I looked through the post rules and other art sections and could find no better place to post textile art, so if there is one please tell me.
I have been making dresses and accessories for the last 6 years and sewing for the last 16 years of my life (yeah, seriously I started on a machine when I was five) So in order of old to new pieces here are some of my dresses:

A renaissance dress I made around the age of 16.

My Prom gown (yes I am eccentric)

Made for fun, now for sale, a one size fits most dress.

I made this one for myself =) around 2 years ago. It has a corseted top and skirt and underskirt. Plus all of the accessories made to match.

Strawberry Fields: my favorite of the new batches of dresses, made several months ago.
You can see more of my dresses and accessories here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SageOfTheTrades
Tell me what you think, what you like and don't like. This is my first post, I will probably post more dresses as they come.

Wow you made those dresses? Crafty. Lol. You are very good at what you do. Have you tried to model for kind of clothing similar to that if possible? Or maybe sold any to anyone?

I'm really impressed, the Renaissance dress you did is amazing. Especially since you did it when you were only 16.

I like the one you made for fun the most. I would buy it but I'm not really the type of person who like dresses and skirts >>

Geez. I'm jealous. I've always wanted to be able to sew like that. I have a ton of outfit designs that I do in my spare time but I never know how to pull it off. And I agree, I'd love to wear something like that to prom.

When I first started sewing as a 5 years old I would literally just put a line of seam through a piece of fabric and feel accomplished. Later I learned how to sew bags and pillows by hand and it was all I could make, finally I learned how to sew clothing by patterns, now I am learning to make my own patterns and customize other patterns.
I promise you, it isn't easy at first and you will always run into new challenges, but keep at it and you can learn a craft to help you complete those projects, whether it is sewing, knitting, crocheting, or rug stitch, keep at your craft and you will eventually own it. =)

Keep practicing a craft and you will eventually get it. And you know me and if you ever what help find a way to bring your crafts to life I will help you as much as I can.

Start small and work up the project sizes and eventually it will be like breathing. One thing I remember when I am working on projects is to look at the individual task that I am working on and not the project as a whole, or I would get overwhelmed. Eventually the whole project gets done.
Thank you, I loved that dress, now it is too big. =( (I lose my chubby, and I want it back ;) )
