That is why I prefer short shorties or historical romance. Often times there is a longer time frame for the two characters to fall in love, or the characters themselves admit things are going too fast.
In real life that could happen. I know people who suddenly decide that they're "in love" and wham! they're getting really serious a few weeks in. I think it is kinda dangerous.
A big thing to remember is that fiction always mirrors real life or it wouldn't be believable. The thing about romance novels is that there are some that are like pornos (the guy shows up with a pizza and next thing you know...) and some that are long well thought out stories.
