Meh, I'm pretty indifferent about it.
My reactions vary depending on which movie or book we're talking about. XD

I read the first book before it got really big and the scary fans started coming out of the woodwork. I kinda liked it, even if Bella was a bit Mary Sue-ish. And Edward's angsty self-loathing started to grate on the nerves after a while. x__x

Hated the first movie though.
Edward = Idiot
Bella = Epic idiot
Dialogue = Two. hours. of. verbal. constipation.
Visually = Very nice.

The second movie was only slightly better.
I don't like the girl who plays Bella. She's very pretty until she opens her mouth and she can't act for squat. As for the guy who plays Edward... meh. I will say that the kid who plays Jacob did a pretty good job. He really did a good job working out and getting all buff for the part, but he's so young that the muscles look out of proportion on parts of him (if that makes sense to anyone).

Book: possibly the worst book I have ever read.

Movie: highly enjoyable when seeing it with friends; laughs galore. The people are all pretty attractive, though. I'm not shallow, really!

Sorry, Twilight lovers. I just can't find any redeeming qualities in that horrendous brick of a book.

And the plot is just not complex at all. The writing is so simple and the author states everything so bluntly that it requires no thought. There is really no drama, or action. And Bella seems like a slut for leading on two guys at the same time, and even makes out (kind of) with Jacob while she's with Edward, and Edward is whipped and a bitch for letting Bella do that. Overall, the story is very predicatable, and the movie is poorly done and the actors are terrible (once again, they do not have personalities).
Thats what she said..

Hate it.
As said before, Vampires do not sparkle, and the character Bella actually gets on my nerves. It kind of drags on for a bit.
The whole plot actually doesn't make sense if you think about it. Sparkling vampires? 100 year old vampires having to go to school? Did I mention sparkling vampires? That's what annoys me the most. Also the fact that it's gotten way too popular just because it has mass amounts of "hot" guys.

for me its a love hate thing i love that edward fell in love with bella regardless of the fact that she is human and he is a vampire and it is a forbidden love but i also agree with the all over rage that vampires dont sparkle after all vampires are dark and twisted creatures not sparkly cute creatures and to me the dark mysterious creature as in the legends of vampires is far more appealing to me however i do like that such a dark creature could fall in love with something so frail in their eyes so yeah i think for me its a love hate thing with the movie and the book series though i am only 3 chapters into new moon and i have not seen the movie yet as i refuse to until i finish reading the book tee hee i guess im just weird like that

the books are not on my top list of books to read, but i did enjoy them. they were easy to read. something to quickly read through in a few hours just to make time go by.

however, when the books exploded, right around the time the first movie came out, i was disgusted by the whole fan-girl madness. that definitely turned me off to the whole series. -_-

the movies i hate. kristen stewart is a terrible actress and has only one expression; that of extreme boredom.

And what the hell is a one hundred-year-old vampire doing, falling in love with an annoying sixteen-year-old? This guy is supposed to have vast amounts of wisdom and knowledge beyond any teenager's imagination, so why would he put up with her and her ignorance? Old people are amused, at best, with really young and cocky and whiny teenagers. Never would they get clingy and emotional over their insignificant problems.
And why the hell are they attending high school to begin with?! I don't care how young they look and it's "the law" that they have to attend a school. That's what "HOMESCHOOLING" is for! If I was a 100+ year old vampire, and looked like I belonged in school, I would do the homeschooling bit and never interact with the horrible and self-centered teenagers now-a-days. I would kill them (if I was a vampire, of course). It's just such a huge plot hole to get around, I can't stand it.

The movies only make me want to kill Stephanie Myer, or the actors. This craze is horrible. A third rate movie is rivaling great and timeless movies. It doesn't belong anywhere near media attention or the public eye.
And if I hear one more girl swoon over how "hot" the guys are, I will punch them.

I am just waiting out this horrible period of American history, so the hype will pass and no one will care anymore.

P.S: Vampires that sparkle, are not vampires. They are PIXIES.

Don't hate it, but darn close. I, honestly, read all the books and thought the writing was poor and the characters were beyond... well, I wanted to choke most of them. The movies, being so close to the books didn't change my thought on that.

In all honesty, I have no clue how anyone could obsess over this series, but to everyone their own I guess.

Hate it. Flat out. It completely ruined my vision of vampires. Plus a fan wrote to the creator of Wolfman that everyone knew it ripped off Twilight and that Stephine Myer created werewolves. Obsessed much? I've seen how it changes sane people into sico-crazed fangirls and frankly I'd rather watch a GOOD movie. Like 21, Ever After, or Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

I'd much rather watch a GOOD movie over Mr. and Mrs. Smith, so to each their own I suppose! ;)
Haha, sorry, I jsut thought it was funny that you were saying Twilgiht is a bad movie and listing Mr. and Mrs. Smith as a good one!

But in anycase, can a perfectly sane person really become one of these mythological 'crazy Twilight fangirls'? I'm not so sure. :XD People don't just lose their minds when confronted with a series they enjoy, I have several Twilight-lovin' friends who have always been quite sane and continue to be so!

I've never read the books, but I did attend the midnight showing with my best friend when the first movie came out. The movie wasn't that bad, but I don't understand what the big deal is. Personally, I don't think any of the actors are cute. I found Bella to be really annoying, along with all the fan girls who screamed when Edward first entered. What bugs me and most people the most is the fact that vampires are not supposed to sparkle. Vampires have always been my favorite monsters, even though I was terrified of them growing up. When I say vampires, I mean Dracula-style. All the new vampire crap that's being released now is getting to be really annoying and over-done. Seriously, stop all the vampire love stories for at least a few years. In case you haven't figured it out by now, I seriously do not like Twilight. I cannot stand it

Holy crap, I totally agree with you. They chose the worst actress to play Bella. KRISTEN STEWART?! Ha ha. She didn't fit the image at all...

But anwayyy, the book was okay (I liked it for a while but then I suddenly stopped)... and the movie was terrible. That's it. Ha ha. I've only seen the movies though because my friends are crazy about Twilight.

Books: I guess I liked them......2.5 out of four qualifies as like right?
Twilight:I liked this book not because of the writing because the writing is not what I would say is good. The lore of the vampire has always been the same before Meyer opened the feild by putting an original spin on it sure vampires sparkleing in light is not the most original but she gave it a shot I can't bash her for that.
New Moon: All whining all the time I could not stand it.
Eclipse: Was moderately good and I really have nothing to say besides that it was completely forgetable.
Breaking Dawn: This was the worst in my opnion except the Jacob POV's only because it was fresh and not entirely predictable. It was way too long for what it was. The ending was no ending at all bacause it felt rushed.

Movie: Hated
I only saw the first one and refused to see the second because of the complete crap they made of the first. It was almost a parody I wanted to laugh at the serious parts. The movie was entirely too dark and the casting was done crapily. Maybe if they learned to act I may wanted to see it. I did like the Alice and Jasper actors but that was about it.

What really ruined it for me was the fact that all the supposed 'fans' happened after Edward was cast. If there is one thing I can't stand it's fangirls.

I am pretty much neutral where Twilight is concerned, I don't love it - - nor do I hate it. It is the type of movie I'd sit back, and watch every now - - and then.

Conceptually I despise what Meyer has done with the vampire genre, which was going to hell anyway. In actuality I haven't seen the movies or read the books, but the classic Vamp was Dracula. And he surely did not sparkle in sunlight.

Not that I understand all the hype surrounding it -- seriously, the plot sounds like something an emo teenager would write -- but I'm okay with it existing... sort of. When I first heard about the book series, I thought, "oh, that's an odd twist on the vampire archetype." A friend had just finished reading it and was talking to me about it over lunch. I didn't think anything of it. About a month or so later, the second Twilight book came out and the rest is history. Now, if that's your thing, the whole sparkly-vampire bit, fine. But at this point I just wish people would shut up about it.

And those Team Edward vs. Team Jacob ads? That was just... awkward and misguided.

It's not so much Twilight that I hate (though I definitely don't think it's OMG AMAZING), it's moreso the fans. This whole thing has gotten completely blown out of proportion. Do you know how many times I've heard girls say they're saving themselves for Edward? Or how many girls have dumped their boyfriends or even HUSBANDS for a FICTIONAL CHARACTER? It's weird and disturbing! Though the not any more disturbing than some of the products out there.
Blood bags, anyone?

On top of all that, is the often stated fact that vampires do not sparkle. They burn in the sun. To ash. Because they're cursed. They're not happy little glittery critters that frolic in the sunlight and fall in love with depressingly bland seventeen-year-olds. They EAT depressingly bland seventeen-year-olds. And then complain about how shitty they tasted.

And the movies -- dear God, the movies. Has anyone else noticed that Edward's face looks like a foot?

I agree with you on the fans.
They're fictional characters, but still you shouldn't dump your significant other for someone that you're never going to get.
That's ridiculous.
I posted this example earlier, but when I was a senior in high school (college freshman now) there was this one girl who was really obsessed with Edward.
Before the bell would ring, she would write on the board saying, "I love Edward Cullen", and "Stephanie Cullen" on the board. Additionally, she had the shirts, notebooks, pencils, and even Twilight gummies!
And before she ate a gummy (I'm assuming that it was Edward's face) she would stare at it and say, "I love you" and then chop its head off.
It was crazy, I wanted to puke.

@ArsenicAttitude -- That is... extremely disturbing. That girl needs some SERIOUS mental help. She's gonna go apeshit one of these days and hurt someone for telling her that Edward isn't real. >_>

Have you ever heard of MyLifeIsTwilight.com? That crap is SCARY. My friend showed it to me, and I was between wanting to laugh hysterically at how lame the posters were, and wanting to cry because my faith in today's youth had been absolutely shattered.

It was disturbing.
My friend and I just watched in pure disgust.
There were some other Twilight fans in that class and they would always gather around each other and just talk about Twilight.
She probably will.
No one really liked her anyways haha.

No, I've never heard of it.

I'm *so* glad I was out of high school when this craze hit. I would've flipped out if I had to deal with psychotic fangirls on a regular basis.

I warned you about that site, though -- it's sad and disturbing. Any trauma you suffer from reading it is totally not my fault.

Yeah, we had Twilightitis (heh I just made that up) really bad at my high school.
Twilight shirts, backpacks, pencils, you name it.
We even had the library take us to see the movie on opening night.
I went to that though because I was kind of into Twilight then (not because of everyone else) and wanted to see how the movie was compared to the book.
It was horrible btw.
