I agree with Kinmotsu. While I agree with you, Izumi, about how it would be nice to earn gold for more things that we do on the site like blog posting, the problem comes with the fact that you shouldn't need incentive to post your thoughts, and feelings. When you talk to someone about your problems, do you expect money in return? Is that why you talk to them? No. Writing in a blog is about telling your day to day activities, posting your thoughts and frustrations, and if you don't find being able to do that enough incentive to post a blog entry, then you don't need to.
"Incentives" for blog entries, or, like I saw another thread suggest: comments, only makes people spam and take advantage of it. The forums are heavily moderated by dedicated mods, and the members look out for each other and make sure we're all following the rules. However, with blogs, how many people genuinely bother reading someone elses blog unless it's a friend of theirs? Getting gold on blogs would not only make more work for the moderators (which might in turn result in the disaster known as Gaia's moderating system, where everyone else BUT yourself seems to slip through their radars. Your offense being that you posted a thread when there's another one "a year old" *exaggeration* like it, and their offense being spamming when there's a million topics about the same thing on the first PAGE.) but it also encourages the wrong sort of people to come to the site. If it's too easy to make gold, more people begin taking advantage of it because they never seem to find it easy enough. Blogs won't be about posting your thoughts and feelings, it'll be about typing a bunch of garbage just to earn gold.
If there was a way to make blogs give you gold without all those problems, I'd be for it, but I don't know if there's anything that could be done.
