What is cosplay?
Cosplay is short for "costume play." You dress up as an anime or video game character and run around pretending to be them at conventions. More common to American culture is a Trekkie, slicking his hair down and pulling a "Live long and prosper," hand deal on you.

Rules *

*Don't just post to get ideas for yourself. Obviously then no one would get anywhere. So, try to post thoughtful ideas for the posts around yours or any neglected posts you may have seen. I'm not asking for a lot, just respond to one or two other people either with your request or afterwards. You can really respond to others at any time, but I'm trying to keep down on "spam."

However if no one is replying to your request and you think it is really being neglected, feel free to (in bold lettering or whatever) add "Check out my request: message # ___" to a reply.

*Crossplay happens. If someone who you think would be terrible for a crossplay (opposite gendered cosplay) is requesting crossplay ideas, just pass over them. I think that the contacts should be an optional function honestly. It's not really that of an important deal; contacts are very expensive, especially for those with astigmatism. Just felt I should point that out.

X3 Needless to say I was very happy; my favorite won this year again; for the past season or so I didn't get my fav for the mirror-ball trophy.

But that aside; maybe to get this thread rolling I'll post on who I should cosplay later right now I'm tired and don't feel like digging up pictures. XD

I look like: Well I have past shoulder length dark brown curly hair. I have dark borwn eyes and naturaly think eyelashes. I have a small beauty mark next to my left eye. I sort of have a serious yet thin defined face, I sort of look mean/evil in a way. My face is sort of rosy but other than that I have somewhat pale skin ( I tan easily though. XD )

I like to crossplay mainly as guy main characters and/or anybody with brown hair, but as long as It's not to revealing, anybody is fine really.

@Foxberry: Heehee, ah Thanksgiving preparations. We have a freshly made cheesecake in the kitchen, and I swear the thing is calling me.

@Demoncat: I have three ideas for you right now. For one you get to leave your hair curly. The other two require that you straighten your hair (which is just temporary, of course). They all have black hair, (but your natural dark brown is close enough to be convincing) AND they're evil!!! ^^
1) You'd be a kick butt Orochimaru. *-* I mean, he's dead now, but whatever. You'll be recognized for the character you're crossplaying as, and that's always good.
2) You'd also be a great Aphard Alshua from Canaan. She's the head of a terrorist group, and has bangs, which can be faked with bobby pins (or you could really get bangs, whatever).
3) This one lets you keep your hair curly and wear a crazy dress thing. You could be Xing Huo from Tsubasa Chronicles. She's also a bad guy.


@Manga_Animefan1223: Okay here you go. :3 If I think of more I'll add 'em later. I know you don't want to crossplay, but what if you were crossplaying as a guy who was also crossplaying or just highly effeminate? I'll add pics of guys like that if you'd like. Otherwise I thought of these three gals:
1) I first thought of Remelia Scarlet from The Touhou Project. She's a vampire and I'm not really sure if she counts as a good guy or a bad guy, but she looks crazy sometimes. She also has bat wings. You wouldn't exactly need to cut your hair for her, since the rest of her costume is so distinguishable that as long as it had the color you'd pass.
2) From Monster Princess / Princess Resurrection you could go as the main character: Hime / Lilianne. She's blonde and killls enemies w/ chainsaws and other such things. She's an aristocrat and dresses in Gothic Lolita clothes.
3) You could also go as Kagura from Gintama. She's normally sorta cutesy and innocent, but if REALLY pushed, she can snap and take on almost anyone. She's really pretty neat.


"@YamiSora: You have, like, a butt load of choices. I dunno why, but tons of male leads in anime are brunettes. :P I'll list a few. There's also a crazy non-main character that could be fun to go as, so I'll just tag that on for kicks.
1)Akiyuki from Xam'd. His hair is pretty dark, but still brown (as seen in some well lit scenes). He can change into a monster thing and sometimes it takes over only his face in a sorta irremovable mask thing. He's cool.
2)Tsuna from Hitman Reborn! He's pretty annoying the first like. . . 50 episodes, but he gets cool later. Fire comes out of his head sometimes. I'd totally use the fire in the crossplay (like cardboard or colored cotton or something or plastic) so ppl recognize you. It's only been serialized for a bit.
3)You can also go as Suzaku from Code Geass: Lelouche of the Rebellion. He is most rad for an anime lad.
4)Tatsuma Sakamoto from Gintama. He's not in every ep, but he's distinct, a brunette, and laughs a lot. His costume looks fun, so I added it. :P

DemonCat; Ah! I've got a really neat idea for you. I don't see him much and you're quite tall for a girl so I think you can pull him off if you get a wig. Muraki from Yami no Matsuei. He's about as villainous as you can get it. X3

Manga_AnimeFan; What about Lichtenstein from Hetalia? I think you'd make a very very cute Lichtenstein~

Yamisora; How about Roxas or Sora? I mean yeah I'm being captain obvious but yeah. However; hnn... They are over cosplayed now. So I do think Tsuna is a good idea.

However one thing to keep in mind; when I cosplayed Gokudera I really didn't get good reception. I don't know if it's because of Reborn's not as receptive as some anime/manga, I don't know. Hell you might have better reception I dunno. ^^

My brother did a Hitman Reborn! cosplay. He went as Hibari Kyouya (complete with tennis ball bird on his head XD) Foxberry is right, not a lot of people seemed to say much about it, but there were a few other people doing Hitman cosplays. And when they'd see each other across the room it was really fun to watch :3 They'd start shouting their catch phrases and stuff. Does anyone in that series not have a catch phrase? XD

Hey thanks everyone for the ideas. :D I really think I could be a good Orochimaru, but i think I would have to dye my hair black, my hiar isn't raven black, I would have to put on some white makeup since i'm very rosy but other than that he seems pretty simple. If that doesn't work out i'll just go with Neuro or Marluxia ( though Marluxia is a VERY slight choice, it would be very difficult to cosplay as him, I think I should be either Orochi or Neuro, lol i'd love to wear a Neuro wig. XD )

@Manga_Animefan1223 You could try Orihime, since you have orange hair

Though the next character isn't a villain either, but she's pretty cool, Rozalin from Disgaea 2. :)

@PanderDander: Here's some choices.
1)When I first looked at your pic, I thought of Eri from School Rumble. She's more blond than you, but you could always use a wig. She's not bubbly, but something about you reminds me of her. She's one of those sorta secretly sweet types. hmmm, :/ Of course, she is a she, and you're a crossplayer, soooooo...
2)My second thought was of Ayame from Fruits Basket. He's sorta bubbly (yay) AND a dude (yay x 2). He's rad.
3) You'd also make a good hitachiin twin (especially if you can coax a look a like friend into dressing up, too :3) If not, you can buy a blue or pink wig and go as one when they were "fighting." People will still recognize you unless they're lame. They're bubbly sometimes, but mostly they're sorta mischievous.

Other: Despite my body shape and physical limitations, I'd like to be not type casted into a particular type of character and manage to pull off multiply possibilities as much as I can.

If a character is a pettanko -ex: Miku Hatsune (currently working on dream cosplay ; w;- I'll bind and try to find a way to disguise my body shape like through binding or a corset to make it seem smaller.

And make up also brings the feel of the character so be it.

=w= People keep suggesting neechan/hime type characters to me. D:

Not to mention they're mostly OH THEY FIT YOUR BODYTYPE sort so you can imagine that some can be pretty skimpy/racy at times.

...I want to transform so to speak? >w> Sure it's nice to make use of your advantages physically but I kind of want to... branch out?

@Lavender, you should try Yoruichi since you have dark skin, all you would have to do is get a costume and a dark purple wig. ^_^

@Whitebeast, you should try Yuuko from XXXHolic, Other than the costume all you would need to do is er... stay out of the sun, get VERY pale (like almost completely white). XD and maybe some contacts, but other than that I think you would be fine. :)
