"I knew you went out,but...I didn't expect anyone to die"

Rafe laid his head down. "I didn't want to but it had to be done or we'd risk more attacks."

"Your pack was almost desimated because the coyotes thought you were weak. What we did had to be done. Moon pack proved to be a threat, and I will do whatever it takes to protect my pack."

"Rafe why didn't you tell me?"she asked

"You were asleep when it was decided. I didn't want to disturb or worry you." He looked up at her hoping she wasn't too mad.

"Xena, what Rafe and I did was for your safety, and the safety of our pups" Dresdus said.
Fang looked at Rose." I think our parents are fighting."

"I don't want them to fight"Rose said
sure not worry me she thought.She shook her head and sighed.

Fang nuzzled Rose. "Don't be sad. I'm sure they'll get over it."

"I hope"Rose said

Fang curled up on the ground around Rose. " I don't want to see you sad. Your my friend."

"I'm sorry Xena. I won't leave you out of such decsions again." Rafe sat up and licked her ears.

"It's ok, I'm just...worried"Xena said

Dresdus looked over at Fang and Rose. "Perhaps we could learn something from the pups, and get be together as wolves."

"they're setting a better example than we are"Xena said

Fang put his paws around Rose, playfuly bringing her to the ground. "At least they don't have to worry about the things we do" Dresdus said with a smile.

Frost shook the fresh snow that had feel on her coat as she had sat there lost in thought. She looked as she heard the comption that was comming from the den. She wandered how long she had been there. She tried to move to head to the den though somthing was on her front paws. She looked down to see Snow curled up there a sleep. Frost leaned down and licked her pup then nuzzled her gently to wake her. "Come on love lets get inside the den it is warm in there."

Snow open her eyes and looked at her mother. Her body becoming aware of the harsh cold as she moved to her feet following her mother. She wandered how long her and her mother had been there. The last thing she remembered was leaving to den to find her mother then curling up at her feet as she waited for her mother to come back inside the den with her.

Dresdus saw Frost, and got up to greet her, licking her face. "Frost, Rafe and I took care of moon pack. They will no longer be a problem. Fang ran up to Snow "Snow, dad's a hero! Do you want to play with me and Rose?"

Frost licked Dresdus back, thenlooked at him as her eyes widen. She looked down at the news. "You killed them then?" Her eyes meeting his as a hint of anger filled them. "And you went without telling us? What if you had got hurt we wouldn't have a idea where you were!" She closed her eyes as she tried to be clam.

Snow felt her mouth fall open as she heard what Dresdus said. She looked from him to Frost then to him then to Frost. She could tell her mother disproved of what he did. She didn't understand how he could be a hero if he killed another pack. "No I didn't brother... I would really just want to get warm."

"see Frost agrees with me"Xena said
"uh oh"Rose said

Rafe looked at her and sighed. "Fine I see that. I've already promised not to do something like this without your knowledge again. Now can we drop it."

"yes"Xena said slightly giggling.She looked at frost who looked very angry. ooh I would hate to be Dresdus right now she thought.

Dresdus looked at Frost. "It had to be done. Moon pack had upset the order of the forest and made us seem weak. What I did I did for you" Dresdus went over and licked Fang and Snow "And for them."
Fang became worried. "Mom, dad, please don't fight."

Frost closed her eyes as she tried to clam down again. Her fur was already standing up on the back of her neck. She open her eyes as she looked down at Snow. "Stay with your brother." Her voice was more of a growl by now. She turned from her and walked out of the den. She walked through the fresh snow hopping the smells would keep her mind off what troubled her. She stopped as she came to the river. She took her a drink then stud there as she looked at her reflection in the river. She sat down and pondered on the event that had taken place trying to see if there was any good in it, and where she could find common ground with her mate over this.


Snow looked to her mother then ran to the entrance of the den as she watched her mother leave. She had never seen her mother so up set. Snow let out a whimper as she watched. She looked to Fang then to her father. "I think that was a little late Fang. Though nice try." She said in a caring voice.

Fang began to cry. "I don't want mom and dad to fight!" Fang took off running out of the den into the woods. "Fang, wait!" Dresdus shouted. He chased after Fang.

Snow ran after her brother and father. She ran past Dresdus as she ran next to Fang. "Fang where are you going? Come on lets get back to the den. Rose is going to be worried about you! Mom will come back she loves us and dad."

Frost ear's stud up as she heard the sound of something running in the forest. She lifted her nose as she smelt a familiar smell. She headed in the direction that she smelt it. She stopped a few feet in front of her pups. She looked down at Fang as he ran into her legs. She bent down and nuzzled him and spoke clam and sweetly to him. "Fang what are you doing?" She looked to see Dresdus running be hind them. "You are going to give your father a heart attack if you keep ruining like this." She laughed as she looked down at him forgetting she had been mad.
