what do you guys here think of the Studio Ghibli anime movies? how many of them have you seen and which ones are your favorites?
i've seen Spirited Away, Howls Moving Castle, My Neighbor Tortoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Nausicaa, and Princess Mononoke. i really like all of them, and i really want to see the rest of them. i really can't wait for the new movie to come out, i think it's called Ponyo? correct me if i'm wrong. anyway, it's very hard for me to decide which out of what i've seen if my favorite. Princess Mononoke was the first i ever saw, and it's just AWESOME!! even tho it's pretty graphic. and My Neighbor Totoro is sooo adorable!!! i love the catbus in that movie. =^_^=

I've seen Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Whisper of the Heart , Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, The Cat Returns, Howl's Moving Castle, and Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea I feel like such a dork since i've seen almost all of their films. XD
The first one I saw was Kiki's Delivery Service, I watched it when I was a little girl, and the others ones I just grew up watching. I think my favorite would have to be Howl's Moving Castle, and The Cat Returns.
Howl's moving castle was just beautiful, though it wasn't like the book I was amazed at how wonderful it was ( I watched it like for a week straight. XD ) my favorite part was when Howl and Sophie walked on air. :)
The Cta Returns was cute and funny, I really loved the music and my favorite part was when Baron danced with Haru, it was just so pretty and reminded me of ballroom dancing. XD

Roco Poco, I think that is what it's called. He is cursed with a pig's face and he loves this girl that sings but this other mechanic girl falls in love with him. It's really lovely. I mean, he doesn't fall in love with the mechanic girl but she kisses him and he helps poor people or something like that and the police don't like him very much or I think they are police but they try to capture him and he has pirates chasing after him. I recommend it to anyone that loves Studio Ghilbli. Of course, we all love Studio Ghilbli. Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Castle in the Sky, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Whisper of the Heart, Princess Mononoke, and Tales of Earth Sea. The last one his son produced or developed. Either way it is a lovely story. :D

Princess Mononoke was also the first ghibli film I saw. But sadly though it was the only Gibli film showing in a theater in my are . The others have been too far away.
Funny thing about seeing Princess Mononke though. The theater it was at was an hour away and was only showing it for one week. My siblings and I drove up on the last day of our Chritmas vacation in a blizzard to go see it. The marquee (sp) sign had mispelled it as Princess Mononokee. So since then we've had this joke that it was actually called Princess Monkey and this was even before we knew there where monkies or gorillas in the film. It was pretty funny and fun two since we were the only people in that theater it was pretty cool. One of my favorite movie experiences that's for sure :)
I really like Princess Mononoke, Howl's moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service the best.
Others I've seen have been Castle in the Sky, Porco Rosso, Spirited Away, The Cats Return, I own Pom Poko but I haven't see all of it yet :/ and Nausicca is apparenly pre Ghibli but I still like it. It's one of the first of Miyazaki's films that I've seen. My brother found it used for $6 at a game store :D I've also seen Grave of the Fireflies another pre Ghbli film that Miyazaki worked on.
and I've seen Ponyo (in Japanese) my brother sent me a burned dvd and he will also be sending me a copy of Tales from Earthsea as a late birthday present :) I saw about half of it when it was on youtube :p It's great having a brother that lives in Japan. Though I do miss him :(
I think I've listed all of them since there only a few that I haven't seen.

Let's see, Princess Mononoke was the first Ghibli movie that I ever saw. Surprising enough, with how much I loved it, I didn't really seek out any of the other movies until my friend told me about Castle in the Sky. It was after that that I started collecting them. I have Whisper of the Heart, Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle. Other ones that I have seen are Porco Rosso, Only Yesterday, Nausicaa, The Cat Returns, and Ponyo.
My favorites are Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away.
I saw Ponyo in theaters and added it to my Netflix as soon as I got home to the theater. According to that, it's supposed to come out on DVD sometime in March of this year.
