk east-asian or do we talk all Asia? Because I really like some Turkish and other middle-eastern music, I'm crazy about this band/music group called Baba Zula and one called Orient Expressions. I was in Istanbul a few years back and went into a music store and picked up some CD's. Some where not really my thing but some where amazing. One could argue that since Turkey is also European and therefore is not all Asian, but who cares. There's other great middleast music too, it's just so happens that I've gotten hooked up on Turkish's.
If we talk east-asian music I haven't really listened to alot, and most of the stuff I've heard is chinese indie.
I love this tune: My little Airport (I don't think that you can play that tune in the US and I dont know how many others can play it either, but I was just way to lazy to find it on youtube :( , bleh)
I like Jrock and Jpop and some Vocaloid/Utauloid music. Yes I do consider them Asian music since they started in Asia even though Voca and Utauloids are a singing program and not usually real people although Megumi and Gackt provided voices and many people are using their own voices to make their own Utaus, anyway, those are the Asian musics I like, though I have heard some traditional Japanese type of music and Korean pop that I like. Anyway, enough out of me.
My favorite Asian music is probably artists like Akiko Shikata, the medieval/fantasy type of music.
Oooh, and Mutyumu. I also do quite like toe, Galneryus, Kalafina, or Suilen. Boris... eh, sometimes. Strangely enough, I haven't really found much in most J-Pop or K-Pop, although I have found a few I like. And I do most of the time find it (current time pop that is) better than here in America. XD
Also I have the entire Chrono Cross soundtrack lying around. I don't normally mention those, much less download (or buy) them, but this one is such a different case.
