Marissa’s eyes lit up with the thought of being able to do magic so easily. Fingering the crystal around her neck, she wondered if a day would come when she would no longer need it. Lithia was lucky to have a family that taught her magic until it was this proficient. She looked over at the vial of herbs Lithia had brought for her. “So is there anything in particular you want me to make with those herbs? I could make you potions for magic lessons, I’d feel really bad if there wasn’t anyway for me to repay you.”
Gaven wiped the dirt from his pants and stomped the mud from his shoes. “Ye-yea I’m fine. Tea sounds good.” He looked down at her before she turned to get the tea. “Um I brought the tallow for you.” Okay now he felt stupid. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously and watched Sylvie bustling about the kitchen. “I..I actually wanted to ask you something.”

"My tallow! And my market day's not 'til tomorrow, either. That does save me some time, though, thank you! I'll get you your payment after I put the kettle on." Sylvie hurried about the kitchen, getting things together as she talked to Gaven through the doorway. This was highly unexpected, and she really hadn't expected a delivery, much less...
Soon enough, she had the tea brewing, and returned to the workroom. Her strongbox was there, hidden and well-secured. She discreetly opened it and withdrew the coin needed for her tallow. Handing the payment to the frankly nervous-looking Gaven, she said, "Well, then... ask away."

Lithia smiled and nodded in agreement. "That sounds like a plan! Beside I can teach you how to master your magic and you can teach me about potions. I am a herbalist but I used the common knowledge when it come to herbs to make median. I do my elixirs but I have never made potions. You will have to come to my shop some time and I will teach you from my books!" She couldn't believe she was making a new friend already. She smiled as she looked about the place. "I don't really have any idea what potions you could make from my herbs but I am sure you will find some!"

She was so forward, Gaven was just about to lose his nerve when he spotted a black Pomeranian sitting under the kitchen table. “Did you get a dog?” The cute little ball of fluff was watching him lazily from her little guard post. “I never thought you’d get a dog Sylvie, you’re always so busy here. What’s it’s name?” Gaven’s hair fell over his eyes as he reached to pet the pup.
“Oh everything in nature can be made into a potion! My father taught me how to make them since I was five. Though there are a few he hasn’t taught me yet, because they’re too dangerous to make or they take 20-50 years to make! For the past three years I’ve been learning the more complex potions, like hearts root and ginger finger. Those are used to help ailing unicorns and confused dwarves.” She loved making potions with her father, he was far more graceful and talented than she could ever hope to be in making potions. Marissa had a natural talent when it came to making potions, though her clumsiness did get her in trouble sometimes.
Sipping at her tea Marissa watched Lithia sipping tea with a natural grace. Marissa pushed her blonde hair back and tucked it behind her ear, wondering and watching Lithia. “So Japan, that’s a long way from Suchen. What made you decide to travel here?” The tea soothed her, and she felt the relaxing and healing effects of the Edelberry tea. Marissa had to admit, the Japanese knew how to make an excellence cup of tea.
Just as Gaven was about to pet Illusious he heard a thud in Sylvie’s yard, then a groan as a tall woman in a white airy dress stood up. She was breathtaking, her hair was golden and skin as pale as the stars, her eyes were crystal clear blue! Gaven gaped at the angelic woman, all that was missing were the actual wings. “S-Sylvie, there’s a woman in your garden.”

"A dog? I don't have a..." Sylvie followed Gaven to the kitchen and immediately noticed the puppy he was referring to. She hadn't before. How odd. One would think it would have barked, at least. She bent over the pet the pup, too, and to take a closer look. "Oh, this isn't mine! She belongs to Marissa, the girl who runs the new potion shop. This one must have followed me home!" Sylvie chuckled, glancing apologetically up at Gaven. "I'll have to take her..."
Then she heard the thump outside, and Gaven's exclamation. A woman in her garden? She scooped up the dog in one arm. "Come on!" Dragging both the pup and Gaven outdoors, she soon beheld a strangely beautiful, almost frightening woman knee deep in her poppies. "There is a woman in my garden," she breathed, echoing the butcher's son. Not a human woman, she was certain. "Ma'am, can I... can I help you?"

Lithia smiled as she looked at her and placed her cup of tea down. " True it is far from Japan but it gave me a fresh start. There to many people who know of my family's power. I wanted a place where I could be myself and not how to use my power unless I wanted to. Here no one knows of my power till now..." She smiled and picked up her tea cup as she went and washed it. She went back and sat at the table. "I guess we are a odd pair a elf and a Asian witch. I do miss the celebrations that we had back home. And my friends there and my school. The schools here are....very different and boring at times for me. I miss my fans that my friends and I use to dance with for the celebrations.

((Thanks for keepin' me up with this Viktoria :) ))
Illusious sat under the table licking her paws, almost like a cat. She'd done as Marrisa had asked and 'led' Sylvie home. Though Sylvie had actually done the leading. Now she was just watching. Humans are so interesting! She couldn't help but think. She yelped when Sylvie picked her up though. Ohhhh this is unpleasant... Though her size was hidden, her weight was not. She knew that she must seem almost impossibly heavy to the human.
Uh oh uh oh uh oh! I've been outed! She's going to know... Oh... my... gawd... She had been squirming before, but now she was almost clawing her way from Sylvies arms. When she finally squirmed and fought her way out and onto the ground she ran to the elf. Elf, she knew that was what the girl was; it was one of her ''abilities'' as a magical familiar. When she was in front of the girl, she let her spell slip, but only for the elf. Not wanting to tire herself, but needing to talk to the girl, she 'spoke' into her mind. Very quiet, even more so than a simple whisper. Almost as if she wasn't talking at all, as if the thoughts were the elf girls and not someone elses.
"I am Illusious. Do not fear my great size or me as a wolf; I will not harm you in any way. I look like a small dog to prevent scaring the humans. Welcome to earth little elf. You should visit my charge down the road. She might be able to help you in some way. Follow me if you would." Illusious sat down in front of the girl and looked into her eyes. What was there was very inhuman knowledge and a twinkling of power. It showed that she was no ordinary animal and that it had been her to speak in the girls mind.
When Illusious thought that her point had been made, she stood and simply began trotting away. She knew how to get home from here and was quite confident that the elfgirl would follow. Before she left the garden she double checked her spell to make sure that it was once more fully up and running. Just in case.

Marissa was fascinated by Lithia’s stories of Japan and the fan dances they have, even the festivals sounded unique and exciting. She was getting ready to ask Lithia another question when she felt Illusious’ thoughts invade her mind. Something about an elf appearing in Sylvie’s garden?!
Marissa smiled at Lithia, “Um, sorry this is a bit random but my familiar is contacting me and needs my help.” Marissa quickly wrote down her phone number and gave it to Lithia. “I know we’re neighbors so stop by anytime, but if you need to call here’s my phone number.” What was going on today? Everytime she was making a new friend another crisis came up.
Just as Lithia was leaving Illusious walked in with a strangely beautiful girl in tow, and right behind the girl walked a some what transparent man. He was tall and …well good-looking…for a ghost. Marissa gave Illusious a stern look, “You said there was one person and you brought home two?! What am I supposed to do with them, there better be a good explanation Illusious!” Marissa normally wasn’t this stern, but ghosts freaked her out! The ghost looked at her and gave her a brood smile and winked at her.
Kyle looked at the little witch and knew she was the reason he wasn’t able to cross-over. Everything in his life was a complete circle, he had no regrets in life, or at least he thought he didn’t. Women loved him, men wanted to be him, and he made sure to visit his ailing mother every Saturday for tea and company. He was going to miss her, but maybe this witch would be the answer. What if he was supposed to meet her and be with her before he’d died. She was cute, and he knew that there was no way she could resist his charm.
Gaven watched as the dog led the woman out of the garden and down the road to a two story potion shop. Turning to Sylvie he couldn’t think of anything to say but, “Do you want to go to the movies with me on Friday?” He was so stupid, a girl just landed in Sylvie’s garden and walked away. Plus she would probably think he was joking, he’d been teasing her since middle school. There was no way she’d say yes.

Lithia smiled and held the number she let her self out of the store as she walked back to her store. She thought about the new friend she had made and her friends story. She hoped they could become good friends and help one another out. She closed the old oak door to her shop behind her as she went into the back of it behind the screen doors that she had made like the ones in Japan.

Sylvie scratched the back of her neck, and stared after the dog and the strange woman as they walked away. Then she realized how much her arm ached, and stopped scratching. That puppy had been much too heavy for its size. It made no sense! What had just happened, anyway? Aside from the arm ache and a few broken flowers in her garden, she might have thought it was her imagination.
Gaven was talking. "Movies? Oh, uh... Is that what you had to ask me?" She paused, looking up at him. He really was a handsome guy, in his own way. He'd grown in a lot of ways since their school years, and while the candlemaker had noticed, she hadn't really given it much thought. "Um... Sure. In the evening, after I close up?"

Holly sat up on the couch where she had fallen asleep with Alex's arm's around her. She smiled. Alex was still lying there across the couch with his eye's closed. Holly almost giggled but held it in and started poking him. "Alex dear wakeywakey." Alex didn't move. "WAKE UP!" Holly yelled causing his eye's to flutter open wide. "Geez holly! Think your loud enough?" He asked rubbing his eye's. They had a fight the night before about black magic and both hadn't been able to sleep. At about 5 oclock in the morning the made up and fell asleep on the couch after talking. Holly kissed alex and stood up fixing her black dress. Alex got up and smiled pulling her gun off of the floor and handing it to her. She slid the gun into place hidden under her black dress and turned to face alex who was hiding his own under his leather jacket. They didn't really know why they carried them around when they had magic on their side but it helped out with scaring a person or killing another magical being. Holly smiled widely and opened the front door walking out on the street heading to the center of town. Alex followed behind her slipping his hand around her waist and pulling the both quickly down the road.

Gaven couldn’t believe it! She was saying yes, to him! “G-great, ok um how about I stop by again around 6 and we’ll walk together?” He was elated. Her blue eyes looked splendid in the fading sunlight, as she watched him go. He turned when a thought occurred to him, “Where do you want to eat dinner at? After the movie that is.” How could he forget about dinner, he stuck his hands in his pockets to keep from fidgeting.

Dinner and a movie? This was sounding like an honest-to-goodness date! And yet, Sylvie found she had no objection to this concept. "Six sounds perfect, Gaven," she replied, grinning, strange events of the day momentarily forgotten. "As for dinner... Do you like Italian?" In truth, the restaurant didn't really matter to her, or the movie, for that matter. Sylvie's mind was already on what she'd wear tomorrow. Maybe she could pick a sash or something up at the market during the day, when she was there...

“Sounds great Sylvie, so Italian. I’ll get the reservations and we’ll go see any movie you want ok?” He was absolutely giddy. Gaven had a date tomorrow night with Sylvie. He pushed his hair back and laughed, it was an odd yet wonderful day. “Ok and we can try to figure out what was going on with that girl and the dog then too.” He laughed and then waved. “See you tomorrow Sylvie.”
All the way home he thought about which little Italian restaurant to take Sylvie to. Rosario’s would be the best nuance and food, his parents went there once a month. They were always telling him to get a girlfriend so that he could take her to Rosario’s, well now he would. Girlfriend was pushing it though, they were just going out on their first date. He had so much to do to get ready, flowers, a reservation and what movie to watch was up to Sylvie. Sighing deeply he thought about their plans for tomorrow evening as he made his way home.

{Hey, um hope you dont mind that Holly and alex run into Gaven}
Holly started to run ahead of Alex laughing as he chased after her. She looked back to see where he was. Alex was coming closer and closer to her. Most of the time they were running around like children so this was normal for them. Holly looked ahead again and checked what was infront of her. A man was walking a few houses ahead of her. Holly kept running and glancing back. She forgot about the man and as she ran she didn't notice she was right next to him. Holly tripped over his foot and fell onto the side walk. She was still laughing but crying at the same time. Her hand's and arms were scraped and bleeding. She stood up fixing her dress. "Sorry sir." She said noticing her gun was missing. Alex ran up behind her. "You ok he asked. Reaching down and grabbing the gun of the ground slipping it into the spot under her skirt. "Hello I'm alex. Sorry about that."

Alex smiled at Gaven and bowed his head slightly after shaking his hand. "Yes, I'm fine. I'm Holly. It's nice to meet you Gaven." She said quitely looking up at him and smiled slightly. She wondered if he was a wizard like alex or was human, maybe something else. "I'm sorry about not noticing you, I just wasn't paying attention." She laughed a little. Alex pulled a hankercheif out of his pocket and wipped off the cuts on holly's arms and hands while she was speaking.

Gaven felt bad that the girl had gotten hurt, “You know there’s a potion shop just up the road there, she might have something that’ll fix you right up. Come on I’ll take you up there, she just opened up so I haven’t been in personally.” Gaven started walking back the way he’d just come from, he hoped that the shop was still open. He hadn’t really noticed when he was walking home from Sylvie’s if the shop was open or not. He just hoped that the girl had something to fix up Holly.

Sylvie waved to Gaven, still grinning. "I'll be thinking about it," she replied. "Tomorrow at six then!"
As she retreated back to her work -- she still had decorative candles to finish for market day tomorrow -- she tried to decide what film to see. That new romantic comedy? Nah. Too predictably chick flick. And horror was also out, not to mention that awful-looking vampire drama. Ew. The new film about the end of the world, though... Yes, a cheesy disaster flick was just the ticket. She made a mental note to suggest it.
The tallow -- she'd paid for that, right? -- she stashed in the work room’s 'fridge for processing later. That would be a morning chore.
It was a struggle to concentrate on filling candle molds, and carving delicate ivy spirals around dipped beeswax tapers while her mind was occupied by what dress she'd wear the next evening, on what to bring, on whether to tell her parents when she visited them in town. Hey, it was a date, which they'd like. And she knew they'd approve of Gaven. The butcher shop wasn't all that far from their apartment, after all, and she was certain he helped watch out for them when he was on his normal delivery rounds. Yes, she'd certainly tell her parents! As her working evening drew to a close, she was positively humming.

Lithia emerged from the back part of her store as the day's light began to fade. She lite small candles about her shop getting ready for the darker hours. She grabbed her lantern as she headed out the old oak door to her shop. She stopped and looked at her garden happy at it's growth her herbs would be ready to pick in the morning as she had planed. She turned and headed to the woods. She need to get some of the herbs that could only be found there.

Illusious wasn’t able to answer because just then three more people walked into the store. “Sorry we closed early, um family emergency.” Marissa hated lying especially to customers. Though they looked like they needed help, the girl needed bandages on her arms. “Oh dear, Illusious take these two upstairs I’ll be right up once I finish here.” She said this in her head, not wanting the newcomers to think she was crazy.
“You look like you need some healing balm and bandages, no charge, we’ll have you fixed up in no time.” Marissa bustled about the store and beckoned them to sit next to one of her fragrance displays. “My name is Marissa, by the way. Sorry, I didn’t realize someone was hurt.” She looked apologetically at the young woman sitting in front of her.
Kyle watched jealously from the rafters as his dear Marissa tended the wounds of an injured stranger. Oh she was amazing, mother would have absolutely loved her. She was beautiful, gracious, caring and kind; what more could a man want. Maybe a pulse yea that would be helpful.
Gaven felt bad for walking into a closed shop, but once Marissa sat Holly down he felt a bit better. “I’m so sorry that we interrupted,” He just realized that the woman Marissa was talking to had been the same that fell in Sylvie’s garden. “Um, I’m sorry, are you related to the girl that just went upstairs? I wanted to know if she’s ok, she fell in Sylvie’s garden then walked away without a word. Sylvie was a bit worried about her too.”
So the girl had come from Sylvie’s, “Does she know Sylvie?” Marissa didn’t want to say anything that would reveal her lie, but maybe if he knew what had happened she’d be able to help more. The man said he wasn’t sure, but probably not because Sylvie wouldn’t have let her leave otherwise. It made sense.
